Mixed Content Insecure Images with SSL on Firefox

Is your Mixed Content warning for images showing up in Firefox, but Chrome is showing as secure? Are you confused because SSL is included in your WA-hosted site?

That's what was plaguing me, and I finally ended up submitting a Site Support ticket after reading a plethora of articles that did not help me.

I'm not sure if there's any action Support took in the background as well or if they were just trying to eliminate the usual suspects in the usual order, but they ultimately suggested that I clear my history and cache (always a good first step). I attempted this...but my Firefox opens in private mode automatically anyway, so there wasn't actually any history for me to delete. The option wasn't even there.

I went so far as to get the browser out of private mode and clear every bit of history and cache for all time--but it still didn't clear the mixed content warning!! I tried it several times, closing and reopening the browser each time for a fresh start. I felt bad for Site Support because we had already had at least 3 back-and-forths, and I know they're busy, so I didn't want to keep bugging them.

At this point, I'm at a loss, and grrr...I am determined to figure this out because I don't want to have to re-upload all of my images, especially not even knowing if that will solve the issue since I don't know what the issue is!

So, after my multitude of ineffective history- and cache-clearing trials, I dug deeper into the levels of Firefox's browser options--and I finally figured it out!

This seems to be just a one-off thing with Firefox and (apparently) isn't at all related to the history or cache, so it may not be a quick answer for someone else trying to figure it out. I'm posting this in hopes that it might be able to help even one person, because this was quite perplexing for me!

Now bear in mind that I'm no IT (or any kind of) expert (*disclaimer stating that I have no responsibility for your website*), so take any actions at your own risk, etc, but....

Here's what I did:

I kept my mixed-content page open, and in a separate tab:

1. Hamburger menu (top right)\ Options
2. Privacy & Security
3. HTTPS-Only Mode (at the very bottom)
4. "Enable HTTPS-Only Mode in all windows"

When I refreshed my mixed-content tab, the warning triangle disappeared!! Only the beautiful SSL security lock remained. I tested it a few times just to be sure, with the same outcome. Yippee!!

(This is for Firefox. I cannot speak to any other browser at this point. I also don't know if someone viewing your website would need to do the same thing.)
