Thoughts and Status after THREE months

Time flies...

It's exactly three months since I joined WA today. A few days prior to that I had suddenly stumbled across affiliate marketing and making money online by accident on a huge news site. It was a commercial for a concept I today will categorize as a "get rich fast" scam. I wasn't fooled but started to investigate other concepts and eventually ended up here at WA.

I understood that what you will learn on WA actually will work if you dedicate yourself to it, spend at least some time with it each day and wait... Nothing will change in a day.

At least not for me. But I'm determined to keep going at least for a year and I'm very exited to see where I am in one year.

Sooo... let's see what I've done in three months... Remember I started out knowing nothing about internet marketing, and know I think about it all day long. This is going to be a whole lot of text, so bare with me.

3 months in

- I started my first niche page and made 9 pages and 9 posts... But understood that the niche I had chosen was way to competitive so I started a new one...

Beginners tip nr 1: Use a lot of time to come up with your niche! At least a week. Or more. Write down several niches and do keyword research. More than you want. Don't jump on the first niche that pops up in your head.

- Then I started niche page nr 2, which I originally thought I could run next to my first site, but in the end I found that I can only concentrate at one site at a time. This page has 4 pages and 15 posts now.

Beginners tip nr 2: Even if you are lucky and come up with a lot of great niches, start only 1 page and concentrate on that one. :)

- I have had 27 sales on Amazon which is awesome. It proves for me that the principles behind this really work!

All I need is more content on my page and more traffic. It will come.

I think most of them comes from Reddit links, which isn't really what I want. I want the traffic to come from Google. I watch my Google Webmaster statistics carefully and once I've learned to use it, it's a great tool. I see that my site is showing up in the SERP quite a lot.. But I need to figure out how to engage in my rich snippets so people click on my link.

From GWT. It's in Norwegian... Don't understand how to switch to English. "Søkeord' means 'keywords'. I have 242 keywords at the moment. The blue graph shows how many times my page has shown up in Google search. The red is how many click I have... (Indexed images is not included on this graph.. but I have more indexed images than text keywords.)

Beginners tip nr 3: SERP is short for Search Engine Result Page and is actually the list of searches google and other search engines comes up with when you type in a keyword. Rich snippets is the headline and text that shows up.

- I have a lot of keywords high up in Google on both 1, 2 and 3 page. I want them to crawl but they keywords bounce up and down a lot. I have learned that the term Google Dance is quite fitting for this bouncing and is normal on new pages.

- I have learned that On Site SEO is very important.

- I have learned to write better content! (At least I think so myself.) In the beginning I struggled to write more than 200 words about a subject, and I got a lot of feedback telling me my English was wrong and I how many spelling errors I had. Now I've no problem writing at least 1000 words.

- I have got new friends through WA which is awesome. Both from Norway and the rest of the world. I have seen profiles of successful people here which are so cool and inspiring that I truly look up to them and want to be like them. :) This guy for instance has so much useful information in his blog. And this one too.

- I have found that the social platforms I enjoy the most are Reddit, Twitter and Pinterest. I've started to get the hang of Google+ (why didn't anyone tell me I had to hash-tag posts? lol). Still struggling with Facebook and don't understand how to get traffic from there.

- I spent more than a week to find new niches for future sites and has come up with 3-4 interesting ones I want to go for when the site I'm working on now has a decent amount of traffic. At least between 500-1000 views a day. Is that goal to tough? The problem is that I want to start new pages all the time because it's so fun, but I've learned to control the temptation.

- I'm finished with the Online Certification Course now. My plan is to continue on my main site. Eventually I will start the WA Affiliate Bootcamp too, but I need to have a more successful site and be even more confident with what I've learned so far.

Ok.. Let stop there. Lot's of work to do. To many ideas on new pages and posts. That's good right?

Take care.

Anyway im Danish live in Copenhagen

You really have learned a lot. Tip #1 is SOOO important. Congrats on your progress.

Really good progress ! Keep it up ! I am trying hard to be more consistent.

Congrats on the sales already!! You are so right about focusing on ONE site. I had thought it wouldn't be too bad running two until I realized that dedication to one will be what it takes until I have things rolling with a property comfort level. Then I can look into a second area.

That's my goal too. When I get a certain amount of visitors a day and maybe a more consistent flow of sale I'll start a new page. It doesn't seem to be in very near future thou... ;)

Thanks for the update and sharing Andreas. I have only been a member for around three weeks so all the detail in your post is great AND useful information. Press on!!!!

Awesome that you are getting sales! Keep it up and you'll reach your goals in no time :)

It looks like you are progressing just fine all the best

Great progress Andreas ( bra jobba) ) I agree with you about consentrating on one site at the time. Like you I have a lot of ideas for more niches, but will stick with my first one for now, and see what happens

Sounds like good things are happening. Congratulations. Shirley

Hello Andreas, loved to read your progress, good luck! Cheers on the next three months, Loes
