The problem of the day; Lack of conviction in "What to do next?".

Endless ideas, thoughts, questions, feelings, comparisons, and concerns about mistakes run the mind 24/7/365. Adding and changing things on a whim, on the fly, can be a fast-track way to make conviction fly out the window.

Let's face it the internet is the biggest echo chamber known to the modern world. Reflecting it is a cocktail of echo chambers. The leader of the pack would be social media. So easy to let self-doubt in, to rule your roost.

Gigantic!

It would be easy to turn it all off, escape the echo chamber and concentrate on the task that is going to create our desired outcomes. For bloggers, that is creating content.

Solution: Turn off all social apps, escape the "Social Media Echo Chamber," and regulate life and business using data and spreadsheets. Optimize slowly by changing one thing at a time. On reflection, it is all about the last statement; it has and is serving me very favorably.

Change one thing at a time! It sounds too easy; there must be a catch; it works.

Readers and content consumers.

Every reader and content consumer has an opinion. They are reading your work because they want to explore your ideas and opinions. Or in terms of marketing and buying, they are waiting to be convinced. The sameness of the online world is that people go online searching for reassurance.

No, No, they have a problem and are looking for a solution?

They are the same thing, are they not?

We all look at what our fellow travelers think. We search for reviews, the creator's ideas, and opinions. On the flip, something to avoid is trying to tell your readers what they already know. If we are in a niche, it is odds on that people have been researching and have a base knowledge.

Every good story has a back story to it. If there is no story searchers tend to make up their own stories. When it comes to convictions, a good way to go is to let your conviction into your content, create a routine, talk to people about your reasons, your whys, thoughts, and opinions, and don't be shy in opening yourself up to questioning. It can be a joy to read comment threads; many creators overlook this powerful content leverage tool.

Having a lack of conviction helps to create a lack of confidence, making it that much harder to optimize the journey, which leads to that point where it can be hard to decide what to do next.

Some say it is essential to believe; of all beliefs, self-belief can be the driver that can lead us to do our best work. It may be just me, but when you have that sense that you are doing your best and giving things your best shot, things start to fall into place. We do not have to convince ourselves or others we know we are doing the right thing. In doing the right thing, we are helping not only ourselves but also others. Conviction is generated in that mode, and from observation, others will buy into that conviction. That probably oversimplifies things; if we don't believe in what we are doing, we can convince others to take up our ideas and opinions.

We don't have to be an influencer to influence; we need to be working on developing our convictions.

So we don't end up having the continual problem of the day.

" What to do next".

At the least, all we have to do is follow the program and let things fall into place.

All good.

Works for me.

Alex Evans.

Hi Alex, I like that. The internet is the biggest echo chamber. A great post. Appreciate the share.

All the best,

Michael

Hi Michael, glad that you enjoyed this post. Unfortunately much of the online world its an echo chamber.
As marketers the roll can be navigating our way though.
Alex

Really great advice, Alex.
Thank you for sharing this reminder to stay true to your conviction.

Best regards,
Barbara

Something that is influencing my journey at present. We can get weary with the passion, we definitely need to have the conviction that what we are doing is the right thing for us to be doing.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Barbara.

Alex

I absolutely agree. 💯
Is is right for us? That is such a huge question.

Thank you for these good articles, Alex!
Good reminders of what to do next? Sometimes, I focus only on one thing and forget those other more important aspects of our business. Thank you!
All the best,
Joyce

Hi Joyce, you are most welcome. Sometimes we can loose site of some of those important aspects. One thing for sure the proceses here in WA certainly help in maintaining direction and focus.

Alex

Thank you, and you are welcome, Alex!
Thanks,
Joyce

I find that too much attention to social media puts me in a place of doubt. So many ideas trying to attack my belief. So many ways to do a simple task can lead to non-action. I continually look for the conviction that led me to the idea to start with.

I think that some minds move about and make sound decisions on the fly. I admire those who can change directions at the drop of a keystroke. Fortunately, we don't all have to work that way.

For those of us who need a plan, I am grateful to say that method works too. Finding what works for each of us is important. We all want to help others. Being true to the way we learn, build and are accountable is how I would like to help.
Sami

Thank you for sharing your insights, Sami, one of the things that can set our journies on fire is crafting and creating in a way that suits us the most.

Finding that way can be worth the effort invested

Alex

Thanks, Alex,

I agree with you most people who search on the internet already have some idea of the item/concept that they are putting into the search bar.

They are looking for more information and or looking to be convinced that what they thought is true. It is up to us to convince them.

If we are not sure ourselves that will come across to our audience and we will not be convincing and they may appreciate our information, but they will go somewhere else where they are convinced and click further.

Alex

Hi Alex, thank you for your thoughtful response; if we reflect on our own searching in many ways, we are all the same with the same needs. As creators recognizing that can make a huge difference.

I have to agree with you; we do need to be confident in what we are presenting, that it meets the reader's requirements, it can be relatively easy to spot content that has gaps and flaws in it.
