I am trying to move one of my sites to godaddy.com. When I enter my ftp username and password, I get a message that says it doesn't exist. I have entered it manually and also co

basically i'm trying to transfer one of my sites to go daddy and it says FTP username or password invalid, have tried several times and triple checked spelling, WA help have confirmed the same details as i've been trying but still getting same error, so not really sure what to do

Which FTP program are you running on your computer?

i wasn't even aware i was running a FTP program, just a basic pc windows desktop computer

You would use an FTP program (such as Filezilla) on your PC to transfer the files from a website at one hosting company to a new site on a different hosting service.

To do the transfer, you'll need to download the files from the old hosting company's servers to your desktop PC and then upload them (again using the FTP program) to the new hosting company's servers.

Sorry, I'm a bit unclear on where you're running into the problem. (Your WA site and your godaddy account will have different names and passwords for their FTP connections.)

Are you having the problem when connecting to your WA FTP account to copy the site's files from WA to your system? Or are you having the problem connecting to your godaddy FTP account to copy the site's files from your system to godaddy?

I am having exact same issue saying FTP username or password invalid? any suggestions?

Alley Cat did you get your answer

Ken, a site that I have created as a WA member, through WA and registered with my own domain.

Did you change the dns to Godaddy?

What site are you trying to move.
