168 hours per week

No more no less, it is the same for everyone, time carries no favors.

What counts is how we decide to spend the hours that are gifted to us, that can be the thing that defines us. For many the rigors of living can tend to take over, and many find themselves in that situation where they are living to work. The way that society has evolved there can be real pressures for folks to forgo that work-life balance in order to keep their job or progress up the ladder. Being honest that is the way it is and it can be so easy to fall into that trap, from reflection we can be masters of our own demise at times.

In an ideal world we should be working to live, we all have bills and need to find shelter, put food on the table, and provide for our families and loved ones.

Unfortunate, but for many it is the total opposite. Creating a positive work-life balance, can be a very mindful thing, we need to sit down and actually reflect on what we are doing and what we want to achieve.

Without thought, we are either doing one or the other;

Working to live or living to work.

I think at certain phases of our lives and work lives we can oscillate between the two positions. From my perspective one brings sustainability and fulfillment and one does not. As our lives become more complex, it can become harder to break away.

At some point in order to effect change we need to rejig what we are doing and focus on and what we spend our time on.Lately I have spoken to more than a few people who say they haven't got time, their time is taken up and there is no room to move, so their chances for change are minimal.

The thing is we all have the same amount of time, the difference is how we decide to invest the time that we have. If, we want change then we need to focus on how we spend that time.

The online world is one of the places where time can evaporate, five minutes can become hours, in a matter of what seems minutes, it is a strange situation, one that I am sure that we can all relate to.

Being mindful of time, can be really powerful, being mindful of how we spend time can literally add hours into the week, that may seem random but it does. One of the positives is that we can create this sense of calmness and achievement.

Some people say to me that they can not do this and as we know the online journey does take time, thinking about how they spend the gift can make all the difference.

It can be really empowering.

Next time you are pressed for time, just remember that we all have the same amount it is how we choose to spend it that makes the difference at the start and end of the day.

Thank you, Evan, for this great post you have here.

Yes, that's true, we have had all the same time 24 hours a day, 168 hours a week, the difference is how we manage those precious time.

Once again thank you for sharing, you opened my eyes to keep moving.

Kindest Regards,
Lyn

Hi Lyn you are most welcome, and what counts us what we do with that time.

Best wishes.

Alex

I love this post-Alex and I love my balance of time
Fortunately, I do art as a kind of meditation and release when I am not working on my sites and I always feel invigorated after a couple of hours doing some creative fun stuff
Working to live :)
Vicki

Hi Vicki, sounds like you have your balance set right, doing that creative stuff can really energize us.

That energy flows through everything we do.
Alex

I love this look at time and describing it as a gift. We do all have the same amount of time yet some of us achieve great things and others nothing at all. They are just marking time We need to divvy up our time and prioritise it because like you said , it is a precious resource which can be easily wiled away.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Judy well said, managing time can be a challenge, I like how Laura expressed it;

Time is a gift to us and for us to give.

We do need to prioritize the time we have.
Alex

It is so fulfilling to use time wisely. Time is powerful and it goes without looking at us. It has no friend. I am always behind.

It can be rewarding to ring every last second it of the day, and the thing about time is that we can make it work for us.

Best wishes as you catch up time.

Alex

Alex, you are so right. We all have the same time no less no more. If I twiddle my time away I have no time left. If I have no time left I have nothing to give.

A few days ago I wrote a short post on time. Time is a gift to us and for us to give.

Thank you so much for this.

Laura

Hi Laura, I really like how you said that, time is indeed a gift and what better thing to do with it, than share.

Alex

Great post ... time is what it is for everyone ... that can not be avoided ... the truth as you say is that the conception of time around us is in effect the way we decide to use the time that is allowed to us ... to make it work for us or to use it as leisure when we need to rest ... we are always in the end the decision maker ... to stagnate or to go forward ... cheers ... Michel

Good insights Michel, we are the captain's of our own journeys.

168 hours..... That is an awesome thing to remember. Every person we look at has the exact same amount of time. It is simply a matter of how we manage it and how we choose to look at our circumstances.

I've loved the Vegas posts because it has given us some insight into how the Super Affiliates work and have managed to pull off what they accomplished in the same 168 hours that I had.

Alex, I hope all is going well in your world.

Hi Sondra, you have raised such a valid point, we do have the same amount of time.

How we spend it is what creates the outcomes we desire, observing and following others who have walked the path, can help us to walk on their footprints.

Alex

Holy Cow!
168... now I need to figure out what I'm doing most of the time!
Shaunna

Hi Shuanna, that can be a scary proposition, but one well worth doing.

That time stock take, can pay huge dividends.

Best wishes.

Alex

Very well said and it’s very true! Thank you for a wonderful post.

Take care.

Nida

Hi Nida, you are most welcome, and thank you for reading.

At times folks myself included can feel that there is not enough hours in the day.

At times we are just not spending those hours to gain the most benefit.

Alex

Great post, Alex!
Yes, we have the same amount of time each day as Mozart had, or Marie Curie or Einstein. We must embrace each hour and work to the best of our ability and shine!
C & P

Hi C & P, hope all is well with you, I have to agree we do need to embrace every hour, there are so many possibilities out there.
