Hi Aline
It looks like you've been hit with 2 Google actions - 1 called YMYL (Your money Your life) and EAT (Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness)
YMYL sites are those in the health and financial markets (although I think it's growing into the purchasing space too) and it's basically Google covering its hiney so that if the searcher takes any action with the returned search results; Big G won't be slapped with a lawsuit if that info is wrong (I 'think' it came about because someone typed into the search engine "I have a pain in my chest and my left arm is numb - what should I do" and one of the top results returned was all about echinacea and not Phone 911 You're having a heart attack!! - however, that could just be internet gossip)
So, now, you have to 'prove' to the search engines that you are qualified to write about this - so you need to be in the health industry (ideally you can link to your LinkedIn profile, or your hospital public record), qualified OR going through it yourself - automatically makes you 'qualified'
E.A.T. is slightly more difficult to get around and will only come with time and effort.
!. Expertise - OK< we kinda covered that in the YMYL section above - if you are using massive supplement intake to change your health, then that makes you more qualified than someone who isn't.
2. Authoritativeness: To become an 'Authority' means that you need to create the best resource out there with each and every post. You need to publish something so good that leaders in the field will happily link to because it's so good.
3. Trustworthiness: This comes from #2 - if you're publishing content that field leaders are linking to the the search engines are going to say to themselves "Well, people are linking to her stuff, it must be good, we'll start to trust her" and they'll begin to push your content higher up the page.
Sorry, this is getting long
A way you could get into the field and make your voice heard is not by talking about 'medicine' but instead, talk about 'supplements'. The supplement field is less regulated than the medicine field and regular punters will recognize a 5000mg dose of Vitamin C more readily than if you wrote it as 5000mg of (5R)-[(1S)-1,2-Dihydroxyethyl]-3,4-dihydroxyfuran-2(5H)-one / ascorbic acid
I hope this kinda helps
Google has recently rolled EAT and health sites (from what I`ve read)need authority and it will take time for Google to trust you. Some platforms even now advise against going for some niches if you do not have the qualifications to prove it. Having said that, I don`t know to who you`ll have to show the qualifications.
Look around, I`m sure you`ll be able to find a niche that`s not health-related. You can still create a 2nd site at a later stage on the health niche.
Hi - health and wellness is one of the top three most popular niches and is therefore very competitive.
You dont necessarily need medical qualifications, but Google will expect to see some level of authority.
So, would you be able to write these type of posts using your own knowledge or would you simply be re-writing content that is already published? Google likes to see fresh, original information.
That's a good question. I was thinking to use information that I read about but using my own filters connected to reviews of people that have tried such a therapy, e. g. book reviews.
