My website gives an error 500 on some mobile browsers and apparently also on Mac. I have been in touch with the site support the whole weekend about all sorts of strange things

I am having the same issue who do I contact?

Good to know.

Last time I had an issue on the friday they said I could expect up to 4 days for a reply as it was the weekend. Carson will fix it just might take a couple of days. They must get hundreds of emails a day lol. Still very cool that they reply to them all :)

I got a reply, thnx :-)

You should know that in WA or any organization sequestered with e-mail access and web site postings, speed dial doesn't exist!

Figuratively speaking...hence the quotes...

It's the weekend. You can expect it to take longer for Carson to respond than it would during the week.

I am not able to verify Bing webmaster tools by using All in one SEO. It simply claims that the verification code is not found. Has anyone else encountered this and been forced

Make sure you have all the fields filled out and only paste the numbers nothing else

Yeah...doesn't work...only one field to fill in.

Solved by using FTP. Wondering why All in SEO is not working.

Hey Mira,

If you really want to know why, then this post may have the answer you seek: http://makeaweblog.com/submit-and-verify-wordpress-blog-with-bing/

Thnx, No answer for my question in this article, but I do already have a solution.

Sometimes users enter the verification code incorrectly Mira, that's why I shared this post. Pictures really are worth a thousand words.

Not the case for me. Tried it 3 times based on Kyles training. No luck.

Hi,
I, too, am having the same problem. Did everything Kyle said in the training and its still not working. Were you able to figure it out or find another way? Thanks

Which Wordpress plugin do you use for optimising images?

EWWW gets my vote.

Hey...if PAUL says EWWW, than THAT's IT!

Press On!

Arthur

Hi Hanna,
I use to use Smush but changed to EWWW, a much better optimizer.
Jerome

EWWW. Definitely is the best

Thnx, will give it a go. Not happy with my current plugin.

You will be very pleased

I use EWWW plugin Hanna. Seems to work well.

Thnx!

Images downloaded from Canva are not optimized. I don't use a plugin because I already have too many. I optimize everything using tiny.png before I upload it to my site. It's free and it takes seconds.

Thnx

A friend of mine suggested to me - TinyMCE Advanced but I never ended up using it myself.

I always work with Canva.com - It's mostly free with plenty of training on it here at WA and at their site.

Hope this helps.

Shlomo J

thank you, but I am not looking for a new image website, but rather a plugin, since apparently new google algorithm thinks 100KB images are too heavy for mobile devices (it's getting ridiculous)

Try the Plugin that I mentioned. Or use this website to make your images smaller! It's free too. https://tinypng.com/ and you can drag and drop it there, then download it.

In these times of avatars, I got my comment, which was long, insightful, talking about my own experience and contained two relevant questions, disapproved for the following rea

In one earlier discussion when I complained for a similar reason, Kyle claimed there can be no reason the comment is rejected if it is properly written. The truth is that the system is not good, this is obvious.

He also suggested that such cases are forwarded to him. So let him know.

I will, but unfortunately the system allows this and it is wrong in my opinion.

It is wrong for sure.

That's just wrong. There is absolutely no appreciation for the time and effort that goes into reading and commenting on an article or post.

I agree. It was 15minutes of my time wasted and this is just wrong reason.

I just disapproved a comment, which is something I very rarely ever do. But the comment was pure feedback describing the 2 column layout and image usage on the webpage.

Yes, there is no problem of disapproving the comment if it's not a proper comment, I have had to do this sometimes too. But there is a difference :-)

That means that the same person will disapprove an organic comment as well when it doesn't show that person's real name??Most of the people don't use their real names on the internet...
For me this a silly reason and comments should be rejected only when spam or when they are out of the topic ( like feedbacks)

Abdolutely. I agree on this. I rarely use my real name on the net!

That sucks and is bad manners. If they don't want your comment they can delete it and you will none be the wiser and life goes on. I disapprove of disapproving someone's comment it's like a slap in the face.

Thnx. Both surely felt so!

rejecting a comment based on the user's name? This is ridiculous! There are some folks who think they have to be picky and apply false high standards, because they know they'd get another one for their credits! If it was an organic comment, they wouldn't!

I know...it's ridiculous. And who knows, maybe they will also not accept organic comments with pseudonyms?

I have used site feedback to earn credits so far.

Great

Me too.

What's in a name? What if my real name is "TheBuilder", then?

It's ridiculous. I feel so sorry for you. You spend your precious time reading through the contents, thinking and typing the comments.

What about pen name, cyber name, nick name etc.?

After all what's in a name?

It's "siteComments", isn't it? It's the comments that we need.

It's not "siteRealName".

Yeah, I simply don't get it! It's internet, most people want to be anonymous. What differencr does it make if the name is real or not? Who signs their comments with their name? Not me for sure!

I like your WA username "ArtByHeart". So sweet.

Thank you! I would understand someone disapproving a comment from a person called:

'YouSuck' or 'RadomSwearWords' or 'RadomSexualInsults'

but my username/trademark shouldn't have any of these problems associated.

I have been banned from comments for six months and it is so unfair but something in the system is just not right !!!

I absolutely agree! The system should be renewed!

I think that is unfair to you. Perhaps an 'appeal' button could be implemented. You spent your time to read the content and give an honest comment. Many non WA members (normal people) use nick names or whatever to leave comments. Who really wants the world to see their real name...

Exactly! I also just don't get it. Appeal button seems to me a really good choice.

Whether or not it is a 'valid' reason, the fact remains that any site owner can approve/disapprove comments for whatever reason that they like. Personally, I stick to providing feedback (can't be disapproved) to earn credits and then request comments (I rarely disapprove them). That's just my .02.

Thank you for your insights Mel. I find the whole system completely unfair to be perfectly honest based on the fact that I am at the mercy of the website owners whims. Giving site feedback sounds like a better deal, true.

Have you tried contacting Kyle or Carson personally regarding this issue Mira?

I will try to do this.

Yes, ask support, they must attend to this....

Thanks T

Well, I can only ask the support things related to the hosting...

Yes, you're right, then definately Triblu's suggestion, I've always gotten a response within 24 hrs - let us know when it's solved☺

Unfortunately NO, since the site support is only helping with the hosting issues, not issues with this platform!
