Webinar Binging The Good and the Bad

In our super connected world, where just about everything is instant, hopefully not the coffee, binge watching is becoming viewing “ du jour “. Most examples revolve around our favorite series that we may be following and watching on one of the networks.

You know the one, like this show, is the coolest just getting into it missed the first season might just catch up, will watch a couple of episodes, well a couple of hours later hey presto we haven't moved from the couch but have caught up completely.

It seems that this is a modern phenomenon.

So " webby binging " is just that binge watching webinars.

Saturday started at stupid o'clock, slow internet doesn't make for good viewing, fortunately, I was doing some house sitting, now fiber is a different story altogether.

Had kind of planned it so not feeling so guilty, by day’s end a brain swimming with ideas and knowledge, the biggest issue is remembering all the good stuff and letting the dross go.

If you have been in the industry a while we all know that if we turn up to a webinar there will be a pitch at the end, that is how it rolls it is very rare if you get a presentation that doesn't.

One that just presents value.

So the highlights

First up was a webinar about a software that I am just starting to use so it was a walk through very helpful indeed and a soft sales pitch at the end, so ok.

The end of the day well you may pick up the vibe, I was totally unaware that you could make 185K a month straight out of the starting blocks complete, newbies are doing this when they tap into and apply this super secret method.

Which you guessed it with scarcity will only be there a short time because it will be gone forced to take it down because the gurus will make him do it. You may know how it goes.

" Well, knock me over with a feather I have been hiding under my rock for way too long."

The super highlight,

Saying this unreservedly was Jay's weekly webinar right here at WA, really, like the format that is being used especially when “ little Jay “ has the screen behind him. The thing is that it is just total value, we are getting a weekly dose of knowledge and can do.

I do feel slightly guilty one because in this time zone it happens at a very good hour, I realize that for some of you folks it will be at and in the wee small hours and secondly because I haven't made the most of the opportunity. Call it too busy being busy or what ever.

The really good thing is that they are recorded for later viewing, I always think " oh I will catch that one up ", but the way things roll around here I rarely do that, so have made a commitment to catch up on some of the viewings of interest.

My conclusion

We have so many resources right here within WA, the challenge is to get the most value from them, So if we are looking for know how and knowledge or that secret sauce don't leave home for the DIY shop before you check the cupboards in the kitchen and the shelves in the workshop.

Some grist for the mill

I find by just sticking with the resources here at WA, keeps me focused on being successful in Affiliate Marketing. We all have the same goals with similar paths. Web binging scatters my mind in different directions. Of course I still binge watch my favorite TV series!

Have a good week,
Debbie

Hi, Debbie that is a really valid point that you have raised, keeping our eyes on the ball helps us to be focused and there is more than enough information here at WA to help us to get to where we are going.
There is nothing like using the power of the remote to help us fly through those episodes that we have missed or are catching up on, thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Alex,
Yes, we are all guilty of taking time out in our days to watch a webinar of some sort. The whole thing is so silly when you compare to the material we have here that would more completely answer our questions. Call it the shiny flying object syndrome!
thanks,
Sami

Hi, Sami, I like that one a " shiny flying object syndrome ". Some webinars do bring value many are just a way to sell something with little value.
Always pays to check the cupboards before writing out the shopping list saves doubling up on those items, we do have the resources right here inside WA

This makes complete sense to me Alex. I use the resources here at WA often.

I would just like to see more options in the search bar. Advanced search option, more pages to view and maybe an option to select only training, blogs or questions or arrange by date created. It can sometimes take a while to find what you are looking for and some info is not evergreen and outdated.

Thanks for sharing a great post:))

Hi, Rika thank you for stopping by, you are raised a really valid point, it can take some time to find what we are looking for, I think that sometimes it can be the tags that folks use when posting.
It can be a bit of hide, and seek to find the gems we are looking for thank you for raising this, I assume the way the platform continues to evolve that the search functionality will be addressed at some stage.

I had been inclined to watch several webinars by some big name gurus in the marketing world, but after joining WA, I am far less enticed by their sales pitch and find much more value right here at WA. Any questions I have are just a search query away. Great post, Alex. I enjoyed reading it very much.

Hi, Sue, think that we all go through that phase, we are well placed here at WA to pick up the knowledge that we need. really like how you put that, we are just a search query away from finding the answers that we need, that quetion box on our WA home pages is just so helpful, thank you for stopping, glad that you enjoyed the post, Sue.

Yes, Alex, the cupboards are full here in WA :)

So true Carol there are even more than a few recipe books in the kitchen as well, if we drill down, many opportunities to enhance that online income.

You are right Alex. The guru said you could earn $185k a month. I have no doubt about it. That is provided you do the same thing as he did with a huge list of followers. I still subscribe to many email and at time it is good to read as you can learn a thing or two on sales pitch. ;))

That is an excellent idea SK, it is amazing what we can pick up of other marketers if we are open to things that information rolls in.

Thanks Alex - I agree there are a great many resources here in the House before we go for a webinar elsewhere.

What we need is little Jay sitting on our right shoulder reminding us that it's all available here at WA. No need to venture off to areas unknown.

Classic Patrick, I think you may have just come up with the million dollar niche, little Jays.
Just some thoughts we are so fortunate to have the resources that we get with the premium membership definitely well worth it and such good value if we can stay in house, my sense is that it is a lot easier to retain that focus plenty of time to go adventuring down the road a little bit.

Thanks for sharing, Alex.

Hi, Roger, you are most welcome have an excellent week my friend.
