Do we know our "why"?

Yesterday as I was perusing YouTube looking for my daily dose of what do I need to learn today...I found a few videos on a topic that I thought I had given some thought to...but perhaps not as fully .

Simon Sinek wrote a book called Start with Why, Have you heard about it?There is also a TED talk. In it he talks about we always know our how and what...but rarely do we spend enough time formulating what our why is.

Hmm...oh no..my brain on overtime! Help...

And he makes the point that Steve Jobs made his "why" his mission. People who buy Apple products are fully invested in the why. Because Jobs made an emotional plea to attachment. He used words that said, this product will intuitively work with you.

See what I mean? If I heard those words, I would quickly whip out my credit card, yes?

And what Jobs truly did was challenge the status quo. He went beyond the computer makers of the time and reached into a personal value that had been overlooked. He made that connection so real.

And that is how Apple became so popular. And the most amazing part. to me, that with that tweak and incredible vision, it became the way people also defined themselves then. We ask each other this now, are you an Apple or PC person?

And we have a definite perception of each, yes?

Wow that is a huge wave change, yes?

Talk about branding and getting the why, yes? How do we make that happen for us?

And so that got me thinking. What is my WHY?

Why do I do this?

And then I saw another video by Jay Shetty, that said it all comes down to three E's.

Element, Environment and Energy.

Whew! Well here at WA we have not a problem with energy that we put out..yes?

But what about our environment too? Are you we working in a space that creates and promotes our success? And then the element, what is the most important part of our business that shows who we are? Can you answer these for yourself?

But back to our Why. Here is what I am beginning to understand.

Do tell me if this works for you too.

My Why:

1. I want to be of service

2. I want to be successful

3. I want to challenge the status quo of how we all have this opportunity to be whatever we put our effort into

4. I want others to know that YES WE CAN is not just words, it is how we live.

5. I am determined that none of us have to live in poverty

6. I want to know that changing our thinking is changing our lives

7. And mostly my WHY is knowing that at 65 years old, I am now truly the CEO of my own life. And that means, I am wiling to be willing to do whatever it takes to open my world to amazing new vistas. And If I can make that happen, anyone can.

So I think that specifies or at least helps me to define my WHY...what does yours look like?

And how are we insuring that our WHY shows up in our business?

Yup, time for another manifesto to be written.

I am making this happen on the NOW plan! What about you?

And lastly... this quote so made sense... do laugh at it.

PLEASE TELL THE NEGATIVE COMMITTEE IN OUR HEADS TO SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!

And another one from Priyanka Chopra, Let your dreams fly and give them wings!

This one is now going to be posted on my desk!

In peace and gratitude, and watching everyone's wings sprout!

I love this post. It's just what I needed today. You always write wonderful and amazing content.

So, here are at least a few of my "whys", off the top of my head.

The most important to me:
1. To be helpful. To reach out into the world and let people who are like me know that they are not alone. They do not have to work in jobs they don't absolutely love. They don't need to settle for anything less than who they truly are.

The rest, in no particular order:
2. To be educational and able to help people steer clear of the lies and embrace the truth.

3. Be successful and be able to showcase my success and help pave the way so others can see that they can reach their dreams.

4. To help support my mother and father as they grow older.

So, thank you again for this post. I love the quotes at the end, especially the first one.

Take care.

Ahh sounds so great. And I know with your heart you will soar well ! Looking forward to hearing more about your journey. Thank you for being here.

Hey, I know I do this. I started this because of my family, wanting to give them something that would last when I was gone if they maintained it.

Now their is another reason, although, I may not be very good at Affiliate Marketing yet, I am addicted to it!

I hear you..great why..and I am too truly loving each moment..so glad we are sharing this adventure. Thanks for being here.

I love your Why's Ariel, especially no. 1 & no.7. I wrote a post on a similar subject recently and got some amazing responses from members. My Why's centre around being of service as well... to my family and to my audience.

I am off to read your post..which I know will be beyond spectacular! So happy to see you. Hugs and more

Hi Ariel! I have a post on my website, "Why Am I Here." It's a blog giving similar perspective to your post here and having people think about their WHY. It is truly an important step in climbing the ladder of success! Great post--an interesting take with essential ideas! I LOVE IT!

Great minds think alike???? I remember reading your post it was so beautiful. Well Maybe someone we should guest blog or wro5te an article together?
You are so right..we need to always know our why.

Yes, I suppose I created similar blogs, but yours is much more in-depth and superior! My specific blog is on my site.

Your posts always expand my knowledge! XOXO

Great post Ariel!

Are you familiar with "A Course In Miracles"? My lesson today (#25) was "I do not know what anything is for" - a reminder that unless our personal individual mind is relaxing into guidance from the shared mind of our Higher Self we will not be clear on how to direct our activity. Appreciating the value of this approach to living helps me to stay clear about my "Why?"

At this page of my website: http://store.imaginepeaceandplenty.com/philosophy-imagine-peace-plenty I have attempted to put into words how working with my "why?" has shaped my approach to building my business.

Thanks again for your "Do we know our Why" article. I love the way you think and also the way you apply images to enhance the impact of your words.

Friendly Regards,
Chris

Hello Chris, I am so glad this resonated with you.And thanks for the lesson.it is so true I think that alignment is the only way.So glad you are here.

Great! Looks like we are likeminded teammates then, Ariel. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.

I do hope you will sign up for mailings from my website - at www.imaginepeaceandplenty.com. I think you will find the material there to be supportive of your efforts. - Take Care, Chris

Hello, Ariel. May I make your Why, my Why? Assuming you agree, here goes:
1. I want to be of service
2. I want to be successful
3. I want to challenge the status quo ...
4. I want others to know that YES WE CAN is jus not words, it is how we live
5. I am determined that nove of us has to live in poverty
6. I want to know that changing our thinking is changing our lives
7. And mostly my WHY is knowing that at 72 years old, I am now truly the CEO of my life ...

Thank you very much for the inspiration.
Mojalefa.

Ahh Mojalefa....you are so beautiful at 72! Congrats to you! And yes yes yes..use if however you want! I know you are soaring well!

Thank you, Ariel.

I really enjoyed that book. Definitely gets you focused on your motivation. Mine is to teach my girls that an old dog can learn new tricks and it is never the wrong time to improve at anything. I have set up self limiting beliefs that I want to prove can be overcome. Thanks for the reminder.
Josh

Wow Josh, sounds like you are truly motivated and knowing your direction. I so look forward to hearing how you are doing. Great advice you are teaching your girls. Thanks for being here.

Well done! At the age of 60, I now know just how vastly important it is to know our WHY. I order for life to be lived to its fullest, there must be a purpose, and it must be a high purpose. It must be a purpose that, at once, both pulls and pushes you to a higher state of mind and being. Once you can find that WHY, you'll find the many smaller WHY's we encounter, will simply fall into place. One of my favorite inspirational quotes comes from Jeremiah 29:11.

“For I know the plans I have for you, Says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

All my best for your future!

Hello Mark, so lovely said. Thank you. And yes it is our higher purpose our calling that truly lifts and soars us. So glad you are here.

Hi Ariel
My why is manifested in my logo

"In Helping Others We Prosper"

and I believe in it to the end.
Simple and easy to remember and work towards, the world is filled with people, so we are not alone, help where help is needed, Simple.

All the best

Gary

I hear you Gary, may your life always be prosperous in showers of blessings. Thank you!

Thanks to you Ariel.

Gary

Happy Sunday, Ariel.
I know my why and I keep it on a post-it note that's in front of me at all times when I'm working. Keeps me focused and on course especially in my moments of doubt - which have been pretty frequent lately.

Thanks, Ariel. Always inspiring and uplifting.

Oh that is so great Steven! Glad to hear it. Keep soaring!

I'm trying
