Who Gives A Crap About Your Blog?

We work hard researching, brainstorming ideas to write about, but in the back of your mind you can't help to wonder if anyone will ever read your blog post. What make you different from many other bloggers.

Besides, you are doing the same thing everyone else is doing, cranking out blog post two and three times a week. Sharing your blog posts on social media site Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn. commenting on other people blog etc. " you know what I'm talking about.

But who gives a crap about your blog, your audience has seen it all before, same old sales pitches, same old blah, blah. The problem is you're not offering your readers anything new, exciting, encouraging them to share your post or buy from you. So people are leaving your website and never returning.

To be frank about it "Why should they?

I have to admit, sometimes you feel like you are stumbling around hitting walls. when it seems like you're making progress you hit another wall.

You can't tell the good from the bad. It feels like a never ending story. Hurdle after hurdle.

I wrote this to help me and others find the answer. The real answer might be staring us in the face. The answer might in this post to why people don't give a crap about your blog.

I was reading an article the other day about ways to write better content. One blogger suggested that you should tell stories when writing a blog post. It might be true that people love reading stories, but some people are not good story tellers.

Most of us write stories that are boring and don't make sense to our reader. We try to tell a stories related to the topic hoping to become the next Steven King. Writing is hard and to be able to become a great story teller takes time.

You want to know what makes a good story teller? When you can stop people in their tracks to listen to what you have to say.

Then you are a good story teller.

My question for you " Are you a good story teller?

Some bloggers say to trust the proven method and believe in yourself. Well, I've been following this method for about 5 to 6 months now and nothing working.

Getting your work in the eyes of more readers is like learning to play the guitar.

It takes learning to become successful and practice to get good at it.

When thing doesn't go our way we feel like it's something wrong with the method, the trainer or teacher. It's not that at all.

It's because you're doing it all wrong. You need to practice and keep practicing until you master your goals. If you are lying around doing nothing to improve your business. Why should people give a crap about your blog.

People say build your list and build your circle of followers on your social media sites. Then you can start promoting your blog to drive traffic and comment to your article. Truth be known, that a real good strategy, but the ultimate strategy is FOCUS.

It's time to forget about trying to fit in,

It's time to stop buying things you don't need.

It's time to start focusing on your dreams.

If you want something bad enough, then you have to go get it.

The only way to do that, is by staying FOCUS?

People suggest that you write long blog post, 2000-3000 word is a good goal. Most of us bloggers who being around for a while know the Google like longer article. Plus your readers enjoyed longer blog so they can share it with other people.

Who give a crap about your blog, if you are not willing to put in the time and effort to stand out from the crowd. Most people are lazy to write a 500 word article let along 2000 word article.

My point is to get away from writing shorter blog post. Set a goal to achieve 2000 word article with 3 months. Write an article that will encourage your readers to share your post. Try your best to show your readers you care about them.

Wow there are so much I could say about this topic, but I going to take a break. I hope this encourages you to stay FOCUS! and go after your dreams.

"Most of us write stories that are boring and don't make sense to our reader." Well, I definitely would NOT classify myself in this category. I remember someone said something that stood out for me: If you ever say "I'm bored" then what you're saying is you're boring. In my thinking, my writing is never boring and always maks sense. So I believe that our writing has a lot to do with having the right mindset even before we start typing or writing our thoughts.

In terms of the length of the blog for our sites: I first heard that 1000-1500 words are good; then it was 1500-2000; recently I read 2100 + is a good target. UGH!!! So, I decided that I'll write what I'll write, and be OK with the fact that some posts will be 1500, others 2000 and some may even be under 1000. I'll combine great content with variety.

An Ambassador told me once that he has written blogs that were well under 500 words (I think he actually said one was 200 words!) And believe me when I say that his writing skill is very engaging!

Although there is a system in place, this is not a "one-size fits all", so we have to be open to making adjustments and revisions wherever needed.

Thanks for opening up this discussion, Anthony.

Thanks Veronica, for Commenting, I believe this is a subject that most blogger have question about. How many word should I write in post? In the beginning its hard to anyone to write 1500-2000 word post, I have read the 500 word does good. My opinion I would write whatever make me feel comfortable just make sure that your writing is engaging and providing value to your readers.

Absolutely, Anthony! A "seasoned" writer can write 3,000 words and have the reader wanting more; or just write 100 words and give the reader just enough information for the person to move forward. Practice...practice...practice...

I have written that many words in a post a couple times. Sometimes it's hard to write a 1000 to 1500 word blog. I try to get to 1000 word post. I'm a finger picker types. I failed typing when I was in high school.

Okay, Anthony.

Hello, Anthony. I think and believe that the laborer is worthy of his wages. And to be a laborer who is worthy of his wages you have to resolve the problems, pain points, of your customers. But before the customer can let you resolve his problems you have to earn his sympathy, trust, and loyalty. And indeed, you can tell emphatic stories to earn his sympathy. Your story doesn't have to be a long story. So 500 to 1000 words is enough and google knows that. It's a matter of visibility and helpfulness (offer to help resolve problems).

Eloquently said, Nelson.

Thanks Nelson that's true. I think we have to ask ourselves, what the purpose of this article, what message our we trying to send, So whatever its a short story and long story you still can provide value.

Hey Anthony.

At first I didn't like what you were saying and I didn't like the word "Crap". but your over all your telling came across very well.

I wasn't going to look at your Blog because of it . But I must admit that your point came across loud and clear.

It is amazing the amount of work that you have put in your writing. your headings are very well thought out . yes and I will take your advice and stay "focused".

There is always a better way, sending blessings your way,

Linda

Thanks Linda, for understanding don't mean to be harsh. Thank for sticking around and commenting

was my pleaser Anthony keep writing it is your Niche Linda

Hi Anthony I thought you did that blog very well and if your having problems making money on line then I gotta say oh crap!!! But then I had a pregnant thought about a few people I have known In my life. Like myself they were mostly average people but when they were doing the things they liked doing they excelled. Could this be a reason why we should find a niche that interests us, well one reason anyway. lol I guess what I'm getting at is that we need to write with the magic of who we are. Because I truely feel our individual lives is a magical thing. So with this in mind mixed with the power of true intent and coupled with belief in oneself and why we are doing what we are doing. We shall succeed. Ours is success and well being. Share the joy!!!

Awesome Comment Thanks Redsedge

Anthony makes some good points, especially about staying focused. We need to never lose sight of our goals, and stay very focused on what it is we are here for, and how we are going to get what it is we are seeking. I am not for longer posts, but for more and more proliferate shorter blogs. flood the world with them and let people know we have something for them. WA, it is a shining prize, let the world know about this pearl and do it often, and in a few very well placed words. Tom

Very well said, well done and we actually do care ... it's just harder when we can't see our audience and get an idea of how they're reacting to what our blogs are about ... spot on Anthony ;)

Thanks MPThomas for commenting

To be honest, I prefer a shorter blog. If a person can't say something in 500 words, I loose interest and move on....of course ..all WA member posts excluded! Debbie

It depends on the content for me; some people just have the ability to hold people's attention with 3,000 words!

Thanks Veronica for sharing your thoughts

It is true with so much information on the internet that people get lost in the run of the mill content.

You need to find a way to stand out and provide a fresh perspective.

Thanks Labman for sharing your thoughts

This is a great post, Anthony. You are hitting the nail on the head.
I think the starting point is you should believe in the product (whatever it is) you are trying to sell and it will reflect in your posts:)

Thanks Rika for sharing your thoughts,
