Are You Too Old To Learn An Internet Business?

When IS old too old? I say Never in my mind! You truly are as young as you feel. The years may pass but hopefully they bring us some wisdom. We've had time to make some mistakes, take the knocks and learn to adapt.

The greatest lesson in life is easy!

Somewhere in amongst the years slipping past, it's a good time to realize that as soon as you stop learning, stop growing mentally, you are building a box. And if you leave it too late to find an attitude of learning and growing, you may not be able to adapt to what life throws at you.

You need an attitude of learning!

Keep that Grey matter growing by stretching a little each day.

You can guarantee that there will be a few nasty surprises waiting around the corner. Not because you've been bad. But because as we age and the world whirls past, we need to find enough money to pay the bills, care for our family and have a little fun too.

The Truth!

Our world is changing faster than ever. For the generations who came off the farms into the

industrial age, it would have been a huge change in how they thought. Their lifestyles became city bound, and many of their parents couldn't adapt, so the children went to the cities and sent money home.

You and I (the Babyboomers, the after war children, the new mums and dads) face another staggering change in how the economy will run going forward. The Technology age is upon us and life will never be the same!

Shopping for food and such will change to online, shops that we grew up with will shut or change. You can choose to be riding this wave of change or crying that it has changed.

Many of you are still working and won't be able to retire, because contrary to popular belief, most people can't afford to stop work. They don't have enough super or own their homes and the governments worldwide are running out of money with an aging problem.

We will all have to adapt. Young and old. It's a new exciting world. Scary but true!

What will you do?

Changing Your Perception

Getting older comes with some perks. You usually know what you like and can make decisions

fairly quickly. Maybe, you've seen a scam or two and know what to look for.

You have learnt that if you don't know, ask!

It's a well know secret (shh) that we all have memory problems as we get older. It happens to everyone, deal with it and have patience with those who are feeling the change. Give yourself the room and time to learn at a slower pace, it's OK!

Better late than never!

Rushing ahead and getting it wrong is a young mistake. You don't need to revisit that one.

The Internet business age is something you don't have to leave home to do. Now that's exciting, especially if you are semi-retired. You can pleat the learning, lessons and community into your life. Still, be active. Help your children with your grandchildren and even share your technology knowledge, with the future baby entrepreneurs that you are caring for. They already know how to run your phone faster than you do. lol

Crafting a future that you will love

Once you accept that you can learn new skills at any age and that it will be necessary for financial and health reasons. Than, it is time to choose.

  • What will your life be like?
  • Where will your money come from to live daily?
  • What would stimulate your mind?
  • What hobbies can you do that make you smile?
  • How can you combine making an income with something you love doing?

You have the perfect platform to change the way you think about all this new technology, learn and make new friends in our happy, supportive community.

A perfect solution to growing older (not old) as no-one grows younger!

I intend being online well into my 80s, as we all need a community. Enjoying many new friendships, that I have made already. I look forward to building my businesses and helping as much as I can.

Please share any tips or secrets to learning, that you may have hidden away. There are lots of

clever, experienced people here at WA.

Thanks my new family.❀

Love

LILY

It's definitely about learning new skills and not being afraid to. But that's not enough to succeed.

The fact is, we have to be authentic in this Internet marketing game. I've seen a lot of people get on here with images of themselves looking 30 years younger than they are. Or images of dogs, puppies, weird icons that are supposed to represent them somehow.

That will prevent them from being authentic when doing videos, for example. People aren't images of cats or birds, or pictures of themselves from long ago.

Many that are older need to realize they are going to be competing with 20-30 year old wiz kids and the thinking of that generation, in order to get them to buy from people like us, 30 years older than them, that they don't respect and trust automatically. Yes, there is a huge market out there, but not all of it is available right away.

Facing these things, and dealing with them, is going to be two aspects that older marketers are going to need to do.

WA is great for the pep talk about possibilities, and that's great as far as it goes. Pep talks are not practical talks, though. Cheering people up and giving them hope is one thing, but they also need guidance as to proper mindset and the obstacles being faced.

I think you get what I am saying here. cheers, Marc

Great points Marc.
It's about being real.

At 71, I can honestly say that staying active online and constantly learning, has contributed greatly to a healthy lifestyle and ability to contribute to society.

I became certified as a Hypnotherapist at 69 years old and discovered my "life mission" ...

Helping others, while helping myself, and staying young in thought and useful, to those around me.

I believe, through active learning and meditation, it is possible to keep the brain healthy and memory functioning!

Best wishes
Allan

Hi Allan, great thoughts and a wonderful passion. I think you have it nailed.

Wishing you a wonderful year
Be happy

Hi, Lily,

It's indeed scary. I was talking about this with my family not too long ago and it's a pity many of us can't look forward to retiring. We will have to look for ways to make a living.

As a Millennial, I'm somewhat familiar with technology but I'm not a techie either. I'm still having trouble with some technical aspects of my website. Still learning the ropes.

Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year!

Enrique

Hi Enrique, well at least you are aware and brave enough to try. You can only fail if you quit and all problems are solvable. Just ask if you get really stuck and keep smiling.
It's a journey that we all share in this community.

Some really cool reflections Lily, so true we are living in a world where our expectations may not be met as we age. the key is to look at creating our own futures, taking some control of our lives as we move through the ages.

The online world is the way to go, the thing that I really like is that at this stage the internet doesn't discriminate. We are all equal and there is something empowering about that.

If you are told you can't or you are too old, just strike out and create your own space.

That ad runs through my head about the guy who loved the razor that he used so much, he worked hard and brought the company that manufactured them.

In today's world, all things are possible.

great post enjoyed reading.

Alex

Lovely to see your comments Alex. I liked that add as well. It really does resonate with what we are trying to achieve here.

Wishing you a wonderful year
Lily 😊

Classic aye, we kind of get conditioned to a certain way of thinking, when we merge into the online world, the possibilities are ours to grab.

Just on a side note, I hope that you and your loved ones are weathering the firestorms, okay, my heart bleeds for you guys.

We are out of the direct line now Alex but 2 months ago 3 fires were just down the road and it was night in the day. Very scary.
The sky was choking and the sun blood red.
We are worried about family closer to Melbourne in Victoria. We've lost 1000 homes already. The navy is evacuating people off the beach. We've lost people, businesses and towns.

Australia is crying!
This will kick the government to change its climate policy we hope.

Thanks for your concern.
Hugs

I think one of the things that you develop as you get older is a better perspective of the things around you. For example, you learn to understand that people can go out of their way to present the "big picture" that they want the world to see, or even believe about themselves. And that "big picture" can fool you when you're younger.

However, as you get older you often come to understand that it's the small things that can't be planned or rehearsed. They come out because they are part of who you are---more precisely they reveal who you are.

In short, as you get older you become more aware of how the world and people who live in the world reveal themselves. I think this kind of knowledge makes it possible to obtain all others.

Thabo

Very wise words Thabo. The message is in the detail. I always watch what people do to see the real person. We are expected to present ourselves to society one way only, so many people become good at a facade.
Deeds ring true.

Have a wonderful year
Lily 😁🎡

You as well, Lily.
