I am trying to add an affiliate link image but it is not relevant to my website and would not want it on my home page. Should I do another page or post naming the link? If need

Why did you aply when it is not relavant? Loes

Didn't I was just wondering...

I use sidebar widgets, but I don't think I would put it on if it weren't even a little relevan,t Frances. Just my nickel.

Thank you, I understand!

I have affiliate links for Amazon and Ebay, they're probably relevant to all niches as you can buy virtually anything there! I've put them in the side bar widget which is what was recommended by Kyle in the training (if I understood it correctly).

Thank you!

If it is not relevant - surely it has no place on you Website!

Thank you!

Then dont ad it remember its Your reader its about

Thank you!

If it is not relevant, why promote it...

Thank you!

Why do you want to promote something that does not have to do with what your website content is about? The whole point of your writing about a specific topic or niche is to draw visitors in and entice them to click on links to affiliate products that you write about or review.

Thank you!

How far apart are the two areas? I mean to say between your niche and your affiliate link? Perhaps you can incorporate it into a separate page....would need more detail.

thank you for responding! my niche is about childcare/nannies and the affiliate link is one of the plugins i had installed called thirsty affiliates regarding wordpress...no relation.

Welcome to WA and I wish you all the best!

It's best to promote affiliate products that are in your niche and make sense to your site, otherwise it can be confusing for readers and is not effective for traffic or clicks. ~Jude

thank you for responding! my affiliate link is on wordpress called thirsty affiliates...but I' take your advise.

I would put it in a widget on your sidebar. If it's not relevant to your niche, I would not put it in your site. The only thing though, it will show on your home page on your sidebar. If that doesn't bother you then that's what I would do.

thank you for responding. i tried putting it on my home page/sidebar but the image was to small and since it is not relevant i don't want it there. i was thinking maybe i should make a page called affiliates and add it under that, the way i did with the page "about website", I can add non-links under that If I have more or do you recommend not getting any non-relevant links?

Help! For some reason I cannot get my posts posted. Keep getting error message as "Bad Request". What am I doing wrong?

I am afraid I do not have experience in posts right now but I think a member here in WA with the username poorhouse may be able to help he seen to know a lot about wordpress.

Or just like other people say just submit a support ticket.

Hi and thank you for your respond. I did submit a support ticket....have not gotten the answer yet. I will follow poorhouse to see if the person knows something that can help me. Thank you anyway. Frances

I am glad I were a bit helpful with your problem

Thank you, you have been a great help. Even a bit of help can make a big difference. Thank you so much! Frances

Thanks but did you fix the problem with your site?

Yes I did, thank you...please check it out and let me know what you think...http://www.childcarenannies.com

I think you can put a picture of yourself in your about page and use paragrapfs in your articles.
Aside from that I think the page look good at least to me.

Since you've posted here, you must be referring to your website. You're hitting the Post/Add new and putting in all the info required like title and tags right?

Thank you for responding! The name of the title shows up but not my text. Please check it out and let me know what you think at http://www.childcarenannies.com. Thank you, Frances

Frances, it looks like the last post I can see was done 11 Sep and I can read it well. I tried to look at Articles tab and it won't let me do anything in there. If you're talking about a more recent post, I can't tell you what you're doing wrong/or not doing at all. It might be something simple though. Ask in the open forum. ~Debbi

Hi and thank you for your respond. Which post were you able to read. I can't open any except the pages up on top (e.g. Home, About Me, About Website, Articles), but under Articles where all my pages are as well as the sidebar on Recent Articles and Categories, when I click it, some error message pops up. What do you think of my site? Also, I'll check and ask Debbi on forum. Thank you!

Sorry I was away from my computer all weekend. Did you get your problem sorted out?

Thank you, yes I did...check out the site and give me your feedback..http://www.childcarenannies.com

I don't know, to be perfectly honest. If you've done everything Jude Banks is suggesting, then I think I would go with what Sandra said, file a support ticket. It might be something VERY simple to fix. Good Luck!

Thank you for responding! The name of the title shows up but not my text. Please check it out and let me know what you think at http://www.childcarenannies.com. Thank you, Frances

I see the problem. When you go to get posts, you get something like, "This is embarrassing. We can't find what you're looking for." UGH I don't know how to fix that. I'm sorry. Have you filed that support ticket yet?

Hi and thank you for your respond. Yes, that is exactly what I'm talking about...and yes I did filed the support ticket yet. :(

I assume you are referring to the posts you are publishing on your website.

Are you selecting >Posts >Add New for this?

In the WP admin area, go to >Settings > Reading

And make sure at the top that you have your "Posts" selected as the front page display.

Also make sure you are adding new Posts, not pages.

If you are adding new pages, you will need to make sure that you add the pages to the navigation menu, otherwise you won't see them.

I hope something I said above helps you. ~Jude

Thank you for responding! I have done all that, the name of the title shows up but not my text. Please check it out and let me know what you think at http://www.childcarenannies.com. Thank you, Frances

Are you actually hitting the Publish button to the right of your WP editor screen when this happens?

Could you have set up a schedule for posts in advance and the dates are not correct?

If none of the above and you're okay with sending me a private message with the login details (username/password) to your website, I can log in for you and check to see if I can fix it. I can't tell from just looking at your site what the problem might be. ~Jude

Hi and thank you for your respond. I hit publish button each time I update my posts and refresh, but still no change. I'll play around with it until I can fix the problem while waiting for the respond of the support ticket. Thank you so much!

I think you might need to put in a support ticket for this one. The posts under your profile picture are all leading to different people's posts.

If you're referring to the profile picture to the right of these posts, that's perfectly normal. That's a list of questions that other people are asking.

Good to know I was not aware of that, thanks!

Hi and thank you for your respond. I have to check that out...

Thank you, I'll check them out.

So, sorry, I am not able to help you. But I do see your blogs are showing up in your profile!

Thank you for responding! I am not sure what you are referring to "blog showing up in my profiles" but my question is on my website. The name of the title shows up but not my text. Please check it out and let me know what you think at http://www.childcarenannies.com. Thank you, Frances

Thank you anyway!
