Hi - Google is constantly crawling the internet looking for new things to add to its search engine. All websites get indexed at some point, whether they have any content or not.

Following on from that, each article you write will be indexed individually as Google finds them.

Okay, thanks for the information! I was just quite curious and confused since I have got another website which I have spent alot of time designing and putting up content for with the right keywords, and that hasn't been indexed yet.

Yes, it can be quite random as to how Google works. Remember, this is just indexing, not ranking, so Google is not looking at keywords initially, just anything that looks new.

Ranking doesn't happen for several months. This is when Google decides which page of its search results to feature your posts on. This is when your keywords come into play.

Hi, meaning google has found your site and now time to start adding content if not doing so already.

The recommendation is 2 -3 posts a week a niche a site and that's for the foreseeable future.

Well I am quite aware of it means, but I am quite confused as to why Google has found since it's got 0 keywords and 0 content. I have got another site where I have spent alot of hours and days making content, and putting up 1 article with the right keywords but that hasn't been indexed yet.

That's really great I would be happy. All sites will sooner or later gets crawled and indexed.

Hey I am Lula.
Can I learn from your experience if you do not mind?
Wishing you a terrific day.

Hey Lula! Sure, what experience do you want me to share with you?

Thanks reading your notes. I am here nearing one month.

How has your one month on WA been then? Do you mind exchanging a few words and insight?
I am still unsure what experience you want me to share with you. Could you please elaborate.

A newsletter perhaps

You can do Aweber, free for the first 500 subscribers.

What's that?
So there is no way I can set it up with WordPress?

You may want to look at below link if any help

https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-an-alert-bar-in-wordpress/

It is like a newsletter or opt-in where your visitors input their email address for further updates or newsletter. It is email marketing to start building your list, as the money is in the list.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/classes/email-marketing-walkthrough

https://wordpress.org/plugins/notification/

That sounds good, but not what I really had in mind.. I don't want to want to update my users through email, but just a simple update on the site itself within the "post" widget.

Try last link plugin in above comment.

Here it is https://wordpress.org/plugins/notification/

Still quite unsure how to notify people on the website, whenever a image is put up.

I don't want to send out emails.. But I just want a section on the site itself - whether that being a widget that says "Recent added images" which will then take the users to where the image is put up.

More explanation on below and other resources

https://ultimateblocks.com/best-wordpress-notification-plugins/

Well the first plugin named Notification X is kind of what Im looking for but still not quite.

That's their comparison chart try the free version first.

https://notificationx.com/free-vs-pro/

Where do I download and install the free version?

From your WrodPress sites back office

Plugins > Add new, look for NotificationX - please make sure it is compatible with your theme. Install and activate.

Or download form below link and upload to your WordPress site.

I'd like to only branch-out the following category named "Gallery" - make it unclickable. So the users don't end up clicking on subcategories until they get to the last sub-ite

As mentioned in Live Chat

"In that case, if you only want it to branch out, change the unclickable items to Custom Menu Items and use # as the Location/URL/Address".

Awaiting your screenshots that are also coming for clarification ;-)

Based on your screenshot and exact requirement you would remove "Gallery" and "Birds Of Prey" from your current menu, then replace them with two Custom Links. The URL for each of them will be just # and the Link Text will be "Gallery" and "Birds Of Prey" respectively. Then drag them into the correct position on your Menu and then place the existing "Buzzard" below "Birds Of Prey".

Yeah.. I figured it out haha. Thanks once again! I shall provide you the screenshot!
Hope it makes sense.. This was the menu I was talking about which I just wanted to branch-out, until the very last sub-item which should only be clickable.

For awareness, the # just reloads the current page if someone actually clicks on it, rather than taking you to a new/different page.

Yes! This is exactly what I wanted. Do you think it is a good idea? Keep in mind.. My site is based around wildlife-photography.. And as you can see in the screenshot the category is named "Gallery". I wanted to make it easier for the users to find pictures of the animals I takes photos of by categorising them into species and then subspecies. So I thought having the website loading up an empty page when clicking on a species would be ridiculous.

I agree that this will work in the short term, but ensure that you tag your posts with all of the relevant categories. I.e. a Post about Buzzards should have the following categories assigned to it "Gallery", "Birds Of Prey", and "Buzzard". Once you have enough posts under the "Birds Of Prey" category, you can replace the Custom # Link with the actual Category of "Birds Of Prey". Then do the same for "Gallery".

Ahh I see. I am still quite unsure about "Posts, Tags, etc." For example the last sub-item which is clickable named "Buzzard" looks like this when you click on it on the menu:

Are those images on a Page or a Post, or are those images the Featured Images of multiple Posts?

Those images are on the page called "Buzzard" as you can see on the screenshot:

Since I have got a "Recently Added Photos" and "Recent Comments" Widgets on my front page isn't there a way I can put posts (adding images to the already existent gallery) on one of my pages, respectively the "Buzzard" page and my users would directly get redirected to that specific page where the gallery is?

Or is there a way where I can notify my users whenever I put a "image" up in on of the galleries, like I could have done by using "posts" -> Recent posts

Hi
You can either delete than menu and put it back when you are ready to put articles on it

Or use this tutorial to make it unclickable

To give you an idea.. My menu looks like this:

So I want the following to branch-out and be unclickable:

"Gallery->Birds Of Prey -> Buzzard"
The only clickable part should be the last sub-item "Buzzard" or "Rough-Legged Buzzard"

I am not sure what I am looking at but you can watch the tutorial I provide or do what Chrystopher and Abie have suggested

I have just figured it out! Thanks for the quick feedback and help! I have never would have guessed that adding a "#" would do the trick.. The video was quite helpful! :)

You are welcome

I'd add # in the category under Appearance > Menus.

Then you can go onwards adding sub items and repeat same process if you want the sub item branched out but unclickable.

So on so forth.

Where would you add the "#"?

Hi - having a .net doesn't hinder your success. However, I note there is a website already well established with a similar name that also focuses on wildlife photography.

https://www.eyeofthewildphoto.com/

This is a problem. They will compete for the same brand name.

As long as you like it and it relates well with your niche it's all good.

And as for it being a .net you're fine there as well. There are countless profitable .net business websites

If you like your domain name and it is relevant to your niche, you will be fine!

Well I do like it, but I have read online that ".com" is prefered when wanting to do business online.

And I want to do business online and make money.

Some people will type the .com version of your site because it is more common. This is the only issue. But there are many successful .net and .org sites.
