Finding Embers in the Ashes
Isn't winter a wonderful time of the year. Especially if you're lucky enough to have a real wood fire. It's that time again on the South Island of New Zealand. The time again when we seek enlightenment even if it is just to get the fire started.
Lucky we don't have to carry water, but we get to chop the wood to add to the fire. I'm blessed to be able to meditate in front of it for sometimes an hour a day.
While meditating thoughts lead to the fire and the stages of the fire. Ashes build up in the firebox to the point where the fire isn't as efficient as it can be. This is the time to empty the firebox and start building the fire from scratch again.
It takes time for the ashes to mount up again and create a bed for embers to be sustained. With some newspaper and kindling it is easy to get the fire cranking again.
As I stir the ashes, ideas are stirred. How like life is a fire? Through all our experiences how much of them become as ash. And yet that ash, as we stir our memories, contains embers. Bright spots that we can use to bring fire to life in the present.
Our life as a fire was initially built for us. Fuel was added by parents, schools, friends, relatives. Then hopefully we grew up and became responsible for building our own fire. Responsible for putting fuel on it to nourish the fire.
Each day is a fire we build. The way we start the day is crucial. Do we have enough fuel - passion, enthusiasm, appreciation and gratitude to carry us through.
Our membership of Wealthy Affiliate and the websites and content we create within the platform is another fire we're stoking. Our engagement stokes the fire we're burning here.
The relationships we form in the community are like oxygen to the fire. In a firebox if the air intake is not set right the fire doesn't flourish.
Speaking of community, I notice that if there is only a single piece of wood in a fire, it will begin to just smolder. Something happens when you add more wood. It creates an impetus for the fire and it will burst into flame again.
The great thing about Wealthy Affiliate is we're here to share our fires.
Bless ya

Thankfully we are just going into summer. I much prefer the long warm days and not having to spend money in heating lol.
Wow
Need to come there
It would be an interesting month swap each year as I am not fond of the winter
