Yikes, I have just realized I need to live to be 500 years old.

The proposition of living to be 500 years would start so many conversations on so many levels. One of the nostalgic resonances of every generation is the thought of extending life or halting the aging process. There are mega niches evolved to deal with and find solutions for that enigma of an equation. Fortunes have been made, marketing solutions for the ageless problem.

There is a kaleidoscope of possibilities. Is it normal to think in terms of extending those golden years, not so much for those in the early phases of living; at some point, it can become the center of your focus. The question that comes to mind is "what is normal?" and perhaps my normal is not everyone's normal." The question on the table " why do you need to live for 500 years?

That is the question that popped onto my mental screen today, as I worked away cataloging domain names across the various registrars that I use. I would assume that, like me, you will have a managery of domain names; It seems to come with the territory.

Some days the ideas machine is just in the zone.

Being in the zone is one thing; extending the zone to cross the T's and dot the I's is another thing and level altogether. Do I hear a collective sigh?

Registering a domain name;

Registering a domain name is the easy thing what you do with the thing is a ponderance. There are some possibilities.

  1. Hold onto it for an investment
  2. Use the domain name for a custom email address.
  3. Take the domain name and create a website.
  4. Attach your domain name to an eCommerce store.
  5. Sell your domain name.

Talking to the people whom I meet around the traps, being in the online world, we tend to buy domain names; it is something that we do. The question is, what do we do with them. Like most things, we need to have a strategy or a plan that we are actively working on and developing.

Well, that's the textbook version; it can be so easy to join in the chorus, which we know off by heart. As we know, that's not how it rolls. Once again, from conversations, it appears that domain names can slide from vision only to reappear when that notification arrives in your inbox.

It can be amazing how quickly 365 days fly by; well, at renewal, it's a month before expiry, so 365-31 days pass by. This highlights a bothersome problem that many marketers face to some degree. Doing is one thing making a success of the doing another. It is something that just occurred; I purchased a couple of domain names last year in lockdown; thinking that will be awesome, I'll fang a website around them, slap them on the market, and "Bobs your uncle." The next minute there's a renewal notice sitting in the inbox........... What!

A Key.

The key could be to live to be 500 years old, and in that way, the things that don't shape up will be long shipped out to greener pastures. It all takes time; focus can be the key one thing at a time. When it comes to domain names, there are some possibilities. The key is to make a decision and then follow through.

When you think about that one, it doesn't take 500 hundred years, although reflecting, this online journey can be immensely rewarding and fun, so thinking about the latter could be about just right. Not that it's going to happen!

It has been a timely reminder that saying that "we can be busy being busy" has a ring of truth in it. When we start looking at our gigs, there are probably heaps of stuff that can get rough around the edges, things that we should be paying attention to that slip by—one thing about time; it flys by so quickly. Blink and half a year is gone, just about May already; how did that happen?

My take-home from the last week is that if I get up and start where I left off the day before, the productivity goes through the roof. Getting into the follow-through habit can be good for business. With the online adventure, there are so many aspects to it, and each one requires focus and a work ethic to create some value.

If you have read this far, thank you, and I would really like to hear your thoughts.

Hi Alex,

Wow! 500 year lifespan! I would not mind living that long once I am in fairly good health. With that much time, we all should be able to complete our bucket lists and achieve all of goals and dreams and then some. Thanks for the wonderful post! Wishing you the very best!

Kind regards,
Nichola

The thought of it certainly gets the cogs turning over. It would be cool. Time indeed to rattle through more than a few bucket lists. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Nichola.
Alex

Absolutely, we can get a lot done with that kind of time! You are welcome. 😃🤩

Being achy at 53 im not sure if i can handle 447 more years. My goal is to get free from my job, and be productive daily online with a game plan and schedule. Including a daily walk for 3 or so miles. I walk 5 miles per day at work. It would be awesome to have unlimited time to make as much as we want and do what we want with those we love.

I know what you mean, Mike! I turn 54 in June!

Thoughtful response, Mike, thank you. Once we sit down and reflect, having that plan and working it is what can make all the difference.

They always say that the brain is only using a small amount of it's capacity. Can you imagine if 500 years of experiences, decisions, learning etc., how big a head you would have to have to operate. Kind of scary unless they could attach exterior storage devises.
Great Post & Share Alex.

LOL ... I actually wrote a post recently on creating a brain extension!
:-)

So true, Edward, experience counts for much, it has to be earned and in today's world it can be overlooked. I like your thoughts, thank you for sharing them.

Good post Alex, some great ponderances.
You need to be knocking on a bit to have the life experiences to be able to reflect adequately.
But then you need the youth to be able to carry out the plan.
Maybe we are built backwards. maybe we should count down and not up and then we would have the energy for the follow through that you talk about.
Food for thought, thanks Alex.

Classic, Bux, you are not far wrong there, you make such an interesting point.

We go to school learn, go to work all our lives so we can make enough money to retire and enjoy old age.

Definetly back to front.

Thank goodness for AM and the online marketing world.

Enhancing lives with a different perspective.

Great comment.

I agree with living to 500 Alex. There is so much I haven't done, so much knowledge out there that I don't know.
Family parties are already big, well, will be again soon fingers crossed. But living to 500 would mean massive ones, such fun.
I would also like more hours in a day because that would be very useful.
Time does fly by so fast but then its because we are loving life. Pretty sure it would drag if our lives were boring, lol.

Classic Linda, you make very good sense, I really like your train of thought. It has been a challenging year for so many and it will be good to get back to some form of normality.

I have to agree more hours would be a fine thing, then again the hours we spend are filled with excitement and value.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts Linda, a bright spot in the day.
