I have a Facebook page but I feel as though I need a page strictly for my websites. I haven't been able to figure this out. As you can tell I am not Social Media savvy.

I began to set up a business FB page years ago, before becoming a WA member. I never completed it, so this is a good reminder to get it done.

yes Allan, Completing it will hopefully get you more visits.
Good luck on your journey.

Angela

There are lots of resources below on how to do .. here is the simple version.
- You create a Fan or a Like "Page" for the business or website you are focusing on .. it is done via your person Facebook
- So, you are not creating a new account, you create the "Page" from your account
- On your Facebook Profile "Home", left hand there is a section "Pages" with the option "Create Page"
- This leads you to a menu driven set up of your "Page"
- You can set up as many Pages as you like .. could be one for each Website

Most things can be changed so don't be concerned about getting it perfect. The first time a did this I created a "dummy" one to see how it worked and then I deleted it and made my real one .

Good luck Angela, Cheers, William.

Hi William, I just finished creating a page as you stated. Thank you for your help. I think things will be better. Thanks.

That is great Angela .. so glad I could help. Cheers, William.

Thank you again.

I think I had thought of this question as well; I'm glad you asked Angela.

Thanks VWanzer, I just dont know how to go about that. Do I make a whole new account?

Did you click onto the link Shawn (Compso199) gave? It's a 7 page, step-by-step lesson; I just glanced through it, but it seems to be very thorough.

Veronica

Hi Angela,

Here is some training to follow to create a facebook page. Hope this helps!
Shawn

Thanks for sharing this lesson Shawn.

Veronica

Thank You for sharing Compos199.

My pleasure Veronica! I hope it was helpful!

My pleasure Angela!

Hi Shawn, Thanks for the link I will check it out and I will get back to you.

My pleasure Angela, I hope that's what you were looking for.

Yes it helped. Thanks.

Hi, Angela. You can definitely create a FB fan page just for your business. I've created one and it was very quick and easy. If you click on Live Video Classes in the left- hand menu, Jay had a video training on this a few weeks ago. He walks you thru the entire process. Good luck with it! Linda

Great tip Linda, thanks for sharing.

Veronica

Okay, great thanks, some much for the info. I really appreciate the instructions and direction you gave. I think I will start this tonight. Thanks again.

You can also create a brand new separate profile or business account just for promoting your websites etc. That's of course if you don't mind managing 2 accounts.

Thats the answer I was looking for. Thanks jmartens777.

you're welcome

Of course, you can create any FB Fan Page of your choice. :)

I just dont know how to go about that. Do I make a whole new account?

No, you can just use your personal FB account, and under Pages, use "Create Page" - you can also see this in the top right menu drop down.

oh okay thank you littlemama, I really appreciate your advice.

You're welcome sweetie!

I have been unfairly spammed and the lessons requires you to get comments what can I do?

Hi Angel, it seems you have got an answer. Irv.

This might be a bit drastic but if it warrants it...

The CAN-SPAM Act of 2003, signed into law by President George W. Bush on December 16, 2003, establishes the United States' first national standards for the sending of commercial e-mail and requires the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to enforce its provisions.
CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAN-SPAM_Act_of_2003

This warning usually stops SPAM pretty quickly!

Thanks Steve1958

if WA is the one who has turned off your ability to give or receive comments directly on this website, then you need to contact WA support. It is possible you unknowingly violated a TOS and you should figure that out.
If you received bad comments on your own website, then just delete the comments. If you can't comment on others site because they are not approving your comments, you should just move on and stop trying to leave comments.

When you say you have been unfairly spammed, that is not clear what you mean. I think you mean that your email inbox has been flooded with junk mail, but I don't think that is what is happening here. I think you mean you have been banned? possibly? If so, my comments above apply.

Hi improveimpac, I did contact WA support and I am waiting for a reply. Thank you for your advice.

Turn off your comments for a few months...unless you are getting a lot of good comments. Obviously I would just delete them. You have got moderation of comments turned on? So that you can review them first? But I would still turn off comments for a while...

I want comments because they do help me. Thank you for your help.

If I can't find anything positive to say in comments I usually don't leave a comment. Any constructive criticism I send via personal message or email. Cheers Kev

Yeah I understand that now. Thank you With-Kev, for your advice.

When relevant I work to give attribution sources for comments on blogs and pages.

When I do comments on a website, I make sure they are positive and direct relation to the post that I am reading. If I have any constructive criticism, I list that in the WA forum or the comments of the feedback, or I will PM the site owner. That usually comes out ok in the end.

Well, that make perfect sense. I should have done that. This is a learning lesson I wish I would have known before. In actual, the constructive criticism I received wasn't done that way, but It helped me on a few things that I needed to correct. Thank you for the good tip.

My pleasure. The "pay it forward" premise is just that. Allow the positive on the website to aid in the generation of traffic for the person that is asking for feedback. Then the same will be done for you.

okay, If I get another chance to comment. Thank you Seahawk8058 for stepping up and responding. I really appreciate the advice, because I didn't know. Thanks

My pleasure. Always help when I can.

I have been spammed or blocked from giving and getting comments. I have gotten some suggestions from my site, and they helped me better myself, I also thanked people who told me the real about what they thought i needed to do. Most of my comments have been nice or not saying anything to upset anyone, I am new and not a professional, but I debated about giving any suggestions because of this. I don't understand if someone disagreed on a suggestion why don't they just reply back or email me, not spam me.

I never plugged a website or url in my comments, It is strictly a few didnt like my response or they said that wasn't what they were looking for, but never told me what they were looking for me to say. I don't know what to do next. Can anyone help me?

Hi.. how do you mean.. that you got spammed ? email..blog posts..comments.. .. where did you get spammed ?

In the comments, a few people for some reason didn't like my comments or suggestions and spammed me. I was never mean, I just gave suggestions, like others gave me I never spammed anyone. The suggestion actually helped me.

Are you speaking of comments received at WA

yes I have been spammed since June 6 2016

I tried to add a post to my FaceBook but it said that the link wasn't trusted. Is there a way or is it illegal?

HI Angela, take a look at my website www.healinghandstherapies.com. I have my facebook feed right on my website, which is cool because whenever I post to facebook it updates on my website too.

I used a page-plugin
Here is the link in FB for the various plugins:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins#page-plugin

ok Thanks.

Angela this might help you out.
Tim

Thanks Dreamer56, that video really helped me out.

Do you know this happened to me as well, it said the same thing and asked me if I wanted to continue and I did. Nothing went wrong and that was when I started.

ok thanks.

What plugin are you using. Google recognizes some mentioned at: https://wordpress.org/plugins/add-link-to-facebook/

Thanks MKearns, that works.

I have never had this issue . What post did you try to add. Facebook don't like some affiliate network. Check the FB rules . Cheers Kev

Thanks for the tip.
