6 months at Wealthy Affiliate, articles ranking quickly, and 1K traffic per month

Pretty long title, but all of it is true!

Yesterday, last night I think it was, a message popped up that it was month 6 of me being a premium member. Hurray! I've been here for 6 months! And I've made, well, some money!

I didn't make as much as I wanted, but when you want something, and don't work for it, it's sort of expected that you won't get it.

As some of you know, I just wrote about my 6 month plan to get traffic/monetize one of my blogs. And that blog had some pretty cool stuff happen this week that I'll share about below.

Site bringing traffic of 1000 per month

I put Google Analytics on my site, and started reviewing the traffic that I received. It was less than a month ago. Well, just yesterday, I saw that I had already crossed the 1k mark.

Why is that so cool? Well, it's one of those achievements that I've been looking for. It shows that I get over 33 people to my site per day.

My next goal is 100 people per day. Why isn't 60 (as discussed in this article) the next goal? Well, I've actually been really close to reaching 60, so it isn't that big of a goal. Yeah, I'm trying to get consistent traffic of 60 my the end of October (which I should be able to achieve). But I've sort of hit 60 already

So my next goal is 100 people per day. When I hit that, I'll be 10% towards my last goal (that I've set) of 1000 people per day!

So anyways, I'm pretty happy about hitting 1k traffic in less than 1 month. Fun times!

Articles ranking quickly

okay, so I can't exactly lie here. It's really was only one article. But it shows that the training does work, if you follow it.

As you can see from the picture, I'm currently ranking as the 4th position for the keyword "Herbal Tea and Bad Breath". (yes, my site has the awesome name of BadBreathStinks!).

Yeah, I know position 4 isn't really that great. I would know because I rank for other keywords on page 1, position 1. So why am I so excited about this keyword, and this article?

Well, if you can make it out in the picture, it says that my article was published 9 hours ago of taking that image. That (so far) is the quickest that I've ranked for an article. And hey, I'll take it.

Yeah, I'm not position 1, but, well, as the saying goes, beggars can't be choosers. So anyways, I'm pretty happy about that. It was pretty exciting to see that happen. Like I told those close to me, I guess I'm doing something right...

How am I doing with my 6 month plan?

I started my 6 month plan at the beginning of this week. And I had told myself that I was going to write an article every day. And guess what? I wrote 2 articles per day!

Even on those days that were a little more difficult I stuck with it, and grinded out another article, even if it meant staying up another hour or so. And yes, it was still a good quality article (or at least I think it was. I just write, whether it's 'quality' or not, I'll let da Google and my traffic decide).

So, in essence, after the first 5 days, I've got half the article that I said I wanted for the first month! Which means, if I can keep it up, I'll have double the number of articles at the end of my 6 month plan.

So what's next for me to work on?

Well besides for writing more articles (the week isn't done yet!), I'm still waiting for a friend to see if he wants to be my social media content manager. If not, then that is the first thing to start out on - branching out into social media.

And the other thing I need to look into is other affiliate sites. I currently rely heavily on Amazon. And while it's not bad to rely on Amazon, I'm confident that I can find other affiliate sites, promote the same thing, and make a higher commission. At least for some of the things that I'm promoting.

But we'll see. I'll just keep working at it, and find what works, and what doesn't. As long as I can make money to live off of, I'll be content. Don't need much.
