Amazon Associates: Important Program Update
Amazon Associate Program gives regrular updates. Here is a letter I get this morning:
"Hello Associate,
We are writing to notify you of some upcoming changes to the Amazon Associates Program Operating Agreement, which governs your participation in the Amazon Associates Program. All changes are effective as of March 1, 2019. Visit the What's Changed page to see a summary of these changes. You can also find the Operating Agreement, Program Policies, and the Fee Statement if you would like to refer to the current, pre-change versions.
Associates Operating Agreement – What’s Changed
Here are some of the most important updates:
We are aligning our Mexico, Australia, and China agreements to our U.S., Canada, and EU agreements so that they’re substantially similar. For the U.S., this includes the following standardizing changes:
- We clarified the language around export and re-export warranties
- We updated the term and termination clauses to contemplate suspension and termination for deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity
- We added that Amazon or its nominee may take legal action and perform procedural acts on behalf of any Amazon party
- We updated the definition of digital products
- We clarified that qualifying revenue is less any credits, as this may vary by country
- We updated the payment section to provide that if an associate does not select or maintain valid information for a payment option, Amazon may pay through another payment option or hold earned fees
We have also removed the bounty event "Kindle Reading App."
If you do business with Amazon, it is important to follow the updates. Sometimes, little error may cause the shutdown of your account, which cause huge headache.
Good luck with your endeavor!

Thanks for sharing this. I got it in the email too. What I don’t understand is, what kind of error can be to cause the shutdown of my account?
You would be surprised as to what they consider an error - for example, showing the price of a product on your page.
When you say using their pictures, do you mean the pictures other than the product pictures?
I really don't understand, they have links to show the pictures and price on our website.
Hi - you can only use the 1 image which they supply to you. Sometimes a product may have more than 1 photo of it on Amazon's page, and people think it is ok to copy them, but it's not permitted. Neither can you use their product descriptions, reviews or star ratings.
Thank you for posting this, so do we need to actually make some changes on our account with Amazon or are they just sending us these updates so we are aware of them? If you don't mind clarifying this, thanks.
-Erik
You need to look it carefully and make change accordingly. I promoted Amazon books and Kindle Reading App. Amazon says "we have also removed the bounty event Kindle Reading App". So this disappears and I need to remove it from my site.
