A Heartfelt Thank You!
The fires in our area of the Mid North Coast NSW of Australia, have just been downgraded to Emergency from Catastrophic!
At 2am our time, the winds came through like a freight train bending many trees to the ground. Thankfully, in part to the awesome hard work and planning of our fire department they managed to control (not stop) any more damage to property for now.
The planes with water and fire retardant are out buzzing the fires this morning, to make sure as the day goes on that they are controlled. The wind in still howling as it moves further up the Australian coast.

With a tear in my eye, I thank you all so much for keeping me company through a long night of worry. At present my family and friends here are safe. You made it bearable my caring WA family.

Thinking of you Lily, so glad you are safe. We have been in contact with friends and family from Port Macquarie to Tweed Heads so know how truly scary it has been. Just unbelievable really, and so incredibly sad for all the wildlife lost to the fires.

Here here!! I am only a couple of hours up the road from Lily and yesterday, to be honest, was a little scary. Digging myself into the laptop in WA was of great stress relief.
And although they probably won;t read this thanks to all those from the RFS who worked hours on end to save houses, livestock and of course, countless lives.
Thanks Lily for the post and glad you guys are safe down there. Port has been copping it more than most.

Glad to hear the fires are on the wane and that you are safe. Jim Kulk also write about the Aussie fires. We know that Australia is well represented in WA. Darren and Nicola hail from Australia too. All of you have been in my thoughts.
