I've posted this question a few times in different places but no-one seems to be around to answer it. I've set up my website but for some reason the Title and Tag line of my sit

I've gone through Lessons 1-5 again (some now for the 3rd and 4th time) and nowhere was there anything about publishing pages, nor was there anything about setting up the three basic pages you mention. Maybe the lessons have changed since you last looked at them. Setting up pages is covered in Lesson 8.

Anyway, whilst I covered Lessons 1-5 again, I set up a second website - lo and behold, the Title and Tag were on the website.

I then deleted my first website and started it again, deciding to choose a different theme this time. Again there was no Title and Tag on the website. WHY! I did everything the same as the second website.

I then deleted the second edition of my first website and started again. This time I used the same theme as the one on the second website which worked. Eureka it worked! Thank heavens for that, for I thought I was going nuts. Maybe the themes caused the problem - they were the only things I changed. Out of 3 different themes, one worked.

Now - I did not publish anything, nor did I add any pages, but I have the original website I wanted which now has a Title and Tag line.

Thank you for your help Paul, and for being so patient.

Hi again Paul, sorry if I'm being a pain in the rear end. I'm still groping my way around and I like to know why things happen, and if I make mistakes I like to know where and why. It's now twigged that whatever I put into the 'All in one SEO' was not the cause of my website problem (no pages) since stuff put in SEO is not visible on the website.

Given that, the stuff I entered in the SEO section (3 times) was not there after having saved it (a problem to come down the track?).
Also, junk pages were deleted in Lesson 5, but none were added, and so far I have not come across a lesson where pages are added - still to come I guess, since I'm not finished.
I have made a comment to Carson about both these 'issues' (if that is what they are).

Thank you for your help and patience, I will now get on with the job.

Publishing pages is the first thing Kyle covers in the training when he shows you how to set up the three basic pages on your site: home; about me; privacy policy.

I'm 11 hours ahead of you (Daylight Saving + 10hrs ahead of GMT), so it's nighty night for me. Enjoy your day!

You say ... 'there's nothing in All in One SEO because the only thing you'll put in there is a site description and keywords, which you haven't yet got.' Precisely my point, because there SHOULD be content there. I've now put in site description, home page title, etc 3 TIMES and it is not saved when I exit (although I saved it). Had it been saved it would have shown up on the site, wouldn't it?

Question is posed by member who is no longer active.

Hi again Paul, I think I may have found the cause of the problem. I've just gone back through Lessons 4, 5 & 6. In Lesson 5, 'junk' pages are deleted (so 0 pages) but none are added.
In Lesson 6, in the 'All in One SEO' section, under 'General Settings' - Home Page Settings there was nothing there, but there should have been, also the posts in the 'Title Settings' sections had been changed to dashes by me previously, but they appeared as posts again. I thought that I had maybe neglected to 'Update my Options' at the finish.
I repeated everything that I had done before - Home Page Title, Description, keywords, dashes instead of posts and made sure that I updated everything, but none of these changes showed up on my website. I went back into the 'All in One SEO' section and everthing that I had done there a few minutes before had disappeared - nothing had been saved. I wonder if other people are experiencing this?

I've had another look and everything seems fine. there's nothing in All in One SEO because the only thing you'll put in there is a site description and keywords, which you haven't yet got. I'm not sure where you're wandering about, but you've done no damage and nothing is as it shouldn't be!

Wow, thanks for that step by step run through Paul and I could see what you have done. I did follow the Lessons on the green tab 'Get Started Here', where the 4th Lesson was about setting up the website - I went through it twice. I somehow must have missed out on a lot if I neglected all the steps you put in place. I willgo through the whole lesson again - slowly! Again, thank you Paul for taking the time to help me out. I can get going now. I will upgrade to Premium - just want to see how the website works out first.

You've got a couple of days left of the discounted offer of $19 for the first month. Just a heads up.

If you trust me enough to PM me the site address, username and password I'll have a look for you. I did this for someone else earlier this week. You can change both username and password afterwards for safety.

Hi Paul, Thanks for your response. I'm still finding my way around this site. How do I get this info to you without the whole world seeing it?

er, by that I mean - How/where do I PM you?

Ah. You may not be able to as a Starter. So, email me at paul@crimsonleaf.co.uk and send the info there. Sorry for giving you the run around!

Hi. All sorted. This is what I did, and why.

You hadn't made any pages, so nothing was showing up. I created three pages; a home page, an About Me page and a Privacy Policy page - all for you to fill in.

Then I went to settings>reading and at the top of the page I selected "open on a static page", and named the page to open on from the drop down menu.

Next I went to the Appearance>menus page and under the "locations" tab, made sure menu 1 was selected.

Now you have three pages and a menu. You can edit the pages under "All pages" in the dashboard.

Your very first move on joining should be to visit the green tab on the left and start the training, where all of this is covered. It's worth following every step and then you'll really know what your doing.

Cheers

Paul
