I liked this....how are you? Haven't heard from you in a minute or two!

I'm good - busy with building out the membership site I'm working on. I had delay for a couple of weeks as I had to switch affiliate systems (after being misled on a feature I needed), then had to deal with hosting issues in order to get an ssl cert and that resulted in my membership plugin settings getting messed up somehow - so now I'm reconfiguring it all over again! I'm shooting for a soft launch in January so I'm just chipping away at it :)

Please put more on your. 'Invite' list....ok?

Not sure what you mean?

you're making a membership site? for something YOU will be running? or at least that's why I asked.....I'd join in a hot minute if it's yours....lol

Doh - I didn't see the autocorrect type that 'more' should've been 'me'.

Everyone here will know about it and there won't be any invites needed when it's open.

YAY!!!!! I'm a big mouth anyway....it would have been in the NEWS...lol

I like his comment about always protecting the down side. He has some good advice for those trying to raise a family and create a business.

That's so important - and what made me think of sharing it here :)

Good advice

Thanks!! :)

Thank you for sharing! Christa :)

Sound advice

Mostly good sound advice. However, there are two ways of looking at this. While starting a business working in your spare time and doing a full time job is safer, that all depends on how safe that job really is. The answer is that NO job is ever safe because you are an employee and have no control over how that business is run while you DO have control over your one.

There is no such thing as job security. That is a lie. You were hired and can be fired at any moment whenever that company decides or needs to do so. In your own business you must focus all your energy on setting it up to succeed at all costs and YOU control the outcome.

Regards to all.

Stephen & Jennifer.

Very true and sad that most people don't realize this.

I also take issue with Darren's 'it takes $5-10k' to start a business - we know better here at WA ;) Still, good advice overall.
