Are we sweating the small stuff? arggh

It dawned on me the other day that I have learned something really valuable.

And I actually thought I had known this forever. But the reality is, I wasn't living it.

So wanna know what it is?

Potential does not live in the small stuff. But potential does live in the important details.

Hmmm, what does that mean?

Don't sweat the small stuff! We have bigger oceans to swim.

Well here comes a story.. OK...laugh, another one of those??? yup..

So I am working on my first E book as a freebie for my email list. And as a former newspaper editor, I am prone to spend way too much time on layout.

Yeah, I know you feel me.

So I am worrying about fonts and white space and sub headings and colors and..well the list was endless...all important stuff, yes?

And I am so involved with the graphics being just right, that I realized I had spent an hour aligning two pages!

Huh, what is wrong with this picture?

Yup, I had completely missed the point.

Instead of celebrating the fact that hey, I could now create a PDF that could go global...(wow, did she really say that?), I am concentrating on what most people would not even notice.

So I used my time, my potential making money time, on something that was not worthy.

That does not mean we do not want our Ebooks to be fabulous... that means that when we sweat the small stuff, we lose the sight of potential...does that make sense?

Instead of one hour on graphics, I needed to focus on how my audience would see the value of this product. And whether or not my graphics were perfectly aligned was not going to be more value induced. (That was hard for me, I am so visual)

It is just my obsessiveness.

So does that make sense?

We cannot allow the small stuff to be our time suckers. It is not worthy of us.

We are living in the NOW of absolute potential.

So what's it going to be?

It's actually a metaphor for life isn't it?

How we choose to see this process is how we can determine our success.

So, go grab a piece of chocolate and get to work on creating success.

No sweating the small stuff allowed anymore! Ok?

WE are WA'rs.... we know how to create potential and infrastructure, because we are just starting to see how amazingly powerful and successful we are.

So stand up to your success.

We are so worth it!

In peace and gratitude,

Hi, Ariel is funny but I don't sweat small big or any kind of stuff. The only time I sweat is when I workout in the gym. Lol.

Whatever we learn we take action, whatever we learn and don't take action, we know what the results will be. But we have to remember all though we learn everything, it is impossible to do everything. Just saying.

If we focus on one or a couple of things as kyle mention, it can really build our business to success. my major focus in all my training is mastering lessons 6 in WA Bootcamp, and I am not even sweating that. Lol. Thank you for the encouragement.

Well said David! And for the i am so loving the WA experience that even when i realize i am a bit stressed.. i am still having fun. It is quite extraordinary, isn't it? thanks so much for being here..

This is coincidental I guess ... but before I even knew what this article was about...
I started reading your article ... and the first thing that came to my mind was "ok she uses lots of graphics and colors in her articles which makes it seem less long to read" and then I continue on to read not to sweat the small stuff. May be I, like you notice the small stuff and I do spend my time on smaller, sometimes less significant details. Thank you for sharing ... We are Worth it ... love it!!! On to significant learning this morning!!

There you go, Renee..let me know how your world is evolving.ok?Thanks so much for being here.

In the long run, it is all 'small stuff' - just don't sweat!

On John.. you are so right..and its what we choose to do with it.yes? thanks for being here.

Mmmmm chocolate . . . oh, hi Ariel. Still working on Valentine's Day gifts. I'm old school and still trying to comprehend all this new fangled gadgetry. (The slide rule was my friend.) When you come in knowing nothing, you struggle to learn everything. Yes, I'm guilty, I probably spend too much time sweating over the small stuff, but in my defense, I sweat over the big stuff and the in between stuff too. At least I sweat equally.

I am getting better though, thanks to you and others like you. My self confidence has improved and I'm stepping out of my comfort zone a little more every day. Soon I could be a real boy!

Another great and informative post. Keep 'em coming. Always inspiring and entertaining. See you at the top.

Don

Don - this sentence really made me smile / grin actually - and I can totally relate to it. :-)

Hello Don, I think you are already just who you need to be. And as we go through this process we remember to have fun and know that this journey is a choice of potential. Who could not love that? So glad you are here.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Maybe I coined a new phrase. You've heard of sweat equity. Now we've got sweat equality. What do you think? Lol

Don.

I agree. I call it "majoring in the minor stuff." Thanks for sharing!

Hello Claudette, ohh i like that! Thanks!
