Thoughts on Jetpack by WordPress
For the most part, I like Jetpack - if used judiciously. Most of the features specific to WordPress.com aren't all that (and, afaik, not kosher for our sites here if they make constant calls to WordPress.com). And it did use to be buggy as hell, but that seems to be in the past.
The features I use it for are getting Twitter feeds & Facebook Like boxes in widget (easier than any other plugin I've used), Omnisearch (so much easier to find my own content; not sure how this is w/ sites here) and Widget Visibility (a feature that should be included with WP). The improvements to WP's native galleries are really nice too.

What say you - yea or nay?

You know that for WA hosting jetpack is a NO.
It's not that simple, not all the features make the external calls that are verboten here.
I do reall know that, but even I who is not hosted at WA wouldn't use jetpack, because it's always slowing down your website and most, I say most, of other plugins offering the same service are better than the intergrated jetpack features ( sidebar widgets, social features aso).
For me a wp world without jetpack is a better world.
But this is only my opinion.
But thanks for sharing.
Whether it slows your site down depends on what features you use and whether they are making the constant calls to WordPress.com. As with any plugins, the more plugins you use, the more resources are used.
I' m really not a newbie but I don't want to start an endless discussion on Jetpack, it's my personal experience and I'm not alone.
Did you actually read my review on which features I found useful/not useful?
