What is OUR BENEFIT on our Capture page and how IMPORTANT is it?

So now that we are getting into truly building our email list. We need to use a capture page to "capture" that invaluable information. Which is Our readers email address and name. Yes?

But also on that page needs to be the benefit. The benefit? Wow whatever does that mean? We have to give our capture page some love.

Yeah, she says with a laugh..because if we do not list a benefit...why would our readers even consider giving us that prized information?

Huh, so Let's talk about this. Benefit.

What do we see as a benefit to our readers?

And why should they give us their email address?

The definition of benefit is : an advantage or profit gained from something.

That makes it pretty clear yes? But how often are we taking the time to ensure that our readers know what the benefit is?

For me it has been a bit of struggle to really define this.

So this is where I am with this...tell me if it makes sense to you.

If I go to Amazon and look for a product, I am hyper vigilant prior to purchasing that the benefits I will get from the product will live up to its hype. Right? You too?

We never want to be disappointed that the product does not have any benefit.

But then we take a step back and go, well before I even buy this what benefit am I wanting?

If I am buying a hair conditioner, I want to know what benefit this product will give to my hair. Will it make it shiny? Thicker? More curly?

And is that benefit stated clearly so I know that is what I will get?

Get the point? Well that helped me to see what I need to state on my capture page.

What benefit do I want my dear readers to understand they will be getting by subscribing to my list? Will I give them information that will enhance their world?

Does that all make sense? So what is your benefit? Can you be really clear in one or two sentences? Because if we can do that, then we can truly create and grow our list.

And then we have learned to earn yes?

So here we go...write down the benefit of being on your email list. . And refine it so that it gets the point across in a way that is engaging and evocative.

Go to it. Because we all have amazing benefits to offer. We just need to state them well!

Hi Ariel.. This actually turned out to be a relly good question for me. I started my website and it was still quite broad and then with every post the content seemed to define the specifics of my niche a little bit more....and now the question of what is my #1 benefit that i offer to my audience really helped me understand the difference between a really really broad approach hoping for traffic and sales v's a clearly defined niche with a purpose that solves my customers problems.

I think that the capture page is the cream of the crop. It should be expressed in. an eye catching way. More importantly, it should deliver the message that you want them to know with vigorous, and enthusiasm.
