Are your Trying to beat the Clock? - Time is on Your Side
Ever had the feeling that time was rushing past you and that you would never get the things finished that you want to do?
This feeling can be very stressful and a lot of us feel this way when we first start building our businesses here on Wealthy Affiliate. There is so much to learn that we feel overwhelmed. Some people even quit. Not in a grand or spectacular way, they just stop doing even a little and eventually nothing and never move on to Premium.
"Rest if you must, but don't you Quit."
But the trick is to remind yourself of your 'Why' and go back to doing a bit more each day. Starting your journey in WA can be very exciting but what are you going to do when the first rush burns off and the road seems very long? That's when you must become a trooper, your own cheer squad, and lean a bit on this wonderful community.
Be sure in the knowledge that everyone here has been through the same process. We've all come from knowing little, stuck to the lessons and assignments, stuffed it up, asked for help, revised our plan, thought about quitting, set new goals, and gone back to work. Really!
Consider that when you started you were committing to learning a whole new skill set (very similar to becoming a Computer Analyst, Doctor, Nurse, etc). You had decided to make a change in your life to get a different result (more money, be creative).
Building your online website business is similar in some ways to building a house, you wouldn't start putting the walls up before you had created some solid foundations (you don't want it to come crashing down later?)
Time is on your side in the online world. But there is one simple fact that you can't change, no amount of money or influence can change this. Google will take about 6 - 12 months to fully recognize and start to rank your website posts on the first page.
You can certainly help this process by posting daily to your website, following top SEO format, and choosing long-tailed keywords that don't compete against the big companies.
But during that time will be your education (foundation) phase and it can be a steep learning curve. Try to embrace the journey knowing that if you stick at it, soon you will be getting traffic and seeing the results you desire.
Remember, you're not alone, your cheer squad is here to share the ups and downs and encourage you to stick at it until you see results.

Great advice Lily! I am certain that all of us here have considered quitting at some point when things aren't going as planned.
We need to take the rough with the smooth!
Some things work for us as individuals, some do not!
Failure only happens when we give up! If something doesn't work for us, find another angle, then another until we find what is best for us individually!

You really understand this process. It seems strange that people feel bad about saying they considered quitting, but we all have that feeling at some point. After a few times, you can laugh at it and say, " oh you again! No, I'm not quitting.' Lol
It's all about how you handle those moments.

Wow! That is a nice inspiring article. I can relay on that as I did not do much during my first year and almost quit along the way. This month, I decided to step forward one step at a time day by day. Absolutely, it is hard and challenging...it is really true, "Nothing worthwhile comes easy".
The WA Cheer Squad helps me a lot. Even though, I just started all over again, I realized that the time is always in my side. It is just embracing the process of learning and applying the knowledge with my online business journey. It also came into my mind that if others can, maybe, I can do much better.

Write about what you are interested in, learn more about it, blog every day if you can, and say to yourself that "I am in this for the long term"
I myself have a primary, long-term website and I do make other sites for fun and try things out on them to see if they work. If they do, then I incorporate them into my main site, that way everything stays as it should be.
It's a marathon, not a sprint and if you want online success then you should be looking long term. Leave the get-rich-quick scams to the scammers and concentrate on making your website as good as you can make it. Top Tip: Keep it simple...people like simple.

I have not actually considered quitting WA because I know from interacting with the community here that it works and it can work for me.
I do need to focus and let go of my misconceptions regarding my previous career, but once I manage to do that I will be ok.

What a great reminder for many of us! Having the resilience and perseverance to stay on is so important and making it fun while doing it, is the formula for success I think! As long as you put it in your head that this is a fun thing to do and having the curiosity on how things will pan out, it will keep you motivated to stay on course.
