We Have The Power To Help Real People.
Hello to everyone in the Wealthy Affiliate community. Today I would like to share something with you that really goes to prove the power that we have here.
I think most of us are here to learn how to make money as online marketers and bloggers. We want to better our lives by earning extra income online and by building a successful online business.
But perhaps we sometimes forget that we are actually reaching real people with our work. Every article that we write has the potential to reach an individual and effect their lives in some way. Today I would like to give you an example of that.
Some time ago I wrote an article on my website entitled "How To Win The Lottery". The article wasn't a guide to winning the lottery, but rather a post about people beliefs and methods used to choose numbers and so on.
Recently I received a comment on that article that was a little worrying. The comment was sent from a lady who quite clearly had financial problems. What was very worrying about this comment was the fact that there was a mention of committing suicide.
I considered how best to reply to this comment whilst staying on theme and hopefully giving this lady some hope. The response that I got back was rather touching.
I would like to share our conversation with you...
I think this conversation serves as a great reminder that although we are here to make money, we are also here to help people.
We all have the ability to touch peoples lives in many different ways, on a global scale. What a fantastic gift we all have...

That is wonderful Andrew. Thank you for sharing those conversations. You have made a huge difference in that woman's life as you have given her hope and a level of strength to get through each day.
I hope she gets back to you again and that she does take advantage of blogging. It could lead to her becoming a confident writer and, as well as blogging she might be able to do some ghost writing (not sure if that's the correct name) and set up a profile on Fiverr, or something similar.
That's right Valerie. Going on the fact that she says that they are living on $7 each per week, a few 5 dollar payments from the likes of Fiverr would really make a difference I suspect. I really hope that she can turn things around.

Just a little information about Fiverr that might be helpful. People selling on Fiverr can charge much greater than $5 for a service. $5 is a starting rate for producing a specified amount of work, then as they build a good following they can increase their rate significantly. One of our WA members is in the position of frequently increasing her rate, so as to receive less work. What a wonderful position to be in.

Andrew, thanks for the share. it moved me that sometimes a little can go a long way.The little things that can play a big part in someone else's life and circumstances. A little encouragement can ripple out to change transform beyond our wildest dreams. Sharing and making people aware that there are opportunities that can a difference and knowing it has helped someone would make our other wise mundane days a source of joy and pleasure. It is a reminder that whilst we are on a journey to make money we can be an inspiration and blessing to one another.
That's exactly right. I have to admit that my first thoughts on this comment was that it might be some sort of scam. There are lots of people out there that use many techniques for getting money out of people. However, the response made it clear that this was genuine. I feel glad to have been able to help, if only in a small way.

That really resonated with me. We never know when and how we touch someone's lives. We just need to keep reaching out and also set a good example when things get tough - and put our best foot forward and humbly accept any help that comes our way, with good grace and gratitude. Then we can pay it forward when someone else is in need or trouble.
