To find what keywords you're ranking for, hop into Google Search Console. Once inside your website dashboard, click the left sidebar where it says "Search Results"

Under "Queries", you'll see your top keywords. You can also click "pages", and see your most visited pages.

From there, you can modify the results based on whatever criteria you want. For example, you can change the date range for your top keywords (it's 3 months by default).

More importantly, if you click "Add New", then paste in an individual pages (still set on Queries), you'll see which pages are clicked on using which search queries.

I've always gone with low QSR and SEO score is a bonus because I don't really understand how they pull that number in.

But if the SEO score is high, does that mean that

Hi Alex.
Particularly as you are starting out a lower QSR (certainly below 100) is likely the most important so long as your SEO is still in the green. However, you do need to check out the actual competition for your keyword. Even if the QSR is very low, if all your competitors have great authority you are still going to have a problem getting to Page 1.

Your SEO Score helps your site for search engine optimization, higher rankings, and organic traffic. Your site's score is determined by four areas: Content, Technical, User Experience, and Mobile. So if your content (post or article) it will affect your SEO final score.

One of my articles ranked last week, my first ever ranking. The article is about a month old, the site is about 3 months old.

Here are the rankings by day:

May 25

A new website will sometimes gain fast, then suddenly lose rankings. It's called the "Google dance". It's normal. Some people call it the "sandbox" too, but that can also refer to penalties, and this is definitely not a penalty!

With new sites, Google flip-flops your position around to figure out where you fit best. If you were ranking before, the rankings will generally come back, with improvements. It could be a couple weeks, or a couple months. Hard to say. Depends on how much content you produce as well. If you write just one post in the next month, it might take longer.

If you're writing every day, you won't have to wait more than 2-3 weeks.

If it's good content, you can expect your new positions to improve. Keep producing good content, and you'll be fine.

You can also help those posts stuck in the Google dance by signaling to Google that they are actually good content (in your eyes).

The top result in a Google search gets around a 30% higher click-through rate. So if your main keyword is searched 5,000 times a month, not being number one means you're missing out on 1,700 website visitors a month.

Generally Google rankings fluctuate a lot when your site is in the sandbox, which means it's under 6 months. During that time, these crazy spikes and downs are NORMAL.

When your site gets more consistent authority, you will see this stabilize and see less crazy jumps. This is just how the SEO process works.

Exactly what I was looking for, thank you!

No problem!

According to theHoth, none of my articles are ranked by Google. According to Google Search Console, I have 2 clicks in the last week. According to Analytics, I have 2 ORGANIC c

Are you getting backlinks from The Hoth? Watch out for those. https://www.authorityhacker.com/link-building-services/ (skip to The Hoth section)

"The used car salesmen of SEO."

Trust Search Console and Analytics above the Hoth for sure. If search console says you're getting organic clicks, then that's what I'd go with. Just make sure they are not your own!

Hello Alex, if your posts are indexed, someone can find you even if you are on page 15 or 20 in google. Not everyone clicks only on the links on page 1.

Thank you for the clairification.
Another question if you don't mind:
I checked one of the pages with the organic click, with the keyword I was aiming for. With that keyword, my article was on page 2. Why does The Hoth say it isn't ranked?

To be honest, I don't know The Hoth. I check my rank in google search console clicking on "performance" on the left and then on the fields on the top next to number of clicks and number of views, when you click on two fields next to this, they turn green and orange and it shows you the average position of your posts.
I don't know if my explanation is clear, if not, let me know :)

The Hoth is looking to sell you some of their products so it benefits you for them to tell you things that are not accurate.

My average position for that specific post is 10.2. It was upload 3 weeks ago. Is that good? Is it ranked?

You say the "average position for that specific post is 10.2". That is what it has been ranked at. Position = rank. So it's appearing on page 1 or 2 and that's how you're getting organic clicks.

I'm on page 2 with an article that is 3 weeks old with a site 3 months old? It wasn't even one of my top-notch articles either!

I am probably getting excited for no reason, but man I am excited.

I see Marion gave you the perfect answer. Well yeah, reason to be excited :) Good job!
You never know how google evaluates a post sometimes you think this one will be the "hit" and it isn't and then you write something without big expectations and boom, there you go.
