Make sure you compress your images before you upload them to your site on WP.

A great free tool is https://compressimage.toolur.com

They will compress your images by about 80% without losing image quality which in turn will speed up your web page. Make sure every image gets compressed if possible.

Hello Alona,

I have 12 plugins and my speed is fine.
I suggest that you scale your pictures while in WP editor.

Are you using a social media sharing plugin?
There are certain plugins that - despite having great features - dramatically slow down your website speed.

No, I don't use social media sharing plugging. But thank you anyway!

Hi, I had the same issue. My website speed was around 60 in mobile mode and 90 in desktop mode. I contacted the site support center, they said my site speed was fine. But I was not happy with that.

I watched Jerry's training, you can find it here: After following his training and optimized all the images I uploaded on my site. The site speed increased a little but still pretty slow in my sight.

Yesterday I read Laura's post: "My Mistake Is Your Gain". I realized that maybe the home page of my website was the main problem.

So I did some change. That really worked. Now my site speed is about 87 in mobile mode and 100 in the desktop. Pretty good jump up.

Here is something maybe you can try:
1, check your landing page, make sure there are not too many heavy pictures. If there are, use some online tools to compress them then re-upload.
the tool I am using is https://imageresize.org/compress-images

2, If you set your homepage as "Your latest posts", make sure each article in a feed is Summary instead of Full text.

3, It seems you have tons of heavy images already uploaded. Watch Jerry's or other training and re-size the big images.
You want to use "jpg" or "jpeg", not "png" for your images unless you need them to be very clear.

I hope this helps.

Amy

BTW, I have 7 plugins too. smartketeer has a post here about how to chose plugins that won't affect your site.

thank you, Amy!

Thank you so much very helpful!

You are welcome. Hope it works.

Hey Alona,

There are several tutorials and blog tips on increasing your site speed. See screen print below to see how you can find them...

Hope you find this helpful.

Thank you! I'll give it a try again.

hey hi Alona -- this may sound simplistic ---

would you have checked to ensure your Site Speed is ON -- there are also two speeds available if your site is hosted on WA ...

Simply go to Websites>>Site Manager>>Details>> Site Speed>>click ON, choose Accelerated or Extreme ...

Hope that helps a wee bit ... all the best, cheerio ... ⭐️🎈

Yes, I did. It's on, thank you!

wonderful! ... enjoy the amazing WA journey to success!

cheerio ... 😊

Hi, 7 plugins probably aren't too many. The 5 in the training is a guide - just make sure what you use are required and not just to make things look fancy.
You are right about the images, make sure they are compressed. Remove any that aren't required.
Enable Caching - there are plugins for this.
Check your theme - it makes a difference believe me.

That would be my advice as someone who is new to this.
I'm sure others will have some good advice for you as well.

All the best,
Mark

Thank you, Mark, so much! What is good to enable caching plugging, would you suggest? My theme is always updated.

PM me if you want any more suggestions not sure i can help but here are some page speed results

there are a few things you can try , I had some success in speeding up my site by upgrading ewww pluggin for 9$ I believe you get 3500 images , just know that your wordpress theme actually creates 5 - 7 images sizes every time you add a image .

- Make sure that your wordpress theme is not responsable , I use generate press , and upgraded but there are many that are light and load fast.

switch from accelerated to extreme in site plus see image

Thank you just switched from accelerated to extreme
