The last quarter of 2020, coast, or go hard out to achieve your goals

I had the realization that we are just about to start the final quarter of 2020. There are thirteen weeks in a quarter, and if we are organized, it is incredible how much we can achieve.

Suppose you are part of the glass half-filled brigade, plenty of time to keep building that empire if it's half-empty panic is setting in. The realization from the start of the last quarter is that it is only 13 weeks until the end of the year. The schedule is way off, and the list of to do's will not be completed in time.

We don't always get what we want done; having a dedicated plan can help you cushion the blow. That plan can be the engine room of all outstanding achievements. In business, the usual approach is to think in terms of financial achievement based on a quarterly measure, it can also be used to set and manage goals and outcomes.

The quarter focused mindset method?

I roll using the quarter focused mindset method. It is where you divide the year into quarters, thirteen weeks per quarter; four quarters equals 365 days one year.

If you want to power pact yourself, working in quarters is a great way to go; it gives you a sense of finality. Setting targets and goals takes on a new meaning because you try to do it in a finite time. Not only that, but we are, measuring against the goals and targets that we have set.

When I started this caper, I set my targets way too high, and the thing is with high expectations, we fail to hit the mark, and then get frustrated and give up on the idea. It took more than a few hits to make it work.

Well worth the effort!

I am more relaxed about it and accept there will be times when we don't make our quota. That acceptance can actually be empowering and make us more realistic.

The value for me is that I know that I will be focusing on this one area, immersing and creating good outcomes. I am blown away by the positive results that can be achieved.

Give it a go!

If you consider having a crack, obviously writing would be a sitter. When you think about say three posts per week of 1000 words over a quarter, that's 39,000 words.

I was happy to meet the targets set, you do it a few times, and then your confidence grows; now I throw in what I call "the extender." So when you think about it, that's 39 ( 1000 ) word posts; if I did another seven posts, that would be 45 by years-end.

It is that challenge that is not; it fires the imagination and is achievable. It's only another 539 per words a week; how long does that take to achieve more outcomes.

We have so much stuff happening; it gets diluted, and you end up chucking stuff at the wall, hoping something will stick. Another way to use this is to select a topic and dive in, immerse, and see what you can learn and achieve. The first point of call is always WA for me. There is a lot of information; the knowledge base is deep.

Just mulling over how the last quarter of 2020 can be best utilized, and already have an eye to the first quarter of 2021.

How are you going to see out the last quarter of this challenging year?

I've been pushing lately and plan to continue to the end of this year. I can only hope this year takes all it's drama with it but I know that's a tall order. At least, if I push, I'll be in better shape come 2021.

YES, that glass CAN be refilled!!!!

Happy Friday.

Hi Debbi, I hear you this year has been challenging, so on the flip side striking out to acheiove better results can be the way to go.

I have found sidestepping while moving forward is the way to go.

Best wishes as you continue to create the results that you want to see. The work we do from now to the end of the year definitely sets us up for a flying start in the new year.

I am a refill man.

🍷🍷🍷 cheers to all that!

Awesome post Alex and absolutely. Go hard in the last quarter, it will set you up nicely for 2021.

The "money" months within the online world lie ahead as well (in terms of online spending), so if you make these a focus of yours you are going to see some good revenue as we result of them.

Hi Kyle, I really appreciate your comment and for taking the time. That is my thoughts as well doing the focused work now to set up for the coming year. Oart of the reason for doing things this way.

It can be all about timing and as you say the money months do lie ahead, we have to do the work to put ourselves in the position to make the most of the opportunities.

*** going to bring the car in for regular servicing, then, Go and Refill ! .... it can always use more fuel ....

well, it's an automatic however if i were driving a stickshift, then it would be put in Gear, Go on the pedal, and once on the road, put it in cruise control for consistency, continuing, and creating !

an analogy to describe the last quarter approach ....

all the best .... cheerio .... ⭐️🙂🎉 .... ***

Classic Keisha, that is an excellent way to look at things. I think that if we create that mental picture of what we want to achieve and detail it out in that plan, we are well advanced to creating the outcomes we want.

I like the car analogy.

Alex

... that's right ..... zzzooooommmmm-zooooommmmm ! .... gone!

So fill the glass up and full steam ahead.

Awesome, Geoffrey, I like your take on things; the only way to go.

Schools work in quarters, uni works in trimesters. It makes sense.

Hi Yvonne, I hadn't thought about things like that, you have made a solid point. It works a treat.

Thank you for sharing.
