You Don't Have To Be The Best Writer To Be Successful

Writing for the web can be one of the most rewarding but yet one of the most challenging things that we can take on, doing it successfully can create a whole new meaning to life.

Starting out one of the first questions that we need to ask ourselves is why will folks want to come to our content, visit our websites or for that matter purchase product or promotions that we present. One thing that can be the first to knock on our doors is the realization that nobody owes you any attention, unfortunately, like the rest of life, we have to earn it.

That first realization can almost be show-stopping, along with the self-doubt about our ability to write in the first place. I suspect that is one of the main reasons folks tend to give up on their dreams of creating a better lifestyle through their written words.

To become good at anything we need to devote time to learn, grow and flourish, writing is no different. Some folks have a natural raw talent that can help to propel their words to the world, for the majority of us it is a long haul one that is worth the effort at the end of the day.

We are living in extraordinary times, the ability to create content aligned with the ability to self-publish is unparalleled in human history, so there are countless opportunities for us to achieve beyond our wildest dreams.

The question posed; do we have to be one of the best writers to be successful?

The short answer is no we don't have to be the best writer.

Then what kind of writer do we need to aspire to be?

We need to apply ourselves and write, one of the things that we definitely need to do is write consistently and if there was one defining quality to becoming a successful writer then that is it in a nutshell.

Be consistent, we may not be that good starting out but if we constantly write with a sense of purpose then the results will come, that can be what defines us. The thing is that we can all do it and the resources here at Wealthy Affiliate provide us with the tools and knowledge to create good web content.

I asked a writer and marketer that I follow who specializes in the review field the reason for their success.

" I have kept writing and writing consistently, way after some of my contemporaries have stopped."

That kind of says a lot.

Great encouragement, Alex. Thank you.

Hi Arnold, you are most welcome we can all get to where we want to be one of the great things about this industry is that we don't have to get permission to publish the content that we create we are in control, so if we consistently strive to create we will get better at what we will do. Thank you for stopping by.

One of the advantages to this type of writing is you really don't have to write a lot at one time. Most of our posts are going to be around 1000 words. So let's say you write one post a week-a respectable, steady pace. That's less than 200 words a day. Even if you are not a natural writer, you can probably manage that. And if you set your mind to writing 200 words a day consistently, you'll find it comes naturally to you over time.

An encouraging good simple math...In time a vast asset will be built but real persistence and consistency do not come easily. Fortunately, the WA supporting souls and helping hands make online asset-building possible. Thank God for having inside WA community, which could not be found elsewhere in the world.

Well said, Ephraim, everything can be broken down to bite size chunks it works, we can all build momentum as we move along. writing is a craft which we can all learn and the beauty of it become proficient.

I take it that you are enjoying your WA journey James, we are indeed fortunate to be involved the support is something that helps many to achieve beyond their own expectations for sure.
building up day by day writing can become a really enjoyable experience.

Absolutely true Alex, I read it and fully endorsed it. Let's keep writing whatever it takes.

Hi Phomrong, that is what will get us to where we want to be and in the word press world, it is a prerequisite for success so yes indeed let's keep writing.

Writing content and producing it consistently I consider being one of the more difficult tasks. Whilst some have little trouble others struggle especially to produce unique catchy content. Yes, we do have great resources here in WA and all can contribute but I find it difficult.
Thank you for your continued encouragement of all members, Alex :)

Hi, Carol thank you for sharing your thoughts and insights. It can be hard to consistently produce content. One of the watershed writing events can be when we actually start to enjoy writing. Having said that there is definitely an ebb and flow to the process. I guess that it is something that evolves as we move forward, it can be done, thank you for your kind words.

Good marketing ability plays in as the other part of the equation Alex!

You have raised a really valid point, Mike managing and marketing the content that is created is really important.

I enjoyed reading this, thank you.

Hi, Monica, you are most welcome, it can be overlooked sometimes if we keep writing we will improve.

Thanks for sharing, Alex.

Hi, Roger, you are most welcome.

That is a real magic - be consistent and persistent in what we plan to succeed. That is it; I agree. I follow every bit what you suggest. Thank you.

James

Hi, James good to see you Glad that you found some value in the post. So true if we are consistent we can improve our ability to create content. gradual and incremental progress is what we are all striving to obtain, all the best for your quest.

Couldn't agree more.

Perseverance is really the keyword for what we're doing here.

So, let us hold hands tighter for succeeding in E-Marketing. If your time allows, I appreciate you to take a look at my 37-day baby - www.ebettercare.com and comment / suggest so to push it into the right orbit of E-Marketing sphere as soon as possible.

Best to health and success,

James

I think that you may have hit the nail on the head there Alex it would have to be one of the key factors to what we are trying to achieve here at WA.

There's a book I read earlier this year, "The Power of Consistency" by Weldon Long. This is a book that has stayed with me over the months, with the lessons I aspire to weave into my daily life.

That is a really good mindset to create, we tend to take action with the thoughts and beliefs we consistently have, and if those thoughts are positive then the cumulative results of those actions eventually create the quality and circumstances of our lives and businesses. Well worth taking the time to craft and weave it into the fabric of our lives I would imagine that it would be a real, empowering thing to transition into. Let us know how you get on with it Veronica.

Your words are always so elegant, Alex.

Thank you for your kind words, Veronica, much appreciated.

Thanks Alex, your post is most timely as it reminds me of what is possible when we keep trying. After all my years at online marketing I still struggle to find something worthwhile writing about. Something that will get read. I see the results of others' efforts and wonder why I can't do similar.

It's interesting you mention the tools at WA. The first time I wrote something on WA Site Content it felt like a new world. A shiny blank screen in front of me. I didn't have a subject or any ideas. What I wrote 'just happened'. I thought it was rather good and included it in a post for my affiliate site. But, I've never published the post for fear of being thought to be a little crazy! It was actually about the tool, so maybe I'll find courage one day.

Hi Valerie, I think that the key is to constantly chip away at creating content the more that I read from successful writers there seem to be some really basic common denominators running through the thought threads.

Consistency is one at the top of the list, another that is ringing out loud and clear is how that content that is produced is managed and broadcast online that one intrigues me.

I would say put that post out there, which can be hard at times but then again it is how we can work out what our audiences are interested in and how they react to the content that is produced. I know that can be easier said than done at times.

We are fortunate to be members of WA and to be exposed to the knowledge base and also be able to use the resources that are provided. Site Content is a real gem, it is a work in progress, but I think that when folks become accustomed to it there will be some real benefits accruing from its use. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
