I Broke Into the Top 50 Today For the First Time
Imagine my surprise when I logged in this morning to find that I have broken into the Top 50 at #49! I love being ranked this high, but it surprises me how far up I have come because I am still in my first 90 days here.
I know there is an algorithm to how people are ranked. I know that there are different areas that are considered, including writing content (which I feel I am very low on).
I have never set the rank here to be a goal of mine, because I feel I should concentrate on things like researching content for my blog.
I have established the framework I wanted for my website and the goal now is to build on that foundation and further monetize my site through product reviews.
In fact, I have three or four articles that should come out this week (two of the product reviews, one of them further foundation and the other being a piece on the research that has come out in the field this week.
I love being a part of this community. I love reading the blog posts that everyone writes and I love answering the questions. I sometimes do not know the answers, but will read the responses to them so that I can learn from them.
I have learned a lot and I have a lot of plans made to further my goals. I have learned a lot along the way.
- I can use my training and education in English and Journalism to write my blogs as far as sentence structure is concerned, but I must lay aside my old concepts of what constitutes a paragraph. To this end I have learned to break my writing up into smaller, more digestible chunks.
- I have learned that I am physically stronger than I thought I was. I had literally been spending most of my time in my bed because of health issues for several years and I feared coming out of my hiding place.
- I have learned SEO. For me this is a big thing. I knew nothing about how things got on to the internet and how they got ranked in the various search engines.
- I have learned that while Google is one of the biggies out there, it is not the only search engine that people use. In fact, depending on the web browser they are using, they may never use Google. This I think may become very important if Net Neutrality is lifted.
- In searching for ways to help my readers to overcome migraines, I have found a way to overcome my own chronic migraines for the first time in my life and I did so through interacting with others here.
- The more I write, the better and more efficient I am at writing. I think this is something that happens to us all. At least I hope it is.
- I have learned that content is King. Writing good content that has been carefully researched will get you ranked higher in Google, as well as increasing rank here at WA.
- I have learned to better refine and plan my goals, not just for my business but also in my personal life. I have always used goals, just not always efficiently.
- I can better deal with the major stressors in my life now that I am out of that bed and doing more. When I was doing nothing but watching reruns, these stressors consumed me. Now I process them and move on much more quickly.
- With the help and encouragement from the community here, I have learned to respect myself all over again.
What are some of the things you have learned in your journey here at WA?
Anita

I honestly thought you have been on here for many years Anita! That is fantastic about your ranking! You are an inspiration in more ways than one!
I hope to meet you in Vegas one day! :-)
Thank you so much! I just joined at the end of September. I am a fast learner though. Always have been. I would love to see you in Vegas! One thing at a time, though.
Awesome Anita, congrats! I haven't forgotten about the other topic. I need to take James to the bus station shortly and will back at work later today. I'll send you a message tomorrow morning. Peace my friend! :-)
Congratulations, Anita! Including all of the things you listed above, I've learned that WA has many extremely generous members here who truly want to help others with passion and sincerity.
Wishing you all the best,
Sue

Amazing stuff Anita. Congratulations!
I too originally thought you've been with this lovely group of people much longer than 3 months.
You are certainly an inspiration and somebody to look up to and respect. Keep going, maybe in the next 3 months you can knock Kyle or Carson off the top 2! :) ;)
I somehow doubt that is going to happen. Thank you for the warm congratulations!
