I’m in once again!
I’m back.
After more than two weeks of being denied access to the Wealthy Affiliate platform from my PC, I finally figured out what was wrong.
I’ve been a part of this amazing community for nearly two years now and when I’m not at work; my world revolves around WA and of course my websites. That’s why it was difficult for me not being able to access WA on my desktop.
As I said, I had no problem opening WA on my phone and tablet with either Google or Firefox browsers but couldn’t access it using my PC. So I knew that the problem lies in my computer’s settings.
I reached out to the community for help; I also submitted a Site Support ticket and was advised to try another internet service provider (ISP). Switching to another network provider would mean canceling our subscription with our current provider and applying with another.
This did not even cross my mind because of the inconvenience it will cause not only to me but also to my colleagues who I am currently sharing home internet services with.
I truly appreciate those who tried to help out like Eliz65 who suggested I tried another browser.

I did try to troubleshoot my computer. I cleared all my cache, history and all that; I opened my windows firewall, reset our internet modem and restored my computer settings to a much earlier date and time.
Interestingly, after doing the last two actions, I was able to access WA but only for a few minutes as the setting automatically reverts back.
I got so frustrated that I considered canceling my yearly premium membership. But then I thought, “If I could not access WA on my PC, why not buy a laptop?” But that would mean spending at least US$500.00.
Well, I wasn’t ready to give up on my computer and spend on a laptop. Not yet! So I put my mind and hands to work. I uninstalled my AVG antivirus app and installed the latest version.
It turned out there’s a secure browser that comes with it. So I launched it and tried to access WA. Guess what, I did it. I finally did it. Now I can do the happy dance.
Now, I can start working on my websites and interact with the Wealthy Affiliate community once again.
The lesson here: Never, ever give up. When everything else you’ve done has failed, try something else. You can take a break but never, ever give up.

I really couldn't do much on my phone or Ipad and honestly I don't know how others do it. I mean write and publish articles without a desktop or laptop.
I did not include this in my blog but I actually sought the help of our company's IT. He came over to my place and tried his best to fix the problem.
Well, he found out that other than AVG antivirus, there are 3 more antivirus apps so he uninstalled them and only kept AVG.
He restarted my computer and told me to try opening WA and I was able to. Five minutes after he left, I realized the problem wasn't fixed. I didn't want to bother him again so I thought maybe I will try uninstalling AVG which I thought was outdated and install the latest one instead.
Our IT was not able to fix my computer but he gave me the idea to do what I did so I still owe him.

I having this same problem with now. I did all the thing you did. You said you until installed you virus protection and reinstalled. I tried it on another browser to and it hooked and then back to cannot connect, Can you PM me and give me more details because I am dying here. Thank you

Welcome back to WA and I am glad that everything worked out for you. And that you are back working again that is great news and doing the happy dance of course.
And just for future reference, you can get a laptop online for a cheaper price. But I am glad that everything got fixed and you are back working at WA.
