The visitors click into the affiliate links but don't buy. The conversion rate is less than 0.5%.

Did you have similar experience? Are there any ways to improve such sit

It's a common understanding in affiliate marketing or any other business friend. Think about this for a moment. If one million people saw your affiliated product and you made only 50 to 100 sales on it, it is understood.
But that doesn't mean that you should look at this with negative attitude. If you've made one sale, then you know that your affiliated product can do better. It could be that you are promoting to the wrong crowd also as TadasKo has suggested.
You might want to try different approach with your words and offers. Try to give something free in exchange for their e-mails, like a PDF to download of the related product. At least if they don't buy, you will have their e-mail address which you can send them offers of other products later. All the best!

Very good point! If you made two sales with any conversion rate that means that sales are there. You just need to find a way...
It is common practice when testing PPC ads... if you received one or two sales it is only a matter of testing different angles.
Most people will give up and start searching for new offers because it is hard to deal with money loss but in reality, you should stick with that offer and find a way to make a profit from it.

This is the way to go and learn. You'll never learn jumping from one offer to another... Just stick with it and make it work!

Appreciate this response Tadas

possible that you are targeting wrong audience or attracting traffic in misleading way where potential buyers think that they'll see (receive) something what they expect, but once clicked and see a content they get disappointed and leave.

Example of targeting wrong audience:
- offering Protein shakes to the generic public who do not exercise

Example of attracting potential buyers in misleading way:
- saying like 'click here' to get 10$ (just to make click), but once they click they see promotion of Protein shakes....

Need more info to answer your question as it is hard to tell what are you exactly doing to get they to your offer...

Thanks.
My blogs are something like "best basketball shoes"
I write short reviews of like 10 best basketball shoes in one post.

Many people click into the affiliate links in a form of a button, but the conversion rate is low.

I don't think it attract wrong audience because the title is very clear showing "best basketball shoes"

Also there's no misleading of content.

Is it possible that the reviews are not comprehensive enough?

How can I improve the conversion rate with this format of blogs?

I believe here you can have one of these issues (not sure about your process, so I just assume).

1. You are targeting expensive 'basketball shoes' to the general public. If that's the case, people won't convert as they are simply out of their budget. Imagine you are looking for an iPhone case... most of us are willing to spend 10-20$ for this item, and we find a website called 'best iPhone cases' where the price range is 50-100$. It doesn't matter how nice they appear, we will not purchase them as it is out of our budget. We will definitely click and check how they look but won't buy them. You still can advertise these expensive 50-100$ iPhone cases and have decent conversions, but your target audience would be not the general public.

2. Advertising different brands from what customers expect - great quality shoes are produced by established brands like Nike, Addidas and so... if you are pitching high quality, but less know brands, it is unlike that people will trust them. No trust = no conversion.

3. You mentioned reviews. I am a high volume seller on Amazon and reviews are the main thing to focus on. Reviews are THE MOST IMPORTANT thing on Amazon. If you are redirecting to Amazon, it is possible that they see low product review ratings like 3.5-4 stars... try focussing on a 4.5 visual product review rating. If I sell product with 4.5-star visual rating and it drops to 4-star visual rating my sales drop 70-80%... it is crazy but true.

4. It is possible that a person who is searching for 'best basketball shoes' is still in the process of research and has no intention to buy them NOW. This one is very likely as once I run PPC to my e-commerce 'one product page', all keywords related to BEST.... are converting the worst. I simply disable them as they do not convert in general because a person is in the process of the research but not purchase. In this case, you should try to target keywords like 'basketball shoes for sale', 'buy best basketball shoes' and so... be creative. Of course, it is almost impossible for you to rank for keywords like 'basketball shoes' or 'buy best basketball' shoes as they are extremely competitive but be creative and search for different long-tail keywords which are more likely to convert, compare conversions with your 'best basketball shoes' and see how it works. For faster results (if you do SEO), try spending some $$$ on PPC and see how it converts.

Try PPC for:
1) best basketball shoes
2) another selected keyword

Spend 10-30$ and check your data. I believe with word BEST will convert the worst as a person is still in the process of research.

You still can collect conversions from keywords starting with the word 'BEST....' but you need to be creative. Ex: try collecting their email and send reminders after some time...

It's all about testing and reading your data + being creative, but you need to know when to let it go too, as some cases can be time-consuming and expensive to test...

This is my first website that get decent results on SEO. It is 4-month-old and it gets around 350 pages views per day now.

Is this growing speed fast or slow? Maybe this

You should be happy friend. Those are good stats especially when you say that you don't have experience on making a successful website. This shows that if you use proper SEO techniques, you will get seen regardless if your websites don't look that professional. All the best!

That is absolutely brilliant. I can't get mine to rank high enough. So u should be over the moon.

Its not a stupid question at all! Yes 350 pageviews per day is awesome especially at 4 months. Are these people converting to sales yet?

Yes, but the converting rate is very low

That is normal! At least they are converting and you are getting sales! That means you are doing a great job! Congratulations!

Do I need to install any security plugin for my websites hosted in WA?

As I see there is function like virus monitoring in WA Website hosting, I am not sure if it's nece

Hi Andy, WA provides its own security it is your option to add one if you so desire. SiteSSL (HTTPS)
Serve your website over 256-bit Encrypted Connections and do it at Wealthy Affiliate for FREE! Encryption is favored by search engines and keeps visitor data safe. Make sure that is clicked to ON in site details.
Michael

WA is so diligent in installing security and spam protection at the server level. We do no install additional security plugins and have had no issues.

But certainly you can if you want.

you don't have to but if you did install one i would recommend sucuri plugin
have fun
phil

One of the many benefits of WA is the security is built into the platform. I have not had any issues with it, so believe it is good.

Hi if you host with WA, none needed, their infrastructure is build secure.

To confirm you may like forward a note to site support

thank you

You're welcome.
