Hi guys! I've recently hired a writer to write some extra articles for me. The articles written well but I wanted to make sure that it's not rewrote or taken from somewhere els

A great solution is smallsotools com has a free content checker.

Thanks Samuel )

I'm glad you asked this question, Ali. I got some good tips!

Nice to see that it was useful for you. )

I usually randomly choose a couple of sentences. I'll check Google like you did. I was happy to see that you do that sometimes. The times that I have found plagerism, one sentence showed the person copied the entire article or business plan.

I don't buy enough articles to justify spending money or time with other software programs.

Hmm...I've never done that, I think I'll start. Thanks, Sondra.

You are welcome! It works really well. Be sure to use the parentheses at front and back.

Gottcha!

Thanks Sondra for your suggestion. My I ask how many articles you write weekly?

It varies wildly. My goal is at least 8 posts.

Impressive!

Thanks Marion and if it says that content isn't duplicate, can I rely on it and don't need to check anything else?

Hi Ali,
I also use a this site which is free and has all kinds of different tools:

Hope this helps! :)

That's a good one! Thanks, Marion!

Thanks for sharing this, Denis!

Hi Ali,

It can be a bit daunting when you are competing against the big boys but I've managed to outrank them on a few occasions. I don't let it worry me too much because I know I may rank higher on other search engines and also for other keywords. My first #1 rank was my best achievement and I am now above the manufacturer of the TV box that I am reviewing. I have no idea how that happened but I don't care lol.

Geoff has some good advice, just keep creating quality content and aim for the low hanging fruit. Sounds like we have sites at a similar age.

Hi Craig, thanks for your suggestion. Yes I remember we've talked before and I've looked into your site when you published your success post. Now with all suggestions that I've got here, it's more clear for me that I should continue writing quality content and hope result will come.
Just to make sure, is uktvservicesabroad.com your website address which you got number 1 rank with it?

Best,
Ali

Hi Ali, yes that's right. The keyword was "moonbox tv box".

Best,
Craig.

Hi Ali, see what Nathaniell writes in reply to me,

Thanks Jovo

Walmart is a perfect example. If you go to Walmart and ask an employee about a product on their shelf they know nothing. Just that it is there and the price. However if you go to a locally owned store and ask them about the same product they will have any answer you need or will find it for you. The reason is because they care about you and their products.
Internet business is the same just with more potential traffic to your site.

I like this. Makes a lot of sense, but not sure if it helps online.

Big players will always be there, and they will outrank you with images only and a couple of sentences. I am not as optimistic as some who commented. You cannot compete with ecommerce sites but you have to try, no alternative except to become one of them...

Thanks Jovo, actually most of the time it happens for my keywords related to my review articles. As I've mentioned, since my niche is smartphones, every time that I want to write a review for a smartphone (even when I don't use review word in my keyword), there're always big sites like CNET on the first page although I find low hanging fruit keywords which has for example 2 or 3 QSR and more than 100 monthly searches but there're still those big dogs when I check it in google. So how can I write a review when they're always there?! Yes, I write general articles too and link them into review (while I use keywords that seem there're not big dogs on the first page) but like anyone else, I prefer to get rank with my review posts. So shouldn't I write review because there're big ones?

What you describe is that qsr is meaningless. It can be zero and you will still have huge competition, this is because searches with quotes are negligible.

If you are able to rank well with general articles then this is something to push, but do not give up with reviews.

The same is at my side so I understand you well.

So there's no way to get rank with review keywords even if we use title like what are the best...how to... and etc. only because there're review articles?

I think Google ignores "what is" "the best" so only the core keyword remains and then it is hard to rank, bear this in mind, see here: But the answer to your question is no, It is possible to rank even with big players around. I have cases where I outrank Amazon and the brand's text about an item which I promote.

Thank you Jobo, appreciate it )

I'm just started here but from my own experience searching on google I almost always never go to the big dog sites. I'll go down to the 5th or 6th result if needed or maybe further to avoid those big companies. Big dog sites aren't there to help you anyway they are just there to sell. They carry product but aren't really an expert or helpful in the long run. If you offer great content that helps me and provides me with great knowledge as well as product you will be where I go every time. Through your content and site you give the perception as an expert who cares and you will be chosen over the big dogs.

Just my two cents.

Number 1 grabs more than 32 percent of traffic. Number 15 only 0.4 percent. If you are on the second page, you do not exist.

Thank you Kris for your help.

ali -it seems you have some very good answers below.
for my tuppence worth i will throw in that you must start using lsi keywords - since i have done this i am on page 2 for most posts now- dropping back to page 3 then floating again.
don't forget to use tags wisely - i rank on page one for a couple of tags with the post on page 2
if the tech site is broad become known as a niche specialist. produce the epic posts of 4k words and above - make it yours - then talk to the big guys and see if they are interested in sending you any visitors in exchange for a post. use their bigness.
become known for the top10 phones, the best xxx - do your research and even own a couple - take pictures of it in action, do you have killer apps you put on there to help you - well that is another post - top 10 killer apps for the xxxx smartphone. have a look in t3 mag and others see what is going on and if they are successful copy or improve on their format - ask around for what other info would people like to see, how do they want things reviewed.
don't be afraid of going up against the big guys - they are only there because google has nothing specific to put on page one - heere comes ali

good luck
phil

Got what you mean very well Phil thank you. Just wanted to make sure if it's worth to put my energy on writing articles for keywords while there're big competitors but according to your suggestion, I'll probably get my chance and go a head to see what happens! ) Thanks again )

Good question and some very good answers. Thank ya'll!!

Bill

You're welcome )

You got a glimpse into actually researching your competition. A lot of people see those rankings and think oh no I'll never rank why try. They never clicked the links to see what kind of content was there.

Many of the big corporations throw a picture up and 50 or 100 words to follow. Your quality post may take some time to rank, but it will beat those type of posts.

Really? Check out Trinidad reel review and you'll see my small little site above all the big dogs. Write premium quality content and learn your seo.

Nice done Geoff! I've checked it. What's your site name? ) Well I don't know about your niche but could you tell me what are those big dogs on the first page that you're above of them? They don't look well-known in my eyes. ( Of course maybe I don't know them ). My niche is tech and I mean , CNET, PCMAG etc as big competitors... )

I go up against PCMag on my business site. There's a lot more competition in that niche. Your competitors are also creating quality content.

Kyle teaches you right in the Bootcamp training. I suggest reading Neil Patel too. He provides good insights on how to attack search engines.

I'm fishtfight. Bloodydecks is huge and you can't tell me you've never heard of Shimano.

Thanks man, will keep in my mind your suggestions )

Well done, Geoff! Number one ranking over the big guys. I'm impressed. Nice clean looking site with well written content too.

-Patrick

Be careful because it's easy to start the mental mind games when you don't see posts performing well initially. It takes time but the more you put out there, the quicker it will build.

Could you let me know where I can find Neil Patel guide?

Lol. Just start searching online. He comes up everywhere. Put how to make an affiliate website into google. He'll come up.

It's good to follow Kyle's advice. Neil puts it in different words. My advice for what it's worth is to just keep posting. Time is the best experience and teacher. After a while, your understanding of search engines will grow.

I'm following Kyle and I'm posting on a regular basis for 4,5 months now. My site is also 6,7 months old but as I've mentioned, I always see those big dogs when I want to write review articles so I wanted to make sure if I should keep posting on those keywords.

I have managed to rank amongst some big competitors.
Grab some low hanging fruit, right good content and keep churning them out!
Some rank, some don't.
It's all a numbers game :-)

Thanks John, I write based on low hanging keywords and just want to make sure if I should go ahead and write my article if there're big sites or no...) So your advice is don't focusing on those competitors and write my article even if there're big sites on the first page, right?

Lety jump in for John and apologies to him as well:

Putting out quality, well-informed content, complete with keywords of appropriate quality will, over the long haul, put you in a better position than those sites that don't. Period.

Click on a few of the one at the top and take a good look at them; see what they are doing and do it better, do it with more and do more.

Mickeyb

Yes, definitely! :-)

Thanks Mickeyb, it's always nice to read your answers. The thing is that I guess 90% of people here work on weight loss, IM or making money niche and maybe they don't understand what I mean very well. I'm doing my best but how I can compete and being better than CNET for example in writing reviews? I mean only review keywords because I would like to rank for them. I guess it's also the same for other niches. How a person with new website in IM niche can be better than entrepreneur.com for example? Actually It's even logical if they rank better. Because they're there for a long time and provide quality articles for their readers every day so that's not strange if Google like them more but actually I'm looking for a solution or believing that it really can happen. Maybe someone with a real example can convince, who got better rank than those big sites for a review keyword with his site.

Hi, Ali!
I have the website about GPS navigation. It includes different topics related to GPS and smartphone navigation apps, pros and cons as well.
I like your idea about community, sharing experience and exchanging related theme backlinks could help us to increase rankings. You can look at my gpsnavigationsite dot com and say what you think.
BTW, the main monetization is Amazon AdSense is just for fun.
Take care and hope to see you again.

Hi Andrejs, great! I've looked at your site and I liked it. Although as a graphic designer, visual things always come to my eyes first so I guess your first page can be more attractive but I liked simplicity that you've used on your site design which is an important factor in my opinion. Anyway, I hope others come up who are in this industry then we can make a community and share our experience.
It's nice to see that you've your site from 2015. It's a long time. How is your progress? Are you satisfied with the result? I don't ask directly how much you're making with that GPS site now because that's not polite! but it's nice if you could give me a point about that part.
By the way, just to make sure about your last sentence, you mean your main monetization is Amazon and use AdSense just for fun right?
I'm running a website about smartphones but I guess it takes time to see result. Although it's up for almost 6 months now but because I've didn't focus on a specific part (like you did) and didn't monetize site well, I've didn't get satisfaction result but I'm sure something good will happen in the future ;)

Hello, again Ali!
All in all, I am satisfied with my site progress. Let's say the monthly income easily cover WA Black Friday deal. I do not wanna dive deep into details just GPS devices, and related items are quite expensive and even relatively low conversion rate (this quarter 6,5%) gives decent earnings. What product to promote? I have made the conclusion which really works, for me at least for sure. As soon as I have three identical product orders, I began to study it in more detail and even writing a separate post. It doubles even triple orders and the final result.
AdSense? My thinking is that not good idea to mix. AdSense works just need to find and rank high on an expensive niche as Credit Cards, Cruise, Security Systems blah, blah. It is hard, I know.
So I just making an experiment inserting AdSense adds, need to get rid of them.
I guess that related backlinks Google bots do not leave unheeded.
Smartphone niche is very demanded and profitable, just harder to reach the first page in Google.

Thank you dear Andrejs for your detailed answer, really appreciate it. Wish you best success in your online business )

for the posts use whatever you want, resize the pictures in something like paint. i tend to use 480 pixels horizontal.but it depends on what size you want in the post - full width or small
once inserted i tend to size them to 200 horizontal and place on the right.
it comes down to hat you want -make sure they are small kb not mb otherwise it will take forever to load in mobile and desktop.
have fun

Thank you phil, I got it )

In WP, go to Settings > Media and you can set the dimensions you require.

See screenshot of my settings.

When inserting an image from the media library, you will be given a drop down menu to select one of 3 choices - thumbnail, medium or large.

Header sizes are theme specific. Go to Appearances > Customize, or (Header). In the customize section for the header, for example, my theme says:

"While you can crop images to your liking after clicking "Add New Image", your theme recommends a header size of 1080 × 190 pixels."

If it does not specify a size, hopefully it means the size is adjusted automatically to fit your theme.

Hey all! I wanted to know how I can find default image size for my theme? I've read the theme document and there's no mention to image size. Does it mean that it'll use wordpre

Glad you managed to get it sorted out Ali. Xx

Good query and answers, much appreciated.

Leon B.

I am glad that you asked this question Ali. WA has taught me a lot, but there are a world of things that are just assumed, like image sizes. Thanks for asking.

You're welcome )

Hey everyone! Hope you'll are fine and experience happy days.
I have a question and hope you can help me as always )

I wanted to write a post and target two keywords?

My understanding is if you repeat key words too much that google may not rate you very good,or could knock your site off, but why don't you go to the top of the screen and ask your question or ask like you did earlier but go ask in one of the class rooms? If you can not get what you want to know, there is Kyle you can ask even if you have to PM him! Hope this helps.
cheers,
william

Thanks william, it's a long time that Kyle doesn't reply my messages and I don't know why. Maybe there's a technical issue and he doesn't get my messages. This question is also asked in Keyword,niche... class room and you can see that there's not still an appropriate answer. I don't want to use keywords too much in my text.
One of the problems with asking questions is that it takes time to get an answer from an expert when you ask your question. You can see that here are many answers but there isn't any ambassadors. Some people answer questions and only want to rank in WA without understanding the issue and problem that explained in the question.
Anyway thanks for your replying.

Ali-M, I am sorry that you are having a hard time getting help. Its not like Kyle to not get back to you in a timely manner. I do know he has been very busy on the new training. I will see if I can maybe get some one to help you! Please hang in there!
cheers,
william

Thanks but doesn't matter. I try to find answer of my questions somewhere outside of WA. That's not the first time that it happened for me.

I think that as many times that you can introduce your keywords without being obnoxiously redundant is good for promotion and marketing...but than's just me...

Thanks Arthur, so it seems that there is no any specific place if I want to target two keywords at the same time.

Didn't get any answer yet...

As I learn from training course of Kyle
Keyword is not importing than the beneficial.
The google rank from the engagement of people sharing and engagement of the article.

Hope this may help.
Thank you for interesting question.

Thanks for your answer )

One keyword per post is all you need. You'll find that Google will naturally rank your posts for other keyword terms that are based around your main one.

For example; I have one review post that is ranking for 5 or 6 other keyword terms related to my main phrase.

Hope this helps.

Neil

Thanks Neil and I agree totally with you. But sometimes I accidentally find two good keywords so why I shouldn't both? ) I just wanted to know if there's the best place where I can put the second one (the same as the main keyword in title and first paragraph) or not.

Interesting question not done this yet

Yea, hope an expert will come up with a great answer ;)

I'd say that... let it just flow with the text ;)

But maybe someone else opens our eyes to a mind-blowing strategy on that.

Thanks Israel, appreciate it )
By the way, I was in Barcelona last summer. It's very beautiful city, especially magic fountain of montjuic in the night. ;)
