Why Fiverr Logos won’t cut it for your business?

I know I’m going to get a lot of backlash for this so hear me out. I understand the reason why people use Fiverr for two reasons alone:

1. It’s cheap with quick turnaround time!

2. You can get a decent logo or whatever product out of it.

In my opinion, I rather work on my blog content for the first few months with a simple, default logo than spending $5+ on a logo that’s a short gratification that only ends up as a long time pain for your business.

I understand if you don’t have the budget for a logo. Think of it this way: An awesome logo would add more value to your blog or business because your audience will take you more seriously. You want to build trust and it’s your own identity that you are presenting online.

I also understand as a designer standpoint that they need the money to put food on their table or build a portfolio. The ultimate dagger that’s stabbing their business is they underestimate their talent.

Understanding your clients takes time!

Understanding their audience takes time!

Understanding their business goals takes time!

On top of developing a branding strategy, creating a brand, and many other elements is not worth the $5. Would you pay a plumber $5 for fixing your pipes? OF COURSE NOT!

You trust their years of expertise and skill. It takes time and let’s not pay for cheap logos. Your blog deserves an awesome logo! As for designers, know your worth and don’t settle for anything extremely low!

If your business or blog is growing tremendously, it’s time to level up! You can find graphic designers in Dribble, Behance, or even here in WA. Stay away from Fiverr, it's a trap! lol

Great information - very useful!

Thanks so much for sharing!

Something I understood in business, is you don't have to have everything perfect to get taking action. When I first started here, the goal was just to get blogging, and to blog alot. To this day..lol.. I still haven't got a header for my blog and it is just a title, subtitle and plain background. But I still get referrals and signups... from the content I write.

When I have time I will update my blog's header and maybe I will pay for it, maybe not, but it's not the 'initial' important part. But in saying that, it is good to brand yourself, or whatever you are promoting - that is for sure.

Exactly! There’s no pressure when it comes to getting a logo right away. For a beginner, learning how to set up a blog and make top quality posts should be the highest priority.

I should also note for people who are thinking ahead of furthering their blog (making a clothing merchandise, YouTube branding, making products, etc), should consider a professional brand.

If you just want to treat your blog as a side hustle and nothing of it, that’s understandable.

Folks don't need to use designers. I paid just $1 to create my logo with Canva in under 30 mins and I have no design skills lol.

It doesn't even need to be flashy either, just something that represents you and your brand.

That's true! Nothing wrong with creating your own logo using Canva. The only downside is since you are using their platform, you have a few limitations when it comes to your brand.

It's super important to look at their licensing structure. When it comes to creative work in general, there's always licensing stuff you have to follow or else you have to pay a hefty price for it.

And since you are using templates from them, it may seem as unoriginal. It's great to use it as a base but if you are growing tremendously, mind as well upgrade your logo.

I think that people underestimate what you can get on Fiverr because they advertise a starting price of $5. I'm not sure what service they offer starting at that price but I haven't seen one.

I've not looked a logos, but I have looked into having videos created and the starting price was $30 per video.

That plumber could be charging a thousand bucks, but that doesn't make him/her a good plumber. But I do agree, that to keep from buyers remorse a person should look into whomever they want before purchasing services.

True about the plumber who overcharges and screws over people! This is where the reviews and testimonials come into play for their brand or service. Researching is super important especially if you are paying a lot of money for a service.

No matter if it's $5 to $100, people will still see Fiverr as a way to get good enough stuff for cheap regardless of their advertising. This brings back to the whole branding and how they are representing.

Fiverr, in my opinion, represents cheap labor due to their ads which attracts cheap business owners who don't see value in artists.

For me, I rather generate more income and pay talented people with great credibility, than some artist who sees my business as another paycheck.

I definitely agree. The way they advertise $5 $5 $5 does seem to make the people think of cheap labor. Fiverr could do a better job of representing the people who advertise for business there.

Smh- that talented person with great credibility does see your business as another paycheck. They just aren't going to say that to you. Without your business, they make no money.

However, we will have to agree to disagree. Fiverr may have a fault in the $5 purchase scheme but you can post a job free and evaluate those that apply. That's better than paying $100 for posting a job listing. Especially, when the majority of those people work multiple sites to increase revenue.

Not every talented person is like that. Some people love what they do and genuinely want to get to know you and your brand.

I think it's very important to build a strong working relationship with that person and see if you want them to help you out or not.

Bottom line: If you are going to invest in something moderate or high-end service, you need to build trust with the person you are dealing with.

It really depends on what kind of clients you want to associate with. Don't expect high end paying clients on Fiverr. Plus, there are way better sites to getting yourself out there like FB Groups/Pages, Reddit, Instagram (dm'ing them without being salesy of course and providing value), etc.
