Do It Again!
Hello and Hope all is well on this Marvelous Monday.
Wanted to touch base and take stock on where I am and what I have been doing. Hard to believe that it won't be long till I hit my first year anniversary here in the WA platform. Time flies when you are having fun.
Do It Again!
Today I have re-started going through the OEC training modules. I have been through the entire training once, and I have revisited parts of it throughout the year. Today I decided to start at the beginning and work my way through the entire thing again.
When I started with WA back in 2020, I had big plans and some moderate goals set for myself. Well, we all know how this past year flipped upside down and inside out. I kind of ran through the training and rushed myself into a state of frustration by mid-year.
So, 2021 is a year to slow down, set new goals and get something real accomplished.
Right now, I am on level one, module 3 of the OEC training. "Choose My Niche" by Kyle is a great module. I was really happy to see that the training has been updated since the last time I went through it.
In addition to going through this module, I also found a training by one of our WA members DianeScorpio. Her training on "how to not overthink a niche" was a great help to me as well.

Even though, I already have a website started, my goal is to continue working on it with a better idea of what direction to go and to put some other ideas into practice.
What did I learn today?
I learned that,
- A niche can be virtually anything (just a recap)
- Pick one that you are incredibly interested in
- Narrow it down a bit, you do not want it to broad, but you don't want to back yourself into a corner either. (from experience)
- Don't Over Think It! (again from experience, lol)
If you are just starting out, make a list of all your interests and things you have experience in. Narrow your list down to the things that you are most interested in or would like to learn more about.
Then, choose your top 3 or 5. Can you think of at least 10 articles that you can write about each of those choices? Now, can you think of at least 10 more?
You are going to be writing about this subject a lot, remember that.
I am guessing that at this point, you will have narrowed your options down to 1 or 2 to start with for your website. Pick your favorite and get started and follow the training provided here at WA.
As Kyle says, your first niche does not have to be perfect. It will likely not be your only or last niche.
Well, it is getting late here and I have a big day tomorrow. More training and more action to do.

My takeaway is, practice practice practice, I mean Do it Again and don't overthink things. You will surely learn something new, especially as many rush through seeking an early beeline to the goldmine/money. Thanks Annette for the refresher, on one of the terms I had forgotten- niching down
As we know it takes time to learn, to be comfortable with what we learn and it takes time and lots of writing before we see results. I too have started going through the training for the second time round and I am understanding more this time. Like you I also have referred back to some lessons when needed. I am also comin to my first year in a couple of months time. Keep going and best wishes.
Get something real accomplished.
I like that little expression Annette and it is now written in my notebook.

Reading yours's and other members post that happen to came into this platform after me, and had reached so far into the lessen, put me to shame, but I tip my hat to all that are excelling greatly in your business. (I have an excuse though, :) they say you cannot teach a old head new trick) LOL. so it take me a little longer.

Learning is growing. Do not ever discount what you have accomplished and no worries on how long it takes you.
