Course 4 - Building a Social Presence
Today I began Course 4, learning to build a social presence. As with all the previous courses I have completed with Wealthy Affiliate, the material has been laid out in a clear and step-by-step manner, making it easy to follow and complete.
I watched my children and even my youngest sister master social media years ago. It was something I didn't understand - I had no interest in making the world aware of my every thought and activity, nor could I imagine they would be the least bit interested. Suddenly I have had to change my preconceptions, view social media as a business tool - and a free one at that, and learn to use it effectively. Fortunately, Wealthy Affiliate has helped me to start that process.
I gained 200 Facebook friends today; Twitter and Pinterest have been a lot slower. I joined several Google+ communities relevant to my niche and posted links to relevant website material on them. I keep hearing about how "viral" can naturally take over with time, and I recognize that I am a long way from that. But I am several steps closer as I write this blog tonight than I was when I started this morning. I am that much closer to achieving my goals.

OMG! I sound like you. I didn't want much to do with social media, but the tide has been turned. Keep it up sister, you are on the right path!

Lol too funny! Another day of trolling social media trying to learn what I'm doing and build my "presence". Thanks for the comment.
I know how hard it is to get in step with all the newest ways of communicating, but you are doing it!

Yes, I can certainly see it value in reaching out to others. I am one of those impatient types who wants to push a button and have 10,000 followers, but I can see that slow and steady is more the course it will take.
