The Power of Internet Marketing
Online marketing is a legitimate activity and a really good industry to be involved in. It is really interesting when you mention that you are involved in internet marketing, folks are genuinely curious.
We hear so much about it and I guess that the common view held by many is that there are a lot of scams out there and that it is almost something to be feared or treated with suspicion. It is one of those things that if you don't know about it, you want to know about it kind of things, much like little kids that look at teenagers, they get this glazed over look of curiosity in their eyes, they don't know what its all about, but hey I kind of like that style of things, I could probably do what they do, the unknown which you are inexplicably drawn to.
There are always those questions how much money are you making? have you been scammed yet? what do you do online?
It kind of has this romance associated with it, almost like back in the days of conquering the wild west, some days I am sure that the internet is very much like that, if you are a traveler it can definitely feel like that.
As soon as you go online, we are the target of marketers, I love that one where folks say;
" Oh, I was looking at going on holiday and then all of a sudden everywhere I go I see adds about my holiday destination ".
Welcome to marketing central, it can be so subtle or it can be in your face and totally annoying.
When you jump the fence and become a marketer and when you claim that mantle and make it your own, things take on a totally different perspective. You are in the game, it is a defining point when you accept that reality and when it becomes part of you.
At the end of the day every marketer is looking to sell or promote something. At one end of the scale there are those that are promoting complete rubbish and trying to legitimize it, with push-button tales of overnight riches on the other end of the scale are the marketers that have a genuine interest in helping folks to gain knowledge or opportunities and products that will solve problems and enhance peoples lives.
The push button brigade is really doing a disservice to the industry, that whole culture is not sustainable. On the other hand, folks who are creating an online presence which core intent is to help other people are in fact creating a very powerful opportunity not only for themselves but also for their potential customers and clients.
Making a difference is what it is all about!
Waiting for an email and a pleasant surprise
I was reminded of that once again yesterday, I was waiting for an email to come through from a supplier. I am not usually glued to my emails, so a long story short I popped out to finish mowing the lawns, came back and blow me down there's an email from Wealthy Affiliate,

It is good when that happens because it reminds one of what its all about.......... it is the opportunity to help someone to develop and enhance their lifestyle, which is just awesome, it is so good for everyone concerned.
My big take home,
I see a lot of folks, getting the wobbles as I call them whereby you almost start second-guessing your self and questioning whether all, the blood sweat and tears are worth it. So here's me mowing the lawn, and somewhere in the world, someone engages with content that I have produced seen an opportunity and taken the first steps to invest in their future.
That is the power of it all, through the content that we create we are creating opportunities for folks to effect change, the thing is that once that content is created and is out there in the public domain, promoting our message, it doesn't have to stop and sleep, doesn't have to stop to eat, go on holiday, never gets sick and needs to take days off, never gets injured and has to take time to recover, and the big one, it never quits your content works tirelessly for you.
What a great friend our content is, one of the best friends and co-workers that we will ever have in the world. So we kind of need to make it the best we possibly can, it is such a good servant.
So some top marketers have this catch cry,
Content, content, content.
I can see why.

Reading your blog today reminds me of why I am here and doing this WA thing, it is just as you mentioned here to help others, in pointing them in the right direction to success using quality content.
I get a kick out of engaging with others curious about this business, and am surprised as to how misguided and misinformed some are.
So I just enjoy setting the record straight. I agree, CONTENT is the most important tool in our arsenal.

Hi Gary thanks for commenting, I agree with you there are a whole lot of misconceptions out there, sharing knowledge and shedding some light is something that is hard to beat and it does bring results.
Whether it be in the product or information field it is our content that will speak for us even in our absence, quality content has that element built into it.
We are in the right place to do that Taniela, and the great thing is that we are sharing the journey with some very caring and creative folks, wishing you much success soak up al the knowledge that you can and put it into action.

So true Alex. Also another reminder to be aware of what we write. A few days ago I saw a very recent WA blog of mine sitting in No.1 position on Google. Of course it had to be the one that tells how traffic to one of my websites has dropped. I wrote that to help new members who are so anxious to start their second website. I didn't write it to tell the world how I lost traffic! Some could see that as a failure and steer clear of me! Oh well, that's life!

We truly do have a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate being problem solvers via our content rather than sales pushers.
With time and with each piece of content we strengthen this which is what helps us to be trustworthy compared with all the hype that goes nowhere.

So true Mark, that is the thing that struck me, in solving those problems our content is helping us to step outside the normalised 9 to 5 world and start creating and crafting our version of it.
