Outsourcing Content? This May Change The Way You Think!

Hi people,

Here's a really quick post. As the heading says, it's about whether you should outsource your content or not.

Now, firstly, I know that outsourcing to Fiverr or Upwork has a lot of things associated with it, with cost being one of the major factors. But I wish to show you a video of some fabulous analysis done by none other than Jim Harmer of the Income School Project, that does swing the decision in favor of outsourcing.

If you do not know what Income School is all about, I suggest you check out a review or two of the program. I could link you to my review, but then people would cry hoarse about how I am self-advertising.

Please check out the video by Jim by searching for the following on YouTube:

How Much Do Blogs Earn in 2021? Things have changed.

My calculation after watching the video is something like this:

Say I plan to reach the magic figure of 500 posts this year.

I plan to write 100 posts myself.

I plan to outsource the rest of the 400 posts.

On average, I would pay $15-20 for a blog. That makes my total expenditure 400 blogs X $20 = $8000.

Judging by what Jim says, my rough income after 500 blogs should be anywhere in the range of $3,000 to $25,000. But it would usually be in the range of $10,000 a month.

Which means I will probably earn back all that I spent in just about a month. And I will be earning during the months that my website is being developed too, obviously.

There are a lot of imponderables, but I would prefer to look on the bright side. And be practical at the same time. Each blog outsourced will require a lot of amendments and corrections. But over time, your blog writers (authors) will get accustomed to your style and things will be easier.

I have outsourced some articles in the past, just to see how it works, and I have found that it has scope.

I just thought I should let you all know of this amazing idea. Please leave your thoughts in the comments section below. Feel free to be as critical as ever. Only through brainstorming can we all grow in the right direction.

With much love,

Aparna

If you need to create 400 to 500 blog posts to earn an income you really need to re-address your traffic strategy. With the abundance of traffic out there (the easiest part of all!) you should be rolling with anything from 200,000 to 250,000 sessions per month. That is only assuming 500 sessions per page average.

(Which is a low estimate, those who are incredibly tuned in and highly skilled at a number of traffic generation method inc SEO, Social Media, email video, etc can hit 1,000 mark).

Even assuming a much lower low end estimate of 300 sessions (which seems what income school is based around (give or take) 120,00 to 150,000 sessions and an EPM of US$80 (on the ok side/average, some here are hitting US$100 and even US$120) a quick calculation is you about hitting that US$10,000 month mark and certainly 6 fig annually.

Thanks for sharing - excellent post.

Thank you Derek. I'm glad you understood me so well. I was just trying to bring home the fact that with a normal website and reasonable SEO, I think a site with 500 posts stands a chance of earning really well.

I do hope some of us take a lesson or two from your excellent calculations.

Good morning Aparna,

Thank you for the interesting stats, I have also watched the video from Jim. I believe that with any business we have two invest, especially when we are getting started.

For example, with my off-line business, I started using Google AdWords to increase business leads, which worked! I have now cut the advertising budget considerably as I have plenty of business. I believe it's the same with an online business and hiring a writer, investing wisely, works!

Have a great day,

Roy

Thank you for the confirmation Roy. I too believe that investing sensibly would work.

It's a pleasure Aparna, investing in a business certainly does work in my experience.

My apologies for the late reply, my off-line business has been really busy.

Have a great weekend.

Roy

:)

A bit of both is a good idea and doing your own research another good idea Fiverr has good and bad and some writers overcharge but promise a lot don't be fooled by Fiverr pro normal Fiverr is fine. Look for writers that know what terms like response article stable posts pillar is and writers that can help with research. Try writing some the parts of articles yourself. Use Grammarly, Quillbot to help get sentences and paragraphs better.

Thanks, John. Some great information there.

Got a new writer after suggestions here- on the higher end of costs. Boy, wouldnt I love to make all that investment back in one year - hopefully things pan out as in this presentation ๐Ÿ™

This calms my heart a bit more about the investment on writers, thanks Aparna ๐Ÿ‘

Hmmmm ... I can see that blog writers are gonna get expensive on Fiverr :)

Good for you, Christorv. I've hired 3 myself today. Let's see what they come up with.

Great for you ๐Ÿ˜Š I went for the high end blog writers and native speakers so that comes with the associated cost

:)
