Find a bigger. PURPOSE
It is time to set goals and this time of the year generates lots of energy to do so.
Why do so many people set goals and hardly ever fulfill them ? Because their vision or purpose is too small.
Let's divise goal setting in three segments:
1.Immediate goals --> 2.Long term goals --> 3.Purpose or vision
1. We are very good at setting immediate goals because they are attractive to us and the quickness of achieving them is exciting. (New car, more money, actions to do with our WA or website enterprise)
2. Long term goals are harder to set as they require to think further, deeper and they challenge our beilefs. (100,000$ per year residual, new home, travelling) Is it possible for me ?
3. Purpose...if we can put our finger on it, it is magnificent. This one deserves to be found, for each and everyone of us. What do we really want... what drives us out of bed every morning... why do we live ? The answer to those questions are extremely important and are the DRIVER of your energy. If your purpose is big, is gives you ENERGY. If not, all your energy is sucked out by your immediate goals.
I joined (very modestly)an illustration of my point with two little drawings. One with a small or no pupose and another one with a huge one.
The best analogy I can share about this principle is like when you are in love... Have you ever been in love ? If yes, do you remember how everything was easy, problems were a lot smaller and things seemed to go so smoothly ? It is not lala land, it is the power of purpose, the power of beleiving in something with no doubt at its best.
Find your purpose, find what makes your heart beat faster and go for it, the immediate and long term goals will be a lot easier to achieve.

Hm ... I would define the Immediate Goal, Long Term and Purpose, it is divided into stages to try, from which I will adjust the energy.

Lovely post. There are some very valid points here that will benefit many of us. As for being in love - 32 years of marriage and still love that woman. You have to keep your eye on the purpose of what you vowed to do in such an important relationship.
Other areas of life require the same devotion.
