How do you properly avoid issues? Can I just reference sites I got it from? Also is it safe to talk about big companies like Nike, Apple, and McDonalds freely?

I am not sure about reciting other peoples words.

I try to avoid it altogether so, I use my own words and if you did recite someone else's words, I wouldn't use too many lines.

I also run my work through a paid service. Not sure if there are free tools but, I use Grammarly that will scan my articles against all the websites on the internet. So, far it has worked for me.

Anyhow, you may be able to find a free plagiarism service that will help you avoid plagiarism.

Here are some articles that might help you: And here is a Q and A that might help Hope this helps...

Greetings!

I see you already have two extremely good answers!
I follow those practices when doing a Review on my site, but to be surely safe I use the Plagiarism feature on Grammarly(.)com!

If you have to quote big chunks of text from another source it is suggested (but not proven) that the quotes are no more than 20-25% of the article/post - so, if you quoted 2 paragraphs worth from another source, you'd have to write 10 or so paragraphs in your own voice and material to maintain that percentage.

Sometimes you can cut out some of the material in a quoted block that you believe doesn't add to your message. If you do that then you need to add the punctuation mark like this [...] to show that some of the original text has been removed.

Of course, as suggested, the best way to avoid plagiarism is to write everything in your own words - not as easy as it looks though.

I hope that helps

You can talk about any company you want as long as it is your words, you are not stealing their IP and it is not slanderous or untrue..

As far as plagiarism, If i am reasearching, I copy bits of info I want onto a word doc, read ti and then retype it in my own words in my site content editor. In my experience, people get in trouble with plagiarism when they copy text over and try and rewrite it over the top.

You can copy and cite info but if you do that too much you end up with diuplication issues which can hurt your rankings.

hope this helps
