First Amazon sales thanks to Reddit. Reddit is gold!

I have done my first real sales on Amazon this weekend! Not one sale, not two... but in total six sales! Awesome! That truly proves that all the things I have learned at WA works. This is just the first step on the ladder to success for me but I'm more exited than ever. I started with WA 1. September this year.

Thanks to Reddit. com this time

While I'm still working on my Google rankings which slowly but surely is getting better it's thanks to two links I posted on Reddit Friday evening I suddenly got a lot of traffic which led to clicks on my Amazon links and sales.

When I first checked my Google analytic statistics on Saturday there were 111 visitors viewing my page in real time. Wow. From having almost none users visiting my page, I got over 13000 new visitors during the weekend. That led to 422 clicks to Amazon and 6 sales.

Ok... I know you think that maybe I should be able to convert more sales with that kind of traffic, so I have a lot to work on. I also see that the new visitors are leaving my page very quick.

I hope this helps as back links for my Google rankings too. Does it work that way?

So if you are not into Reddit yet you should most definitely take a look. Not all my links gets that amount of traffic and many of my links has been removed because I didn't understand the rules, but it's easy to try again.

Wish you all the best

Andreas

Very cool Andreas. Your sites look great.

Thanks. :) Still working on it and adjusting all the time. I have a guy working on a logo on fiverr for example.

That is awesome! Thank you for the tip. Now I need to learn how to use Reddit because I haven't been able to figure it out.

Reddit it really cool. Previously I've used it to share links to flickr when I uploaded new photos and it sometime gave me thousands of new views there too. It can be a little bit tricky to figure out how to use it but I'm sure you will manage. :)

When I checked it out, it looked like you were not supposed to add links or the would be taken down. Should I look for the subcategory and add a link to my site or something else?

All subreddits has its own rules which is important to read. Some subreddits doesn't allow promotion or links to marketing materials. I added mine under Gadgets and the accept links to review of gadgets like the ones I have on my site.

Thank you for explaining that. I will look around and see if I can find a subreddit that pertains to my niche and allows links.

And always link to your page or post and not directly to affiliate links. :)

Thank you :)

Also, can we get access to the link you shared?

Sure. It was this one: http://newfitnessgadgets.com/finis-neptune-underwater-mp3-player Shared on a 'Gadgets' and a 'Swimming' subreddit.

If all the sales you had were this product then you have found a hot selling item right? I would get that page shared all over the place socially and see if it has the same results.

Just one of the sales was this product. :) Dont think this is a product most people would buy. I hit a nerver with this link on reddit and people started commenting and discussing it there.

I'm satisfied with my first sales, but with 13000 new visitors it's not very good with just 400 amazon link clicks and only 6 sales, right? :)

They are not targeted visitors though, any sales at all are good from that traffic

Were all the sales similar products or one product?

Just one of the sales was the actual product I promoted, the rest was other things.

Awesome. I don't know anything about reddit.com. Is it like a craigs list thing? Sounds like good marketing.

Reddit is a huge collection of links to pages, pictures and videos. There are lot of subreddits which are category pages. For instance this one with gadgets: http://www.reddit.com/r/gadgets.

When you post a link it start at level 1. People can vote it up and it also moves upwards if people comment your link. The further up a link goes, the more people sees it as interesting and more people click on your link.

It's important to make a headline that trigger peoples curiosity so they click on it. Most subreddits has its own rules you have to read, but if your link is removed just try again and study the rules even more.

Good luck. :)

Well done! Congratulations. That's awesome news!

Thanks. :)

That's brilliant Andreas. Will have to check out Reddit. Thanks for the advice.

Go check it out and try for yourself. Find subreddits related to your niche.

Had a look but have no idea what is going on. Any pointers as to how to get started? I will research what it is about and how to use it. Thank you.

I will make a tutorial here at WA I think when I'm allowed to do that.

That would be fantastic. Thank you.

Great job.

Thanks you. :)

Reddit is awesome. I remember posting an infographic from my website in there last month. I had like 500 visits in the first half hour. It's all about choosing the right subbredit. And congratulations on this success, more to come!

Its really cool when links take of and people vote them upwards. :) I shared mine on two related subreddits and got quite a lot of comments on both of them.

Big congrats,
I have never tried Reddit, but i think i will now.

Thanks. You should definitely check it out. Doesn't look like much when you enter the site, but it seems like many people use reddit.
