Yeah maybe. I know I had an issue last time, it took over a week to get resolved. Just wondered if it was the same thing again.

I had some problems with this also today, I gave 3 different comments to earn credit for a comment on my website but the system said "you have no credits on request" a bit frustrating..

Strange... I have plenty of comment credits but I'm just not being left credits. I've been told to wait by Site Support but I know its not working properly. It happened to me before and exactly the same thing is happening again.

Hey Andrew, I commend you. there is a lot of work gone into this review.

Don't know how many words but I can see a few thousand here and I can remember I posted here about my own review with over 6000 words and was told far too many and people will switch off.

I beg to differ because if someone is seriously interested in this type of business, then providing the review reads well then they will read it all.

It's hard to get a balance.

Getting to the 1st page of Google is where we need to be but a task and a half.

How are others doing it?

Back-links?
Social media?
PPC?
Youtube videos?

I see more and more creating videos because people love visual?

I notice you highlight success's but no actual proof. I guess the headings are from WA member posts?

Why not use your affiliate link from within WA attached to those blog posts?

All the best

Mick

Hey Andrew, just some quick feedback here.

First of all great post. I don't think the content is "too long" especially with a title like "The Ultimate Wealthy Affiliate Review".

I would, however, consider removing the side by side logos at the start of the post. It could cause confusion for visitors.

Also, I would recommend testing out different colors for the button CTA's. It doesn't stand out too well with the links being orange.

Hope this helps.

That's great, thank you for taking a look at my Wealthy Affiliate review. I'll certainly have a look at that and have a think about your comments.

Cheers!

Don't make it look as a spam. ma I know is a very good platform because i am here 3 years (and still didn't quit my job:))) but if i have seen you rreview i wouldn't subscribe. Hi there. Thanks for your opinion. The testimonials are actually completely real. But I see what you are saying and i appreciate your input.

Cheers!

HI Andrew,

Wow, that is a lengthy review.

Personally, I don't like reading too much on the internet it gives me a headache, so when I come across a very long review I leave, but the table of contents changes that, because I can just click to what I want to read instead of all the scrolling which would irritate me.

Hope that helps
Luba

That does help Luba.

I'm sure a lot of people are just the same as you. However, I also know that long content does betting in the search engines, so its a difficult one. I think I am going to try and shorted some of the text areas in my next Wealthy Affiliate review update! So hopefully that will make it a little easier for those people who don't want to read a great deal.

Thank you!

Andrew

Yes it is long but really I don't think it's too long.. it's thought. I do wish there were more "call to action" buttons or showing instead of telling things. For instance when you are talking about joining Wealthy Affiliate then show the join page or the join button. Showing is much better than telling as Kyle says.
Just my opinions and I hope they help.

Hi there!

Thank you for taking the time to look at my review. I'm really pleased with the amount of help that I have had with this. I have added more "call to action" buttons in my Wealthy Affiliate review. Hopefully this will help to break things up a little.

Your opinion is much appreciated! Many thanks.

Andrew

I really like your review, it has a real personal feel to it as you introduce yourself and right after that WA founders.

I like your introduction that says "everything you need to know before joining WealthyAffiliate" because it implies that, this is what people are looking for in reviews, they want to know if they should or not try it.

It's a good model and example for me, I'm almost jealous :) Don't mind me if in the future I follow your example but with my own personal twist because I think it's a great model of review.

I don't think it's too long. You have designed it well with your table of content.

I'm pretty sure you would have great responses from people who would read it.

Great job!

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my Wealthy Affiliate review, I really appreciate it!

And please feel free to take anything you need from what I have done. I think this is one of the great things about Wealthy Affiliate. You can learn from each other and take elements of what you like for use in your own projects.

Good to hear that you don't think its too long. Hopefully, the sections where I have given the reader an opportunity to join Wealthy Affiliate, is enough to break up the article.

Glad you picked up that it had a personal feel too. That was something that I was really going for.

You have given me some good advice here and I'm pleased that looking at the review has helped you too.

Cheers,

Andrew

WOW. Your fingers must be bleeding. Long, yes. To long, I don't think so. You give the reader a choice/chance to click into the WA website on each section. For those readers that require much convencing, it's there.

I am interested in learning how this site produces and how you advertise it.

Advice: Add a call to action at each WA link ie; Click here now to join WA for free, yes free. Let the upgrade be sold from within WA.

Thanks for your advice Dennis! Much appreciated. The page made 2 referrals since I updated it yesterday, so hopefully a lot more to come!

Very well and beautifully put together. It did seem a little long but I understand why you did it. You were giving the person who knows nothing about WA a chance to know everything in one fell swoop and there are people out there that will consume it all. My eyes glassed over a bit but it could be because I already know all the information. Have you been getting hits on it and is it converting?

Hi there. Thanks you for your input. In answer to your question, I just finished the changes yesterday and it has produced 2 referrals to Wealthy Affiliate so far. So, hopefully that number will grow! Watch this space!

That is awesome!!

Hi there. Just to give you a quick update. I have just checked back on the amount of referrals this page has produced and today its made another 4. So hopefully, this will continue to progress as I point more content towards it.

That is awesome and so it was well worth the time you put into it. BRAVO!

At first Andrew it really captured my attention with the graphics and layout. As I read on however, it started to get somewhat long and I wanted to rush to the end and skip the middle. I know lengthy content is king, but I would look to perhaps making two or three posts out of what you have. All very good.

Thanks for the advice!

Cheers Harvey,

Andrew

That is beautiful and eye-catching. Loved the graphics and pictures. just as someone looking through it, I found myself skipping the paragraphs. It is great information but if you could reduce them to 1-2 sentences or eliminate some all together it would be much better.
You have enough information without the text, and if someone wants to join there is some information you could provide links to and they can hop off and read more, OR create a read-more doc that they can hop off on to. That way you don't mess this one up :)
Great job!!!!! :)

Thanks for the advice. I think I will try to do that. Cheers!

Good luck, I hope it goes well.

Authoring & Writing Content
Updated

I have been trying to do a bit of research into a question that has had me wondering for quite some time...

Does the amount of content and articles on your website mean m

Does updating the old posts will have the same effect as posting new content on the blog?

For example, Andrew said he has 200 posts on his blog.
Let's say he is not creating new posts but regularly updates
existing blog posts.

Since the content is regularly updated, does Google gives
the site the same value and ranking, as if it is creating new
content?

Good question. I know updates make a difference, but then there's only so much you can add and update. Not sure if it makes a massive difference or not.

If you have something valuable to say why not say it rather than wondering what it gets for you I.e points or ratings. If you are putting out the right stuff then this will follow

Andrew, this is not my opinion or advice. You are more experienced and successful than me.You are someone I look up to.But I do have some questions.

You said you have 200 posts. Is your content based on evergreen products?Like, if you are doing a review of a recently launched jvzoo or warrior plus product, that would get traffic for few months and eventually, it will die off unless it is an evergreen product.

If you look at products like amazing selling machine, jeff walkers product launch formula, anik singals inbox blueprint etc, they are evergreen products which are launched every 6 months, 1 year or 2 years.

It shouldn't have to be the above mentioned products, but is it evergreen product or an informative article which can get evergreen traffic?

I guess you have followed the bootcamp and implemented all the tasks. If you did that and worked hard to produce 200 posts, and still not getting the results, I am concerned about the bootcamp training and the results it can produce.

Although there are lots of successful affiliates here who become successful through bootcamp training, I like to see Kyle's opinion on the question raised by this thread and also the results bootcamp can produce.

Hi there. The articles that I produce are a real mixture of both short and long term traffic. So yes, some of my traffic is going to die out because of the product shelf life.

Don't get me wrong, the training does work and I am making money from it. Just not progressing to the level that I would like.

Thank you for your response, Andrew.

Maybe you need some more time to reach the
level you like.In that case, it is true that this is
a long-term business and not a get-rich-quick
scheme.

What I like is that Kyle and Carson do say that,
this is a long-term business unlike other gurus
who sell get-rich-quick schemes.

When I read threads from other people complaining
about not getting results, I doubted whether the
training here works.

The other side of things is that in most cases they
are building multiple sites at the same time or
they are not following the training correctly.

I have seen niche sites where WA banner is
displayed on the site when that niche site is
in no way related to "make money online".

Hi Andrew, I am VERY confident the more articles you have, the more Google likes your site. That can be a direct or an indirect result of more internal links and also a higher frequency of posting.

If you have 20 articles on your site and 100's of backlinks of high authority sites you should probably make a killing (as backlinko)
BUT, what if you don't have such a big influence? I would say post as much as you can.

Yeah, that was my approach. But at over 200 articles, I kind of burnt out a bit and needed to slow down. I expected my income to be a lot higher at this point but its really not that great considering the amount of work.

It is an interesting question, Andrew.

I think that we cannot be sure about the answer. For example, Backlinko says that it does not matter. Other say that the more the better.

In my opinion, you get more traffic when you get ranked for more keywords. So, I am trying to get ranked for many different keywords.

If we change the question to "one great article vs 10 standard articles", I believe that the one great article will give us better results.

But the problem with that is one great article does not just go to the top of Google and stay there. I believe you need lots of content on a regular basis to affect the rankings of the site in general.

Of course, we must create content on a regular basis. But it is not enough to give us more traffic. We need to target new keywords with better content than our competitors.

Hi Andrew I was listening to a Facebook Advertizing guru speaking today, and her priorities for top 3 sources of traffic were:
1. Website traffic - from blogs and content.
2. Videos.
3.Uploads to Facebook.
She mentioned specifically about the new Facebook ¨rules¨ whereby the User Experience is the priority, and suggested that ecommerce sites should also be building their story and content (which previously may not have been a priority of theirs), with a view to getting a community and engagement with them. Facebook will be looking critically at prohibited and restricted content, at their discretion.
Best
Alan

Thanks for that. Much appreciated!

Yes, I really do think it matters about the amount of content and keywords. I also truly believe especially, when first starting out it matters how often you are putting out this content. I noticed that if i do not put a post out every 2 to 3 days, my traffic plunges...If I post an article every 2 to 3 days, I always get new visitors everyday.....And, my site it brand new still....

So, for me it would be a "Yes"

I hope my opinion has helped

Thats a very interesting observation. This is exactly what I was looking for. I have over 200 articles on my site, but recently I have not been able to produce content on a regular basis. Despite having a large amount of articles, my traffic has dropped.

I have found the same thing. I agree!

You have a great amount of articles on your blog. Awesome job, with the 200 articles. I think that the traffic drop to your site is due to the articles not being produced on a regular basis, that is all. I read somewhere that a blog thrives off of engagement and activity.

Thank you for confirming...

So, let's say I have ideas for about 200 articles. From what I have read in this thread, it is better to publish that articles over a year rather than publish all of them in 6 months and less or no activity for the next 6 months?Am I I right?

Have you considered updating some of those articles? Don't delete content because that may already be bringing in traffic. But adding additional content. I saw another article/post in WA, saying that updating existing content was a recommendation that some guru mentioned. I can't find that article/post right now.

Absolutely correct.

Yeah, I think you are correct there.

Yes, from what I learned in my short period of time , that when I do not produce an article regularly my traffic drops. My site is only 30 days old. So, I was producing articles every 2 to 3 days. I received up to 209 people a day in organic searches but, in the last 5 days.

I have not produced any articles due to me being very busy and my traffic went from 209 to 14 organic searches. So, this is where I get my analogy from. It has to be that if you don't produce regularly that traffic tanks...I know content and keywords play a role but, it seems like the regular consistent engagement plays a role as well...

209 to 14 is a significant drop.Thank you for the insight.

Thank you for confirming.

Yes! very huge drop. and you're welcome

Yeah, I guess this is the case no matter if your site is 1 month or 1 year old.

I am of the opinion that the amount of quality content that is keyword driven you publish on your site will determine the volume of your traffics.

If you really go for quality and value render articles or contents there is no way you won't have enough traffics you command.

People search daily for solutions to problems, it is those sites that solve those problems that will be visited. Assuming you write ten articles and each command two visits per day; is it not important to write more to drive more visitors.

The more great article you render the better your conversions. If you publish enough quality articles you don't even need to market your website.

It is good to know that we have varieties of contents ( Articles, Video, and podcast ). the more of those you get involved in, the better value you render to your audience in your niche.

Contents are key to traffics. . . .

My opinion though.

John

Thank you for your input. I have been creating content for quite some time now and have over 200 articles on my site. Lately I haven't been producing content as much and have seen a dip in the amount of traffic that I am getting. Just wondering if the publishing frequency also affected the rank of the articles?

Yes, it does. You have to continue working. I hope you know that people start authority sites these days with nothing less than 200 articles to start with?

John

Andrew, that answer depends on who you ask. Brian Dean, from Backlinko.com, will tell you the art of getting traffic to your website is not in how often you add content but how much you market your content. He has stats that he shows that prove this statement. He shows that by engaging on different platforms in social media can accomplish more than adding content three times a week. Google, on the other hand, does reward websites with better ranking for adding more content. I think that is more in relevance than quantity.
The key in my opinion is quality of content and number of followers you have in social media platforms.
Good question. I hope this helps.
Ken

Thanks for that. I have just been checking out Backlinko, always lots of useful info there.

Good question, Andrew. It should generate lots of discussion. I am in the article quality group and not the quantity group. I think well written articles get the most traffic per keyword. On the other hand, lots of articles focused on specific long tail keywords will generate lots of traffic collectively.

I'm not sure. There was a point when I was able to post an article every couple of days and I saw a jump in traffic. However, lately I have not been producing as much comment and my traffic appears to have dropped a bit, despite there being over 200 articles on my website.

Most certainly it does. However, it's not just the quantity of articles, it is also about the length of the articles, as well as their quality.

Lately, Google has taken a shine to ranking long articles, and the shorter ones are not given a great deal of importance.

The more quality content you have, yes, it does mean more traffic, providing it is good stuff for people to go over and read it, and eventually return for more.

You have to bear in mind if the niche you're into has a great deal of competition, in which case, don't panic, as all you need to do is go over to your competition and make your content better than theirs.

This might not be easy, but without better content, you don't really stand a good chance of beating them where rank is concerned.

Content includes pictures, videos, infographics etc...not just words. Too many words a will be a right turn-off for anybody visiting your site if there aren't pictures etc to break it up.

To summarize, more articles, more ranking, and more trust from Google, giving you a nice spot where people can find you, thereby making it easy for traffic to find you.

Hi there. Yes, I would totally agree with what you are saying here. The reason that I ask is that I thought I would be earning more by now. I have written over 200 posts, all over 1000 words, some up to 3000. There was a point where I was producing on more of a regular basis and getting more referrals. Recently I haven't been creating content as much and I think my referrals have decreased. Although I am still producing content when I can.

Over 200 posts??? Wow, that's incredible! That number of posts should be more than wonderful, surely.

How long ago did you start working on your site?

Ey there Andrew... ditto everything Fleeky said...

Plus, use HandBrake to optimize your vids before uploading to your pages or posts.

I've heard of more preference of Vimeo over U tube!

Yes, I heard that too.

The problem is not necessarily the size of the video, although that is an issue, but you will run into serious bandwidth issues. This means your readers will experience a lot of buffering. Most standard hosting plans do not support members hosting videos for that reason.

You best bet is to use Vimeo or Amazon, or some provider that is specifically geared towards housing videos. It does cost money however.

Best Regards,
Jim

Really appreciate your input Jim. Thank you for that.

I was just looking into Amazon hosting. Have you had any experience yourself of hosting video in this way?

I have used video hosting from WordPress.com before (as opposed to our self-hosted WordPress installations). It was okay. I think the Vimeo option is more compatible when trying to incorporate into web pages. I haven't worked with Amazon's hosting, but it's supposed to be cost effective from what I understand. Hopefully, someone here with Amazon video hosting will chime in with their own experiences.
Best Regards,
Jim

Yes... you can upload your own video's

Hi. Thanks for that. Do you know how I would go about uploading my own video to WordPress?

Hi

Just like you upload an image...

Do you know if there are any file size limits?

Yes... the shorter the better, unless you save your videos on a differznt cloud server and link to them

Ok, thanks.

Perhaps ask support wHat the limits are?

I have been an affiliate for a few years now but I'm only just venturing into affiliate marketing with Amazon associates. A while ago I saw some training on WA that suggested t

Andrew! I would be very careful with a plugin that is in competition with Amazon or one that goes against Amazon rules.

I heard about this plugin and evidently, it is good for putting the prices on products. Amazon has a rule that says you Can Not put a price on the Amazon products.

How come? Because of Amazon Rules. Some of these rules will get you banned immediately. Where do you find these rules? Please, please, go to The Terms of Service on Amazon. You Will be surprised.

Don't do anything to risk for being banned from being an Associate of Amazon.

What can you do? READ the Terms of Service on Amazon. They even have a statement for you to use to tell customers about you being an Associate of Amazon.

Here are a few no 's.
1. Do not buy your own product.
2. Do not copy and paste customer reviews and pass them as being your own.
3. No star ratings.
4. Important here Andrew. You can create only one account on Amazon per individual. You will be banned.
The easy thing to do is to contact Amazon and ask them what to do.
5. Do not use your affiliate links in RSS, emails, ebooks, or your own "newsletters".
6. Amazon has the way to shorten your Amazon links. Do not go to a professional company. To write content for you, pay for traffic, and more. Again read the Amazon Terms of Service or click the Share to make sure you are doing right or to notify them what you are doing.

Also, Amazon is having more countries overseas. Ask them.

Best wishes. You are a go-getter and I like that.

I am an Amazon Affiliate and I don't use no plugin at all for it. All I did was just sign up and got approved. I list whatever products I want and as much as I want. If you don't sell something within 180 days you have to re-sign up.

So I understand. Are you having any success with your method? Do you think its worth the effort of trying to cover all Amazon programs?

Not yet, do you have any suggestions? Not sure about covering all amazon programs, Which other ones are you talking about?

I tried EasyAzon and I don't like it.

Yeah, I think EasyAzon is not so easy after all! I decided to go with the "onelink" feature on the US Amazon associates sites. It seems to do all I need it to do. We'll see how it goes!

I am also using "Onelink" and it seems to work nicely. I am suing it for US, Canada and Germany.

Great, at least i'm on the right tracks now then. Are you having much success with it?

Not yet since I am still working on attracting significant traffic. Hope to do so soon...

I had to create a separate account for Canada. With all the paperwork again...a hassle.
The plugin I would not recommend, but also not sure if it even helps!
Tom

Hi there. Thanks for your advice! After doing some more research I decided not to bother with the plugin. The "onelink" feature that is now available on the Amazon US associates site seems to be working ok and is what I'm going to try.

Thanks again!

No problemo!

Hi Andrew, you don't need a plug-in you just need to use Amazon one link and it is really easy to set up. If you need any help just give me a shout. xxxx

Hi there! Thanks for that. Just been checking out the One Link set up. That's a whole lot better than using a plugin! So I guess once you have added all the other associate links to your Amazon U.S. account you are ready to go? Hopefully I have this right.

Yes you're right Andrew. xxxx

I don't think you need a plugin for this anymore because the last time I visited my Amazon (US) back office, they have created or are creating a way for you to insert product links that track the countries where your visitors are from and takes them to the appropriate Amazon sites to buy the products.

All you do is add your affiliate IDs from other Amazon programs into your US back office somewhere and the special tracking links will be set up.

It will be a much better option than installing a plugin :)

Thanks for that Neil. Yeah I just discovered the One Link feature. I'm so glad I didn't buy the full version of EasyAzon.
Have you used the One Link feature before? Just wondering if it worked well?

Plus you get to maintain the speed of your site ;)

It's a feature I've not yet used because my main focus is on the Bootcamp blog at the moment. But will promote Amazon products again in the future and test out the feature.

I am using AzonAuthority and just recently (this past week actually) did a review on a new program plugin called AffilEcom Engine which works with Amazon, Ebay and Aliexpress when the pro version lets you also use affiliate programs such as linkshare.

Hi there. The problem was with Amazon AWS. The instructions said to sign up with Amazon AWS and get a code and secret key. First of all it asked for credit card details for verification and then went to phone verification too. The phone verification didn't work and I'm unable to move forward.

Okay I did not have to do this. I simply added the plugin. I signed up from the U.K and Amazon aws was not required. If you are doing it from U.S they have a different process done from their Affiliate site. I can't remember what it was called but it did seem simpler than what I had to do. It might be called one site.
