Just curious what keeps everyone motivated here at WA. I know there are endless scenarios for us all. We all have our reasons as well as a unique story.

I realize that I might be a bit late with regards to adding value to this discussion...but I was hoping if I may still share a few thoughts.

My motivation can best be summed up in two lines from the song '9 to 5' (written by the great American songwriter, Dolly Parton).

The lyrics are as follows:
"They let you dream, just watch 'em shatter
You're just a step on the boss man's ladder”

I have given some of the most productive years of my life to working for people who demonstrate their appreciation through a level of apathy that's almost cosmological in scale.

In short...I want to become an affiliate marketer because I need to remind myself that there is a connection between reward and hard-work.

I hope that my simple words will provide you with some sort of interesting insight :)

I'd like to do online marketing Monday to Friday and reduce my hours in my current job to weekend shifts.

I also find I enjoy online marketing in a way that I haven't enjoyed any other previous undertaking. Working towards a good in the rank in the community really keeps me motivated! Cheers, thanks for the blog!

Thanks for the response, Mac! I love my day job and don't see a reason to leave but I would like to create my own second source of income as well. I want to pay down debt as quickly as I can. Plus, I think about one day if I were to have a family and how amazing it would be to work from home if I needed to.

Having and online business sure does give you some options that aren't always possible on a more defined career trajectory... I think that's ultimately what a lot of us want. :)

Great question. I was wondering about this myself!

I knew I wasn't the only one. Hope these comments have helped you a bit too.

I have 5 plugins on my site, putting me at 90% and they are:
1. Google Analytics by Yoast
2. Yoast SEO
3. Pretty Link Lite
4. Sumo Me --for social sharing
5. Cookie consent

The plugins you have really depend on how you want your site to behave and act. It also depends on what you want to focus on. Since I have several pages running and am posting frequently I find analytics and sharing to be more important. I really enjoy pretty link lite since it tracks the clicks on each link unlike just a regular link.

Personally, I would exclude plugin number 2 from the list. Just my preference.
