Subscribers, WHAT?! - Or so I thought

I went to my users section in order to delete my "Admin" (original) user, since I only ever use a made-up username which is also an admin. Much to my surprise, I saw a host of other names and was worried for a slight second thinking someone had somehow hacked into my page and created a bunch of users. Then I noticed it said "Subscriber" in the role, and I got super excited because there are like 25 of them, and I've really done nothing at this point to advertise my blog. (Though I did receive one genuine comment from somebody a week or 2 ago, so people are coming across it somehow.)

But then I noticed that most of the "subscribers" have email address domains of mailcatch.com or krabbed.com, with a sprinkle here and there of something else.

I read a couple of forums that made it sound like mailcatch.com is a way to set up a blog for a hack...is that so? On the other hand, when reading mailcatch.com's own site, it sounds like it's a way to register for a site without giving your personal email address, which honestly makes complete sense to me if you want to leave a comment but don't want to commit yourself after that. That said, I have still only ever received the one comment.

Could these be people who legitimately want to follow the blog but haven't felt the need to make a statement? Or is it truly a threat and should I just delete everyone?

I'm still quite novice and haven't set up an RSS feed or anything (I kind of know what that is but am not at all well-versed)...what if *gasp* people actually do want to follow what I'm writing? Would THAT many people sign up with a temporary email address? It seems like the odds are not in my favor there....

Not sure what to do....

I would contact SiteSupport and see if they can do something about this...

Thank you, Boothe; I may do that. I just discovered that my other site actually was hacked, and got a whole bunch of emails about "new users." I'm wondering if that was the case for this one, as well (though I don't recall getting emails about users).
I will work on (learning about) cleaning out the hack...hopefully that will take care of it.

Thanks!
