Running the Gauntlet.

Having just run the gauntlet of Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the Christmas selling season, feeling quite proud, managed to avoid temptation.

Surprising, considering in box's filled with tempting offers, across a wide variety of niches, and encountering re-targeting campaigns at every turn.

Looking at stats in general the spending records continue to be smashed, especially online spending, which is good news for online marketers.

An expanding and growing market.

A marketers dream.

Spare a thought for the folks trapped in the eternal customer lifestyle, theirs is a world, of trading time for money so that they can buy the things they want. An endless and repeating cycle.

Some of us have seen a glimpse of a different way and jumped over the fence and either are or are well on the way to becoming sellers, rather than buyers.

If you are in the last category, time for a little high fiving and pat on the back time.

The selling mindset is something that is well worth the energy to invest in and to develop.

The problematic trend that seems to be emerging, is that even when folks get onto a good thing, there is always a need and desire for more. What you need to succeed you already have, in most cases.

No need to keep searching.

In our want everything now world, so many miss opportunities because they keep on searching, looking for the easy way the scoop the missing link.

We are becoming conditioned to instant, if it doesn't happen now we are not interested and move on to the next thing.

You may be trapped in that cycle, or you may have come out the other side, and seen the light. It doesn't matter, what is important is that if you get onto a good thing stick with it.

Stop searching, looking for the next best thing.

Concentrate, and focus, give it your all, and do that for at least 6 to 12 months. There is only one thing that will happen, you will become proficient and you will become successful.

How can you say that?

Observation, simple.

I see people rolling up on the shores, of Wealthy Affiliate, and then proceed to chip away, just keep plodding away, they end up creating something special. Others come and dip there toes in the water, but never jump in.

The tide rolls in and they are washed away, only to pop up on another shore still searching.

If you are here today stop searching, invest the time, the time to learn the time to create, give it your best shot. We all want things to happen, quick as, it has become the way of the world. The thing is that has never been the case.

People come and ask for short cuts, or better still they come still in search mode, look around and then move on because Wealty Affiliate isn't delivering. A quick glance paints a picture, never engaged, never immersed, and it appears never done any training, but have created more than a few websites with a few posts on each.

Why ain't I getting any Google love; well bro you need to follow though, as the younger ones are saying " simples ".

It can be hard, and don't get me wrong, I have been caught in the middle more often than not. You know mid stream and it is getting tricky do you forge on or do you turn around and head back to safety?

That is the question, one of those times when it pays to look sideways; well other people have done it; well why not me. You have to admit it, WA is motivation central, having said that there will be times when we all have to hit the tread the water button, and just hang in there to survive.

It is times like this that you start looking around, looking for the rip cord, the return to safety or looking around for the next program, the one that will do it for you. I mean to say we all came to the online world for a reason.

That is the problem you are just taking you with you, nothing changed, so even if we pull back or drift away, nothing changes, results will be the same. Some times we will hit the doldrums hey its life. That is the time that we need dig it in and find that extra gear, easier said than done at times.

One thing we need to do is not start looking over the fence, there are so many tempting things online, some work some don't, some are scams. One thing for sure when we get onto a good thing, stick with it and follow through.

That is a simple formula, with Wealthy Affiliate we have enough and more, our job is to make the most of it, stick at it and follow through.

Try not to be tempted, by all those good things online.

Best wishes for a productive year.

Alex,
Great post and so very well said. I really like to look at the online world with a brick and mortar mentality, brick by brick. Nothing happens overnight, there is more than enough of all the right things here to help. But nobody is going to do that work for you. Invest in the time, invest in the people, invest in yourself!

Thanks for sharing!

Gerry 👍🏻

Hi Gerry, great comment, and so true no one will do the work for us in the initial phases, and progressing it takes hard work on boarding people to help.

I definitely agree, one of the best investments we can make is to invest in ourselves.

Thank you, and best wishes for 2020.

Alex

thanks for the great post!
I definitely identify with what you're saying. I even find that while I'm woring on my site through WA, I'm tempted to upgrade plugins, purchase tutorials etc....
I think I just need to concentrate on what I've got and build from there
happy new year :)

Hi. Marketa. I think a lot will identify, it can be so easy to get distracted.
When we realize that we have what we need, that desire to keep searching can slip into neutral.

Best wishes for 2020.

Alex

There’s a never ending stream of new business opportunities all promising to deliver riches and success just by pressing a few buttons. Avoiding the temptation to jump ship and try these new things is difficult, especially if you feel you have worked hard and not gotten results yet.
Anyone who has spent any time on WA knows that it’s a long term strategy and it works. We just need to keep going and avoid temptation.
Good luck Alex!

Thanks
Dave

It can come with the territory, there is an elavated expectation, that online marketing is easy, like most things in today's world it is not.

It can be tempting to up sticks and move on, making the realization, that WA provides what is required and that it may take time is a breakthrough worth making.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts Dave.

Best wishes for 2020.

Great post Alex,....sitting in my car at 7:15am awaiting to go into the office, (my office is an HMP Prison )!wishing I could stay and work on my site, with the WA family, I am doing as you suggest “digging in” and one day I know I will be able to swap the early starts and the 7.5 routine for something MUCH MUCH more suited to my current mind set.
Just the motivation I needed 👍
Have a good day 😁

Hi Cordelia, thank you for sharing, that stage where we have evolved our mindset, yet are still living our current life can be frustrating. People reading your comment will be able to relate. Looking ahead can be the spark that keeps the fire burning.
Best wishes for a productive and successful 2020.

Alex

Thank you Alex, now at the other end of the day and I am exhausted, but not so much that I ignore my WA family 🤗

I hear you, Cordelia, being apart of the WA experience can be such a tonic, and have a revitalizing effect on us.
Even when exhausted touching base can give a real energy boost.

Great read Alex.

It is somewhat of disservice that we live in a world where we are accustomed to getting everything NOW. It seems like we have lost that good old feeling of "a job well done" and having the patience to put in the work and reap the rewards in due time.

Like you said. We have everything we need right here at WA. Jumping ship isn't going to get you anything but more of the same.

Cheers,

Michael

Hi Michael, well said, it seems as though we have lost that ability, in the busy world that we live in.
Putting in the work to create something is still very rewarding. Having the energy to follow though especially so.
Making the realization that we have what we need is a bridge worth crossing.

Best wishes for a awesome. 2020

Alex
