I forwarded my site’s email account to my iCloud, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to send an email from my site domain email account!

Pl

Assuming you are using gmail (but I suspect most emails will have similar steps since the principle is the same), go to the settings from the button in the top right and then go to the Accounts and Import tab.

Next, enter the email details from your domain in the popup window. The SMTP server details, port, username and password can be accessed from your Site Dashboard and then the Site Email tab. Click on SMTP settings for the details. Let me know if you need more help! :)

Oops, sorry Scott..to quick on the trigger. This is your training...right?

Lol, it's all good. Thanks for offering up my training. Sadly, I didn't do one on how to send mail from your google account as your domain user.

Hi, have you completed the following training yet? Mike

Hey Mike,

Yes, I have completed that training, but I was hoping for a little more detailed info about photo’s and other media, and also tags and categories in the SEO back office section under each post.

Thank you for getting back to me, though, and I did go back over that lesson just now so I’m good. Plus, I got the images answer from a couple of people so I’m good now!

Cheers,
Allison

Do I set affiliate links, internal links to my own content, external links to someone else’s relevant content, and any type of link that I may have forgotten to Follow or

Hi Allison,

Now, I am not saying that nofollow links hurt your rankings, instead, I am saying they have no impact.

Nofollow is an HTML attribute that allows you to tell Google and other search engines not to pass any SEO value to a specific link. Essentially, as the name suggests, it tells Google’s crawler robots not to “follow” the link.

Here are some situations where you might want to use the nofollow attribute for external links:

Sponsored links/ads – if you’re receiving payment for a link, either directly or via something like an affiliate program, it’s a best practice to apply a nofollow tag to avoid seeming like part of a link scheme.
Untrusted content – nofollow lets you say “I’m linking to this page, but I don’t want to be seen as vouching for its content”. This is especially helpful for dealing with comment spam links, though you might also want to use it in your own content.

If you want to automatically nofollow all the links in blog comments on your WordPress site, go to Settings → Nofollow in your WordPress dashboard.

Then, check the box for Nofollow all links in comments? and click Save Changes

Attached file

Once activated, any links that appear in your blog comments will automatically have the nofollow attribute applied.

I wish you a wonderful day Allison!

Hello Peter,

Wow! That was a extremely informative and concise response to my question. Now I fully understand what NoFollow is and when and how to use it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write me such a thorough response! It really helped me to wrap my mind around the concept!

And since it was so good, I gave you a follow because you are exactly the type of community member that I would like to interact with often so I can learn more from you!

Cheers,
Allison

Do I need to have a seperate affiliate disclosure page on my website? Also, do I need to mention it in each post that contains affiliate links or should I add it to my About Me

I have a separate page in my main menu.

Derek

Hey Derek,

Thank you! I’ve been researching it myself, however and all the information I’ve found says that even if you have a separate Affiliate Disclosure Page, that you still have to have a statement on each individual post with an affiliate link BEFORE the link or within view of the link in that you are not forced to read past it in order to see the disclosure.

Here is a link to that post where I found that info:
https://www.termsfeed.com/blog/affiliate-disclosure/

What do you think?

Cheers,
Allison

Hello Allison,

It looks like I will have to update some, or possibly all of my web pages to conform to the FTC rules.

Derek

Hello again,

Yeah, I’m glad I decided to research it a little bit on my own. It seems like maybe that is something that should be added into the training in a little more depth.

So I’m glad I found that page because I found it really helpful! A really good post to take some inspiration from, in my humble opinion!

Cheers,
Allison

It certainly is Alison.

Derek

Separate page.
Most members have it in their Footer or on their Sidebar along with their Privacy Page.

Hey Robert,

I just copied and pasted from my reply to the comment above...hope you don’t mind...

Hello again Allison.
I have had my Disclosure on a separate page on all my sites and link to it only now and again.
Never ever had any problems doing it this way.
Also I don't have to bother with what the FTC says because I'm a UK resident and this will also be so for people in other countries.

I have the GDPR and link to further information for that and this seems to be ok with the search engines.

By the way you should also have something about the GDPR if you plan on advertising/promoting in European Countries.

Enjoy your Monday.
Robert

See my other reply.

Hello Robert,

Thank you for the info. That is a great point, and if we are using a .com domain aren’t we automatically promoting worldwide - hence the worldwide community here at WA? Thanks for the information and I’ll be sure to look more into it!

Cheers,
Allison

The FTC is only for US Citizens.
Every other country will have their own Official Body they must deal with.
Here in the UK we have the HMRC.
Everyone who promotes or sells on a website no matter where in the world they are MUST have the GDPR on their website(s).

I'm off for the night now but you get stuck, you get in touch.
Robert

Hi - just create it as a separate page, and add it to your top navigation menu.
