Power Pack Weekends

Somewhere in the world, it is Friday night already and the weekend beacons, anticipation builds as the week winds down. In today's world, I am not sure what is normal, so many folks work such abstract hours that the 9 to 5, Monday to Friday has well and truly morphed into so many permutations.

One thing for sure ask and most folks would sooner be doing something different to what they are doing, exploring new ways to create that paycheck would be high on the list of priorities for many.

Ah, but what to do, fortunately for us folks here in WA there is light at the end of the tunnel we do have a way and we do have the resources we need to explore alternative possibilities and in doing this we can expose our selves to new opportunities.

And believe me, folks, there are so many out there.

For many of us that come to the online world, we already have such busy and hectic lives, so adding another dimension can be a dimension too far.

Like most things, we just need to do some heavy lifting to get across the line, each of us has our own lines, boundaries, and expectations.

Power Packing

Over the last little while, I have been power packing, for want of a description it is working and immersing when others are resting and recharging.

Going hard out

The best time can be at the weekends, hard out doesn't mean doing a 16-hour day that can be counterproductive, you kind of have to train to do that, especially day in day out.

In this business applied knowledge can be the key, I was finding I would get into a project or an aspect of the marketing journey it could be technical, or graphical or it could be tied to keyword research, the content creation, I think you are getting the picture.

All Good

The problem that I was finding is that I would work on something and then others things would come across the desk and then you would have to leave it.

Many folks express it as life happening

When you come back to it, the next day or in a couple of days you had to spend time, unproductive time reacquainting yourself and coming back up to speed.

Very frustrating.

Change is as good as a holiday.

At the start of the week, I tend to hone in on a project, or aspect that I want to resolve, there are so many, I am sure that you would agree it is not solely the domain of just one aspect.

On Monday I know how much time I am going to budget for it and the day of the week, it was weekends but I am favoring midweek. The important thing is that we need unencumbered time, and it needs to be at least four hours in real terms half a work day seems to bring the best results, just a personal preference.

Just work it, shut the world out, and work your plan, it kind of help's if you can work out what your natural rhythm is, and establish that work space where you feel comfortable.

Always good to have some good sounds, chips, and dip, and the coffee.

I am amazed at what can be achieved with total focus, it gets things done, helps us to get our heads around things and best of all bed them in, achieving results can be such a confidence booster.

The key for me is to start with just one thing and just stick at it till you have it sorted. It may take you all day, or it may take four hours.

May require you to walk away for a break, just as long as you stick to it.

Nothing like having a plan and working that plan.

Build a few power pack weekends or days on one another and you may be really surprised, I know I have been, give it a go see what you can achieve.

I think it is that big burst of energy that we can bring to something that makes it work, and work it does.

Easier if you only have your self to answer to, but even if you have people around you, invite them into the program nothing like a little forward planning, let people know what you are up to and they may just become very supportive, or more supportive.

If you step outside the confines of what could be described as normal, the possibilities will open up and things will happen. If we can do something that brings maximum results for the time expended then it can only be good.

Have a great weekend.

Alex, thanks for defining (or maybe inventing) the term — I find it quite useful.
I had to be elsewhere than WA this weekend with family obligations, and the same will be true all next week. Therefore Power Packing for me right now will have to mean, as a retiree, getting lots and lots done while others are at their 9-to-5.
So here's the plan: 4pm here, 72 more blogs to read and comment on. I will finish them by 6 (two 10-minute breaks), then after dinner write a blog on a topic yet to be discovered....
Now, I wrote it down, so hold me to it! Shame me if you don't see a new post from me by tomorrow....
Is it fair for me to ask that of you? Hope so!
Thanks,
Tim

Heavy lifting - yeah. It's like weight-lifting, I find. Which I why I'm getting back into some weight-lifting, because the stress here can get pretty big, if you don't exercise. I find I have to do that more now that my brain is busy with stuff, so the physical part demands attention too.

Thanks for sharing Alex. I agree, focusing on one thing at a time and working until it is done is the way to go. It is very satisfying when finished. Wise words!
Jenny

Hi Jenny, thank you for stopping by, I have to agree with you is very satisfying when we stick to the task we have on the go only surpassed by completing them.

Have an excellent weekend.

Hey Alex. I worked up a plan for my week last weekend. It worked. I had a productive week and now I'm soon to be off for the weekend.
I hope your weekend is awesome!
Wendi :)

Hi Wendi, that sounds so productive, having that workflow planned out can only be bettered by accomplishing the tasks that we have set. thank you for sharing.

Every day is the weekend so all is good.

Have a wonderful weekend and an excellent week.

Love that! Every day is the weekend so all is good!!!

Tried and True

Elaine

Hi, Elaine, you are most welcome, just sharing something that is bringing huge benefits to my journey.

Thank you for stopping by have a great weekend.

Welcome to the "Gig Economy". I have several income streams, some days are more lucrative than others, but the thing abouut weekends is, they're no longer just Saturday and Sunday. Sometimes, weekdays are now our weekends.

Here's to livin' the dream!
Hal

Awesome, Hal good to see you, I like your, coinage the "Gig Economy " a very descriptive title. Good point Hal weekends can be in transition when we come to the world of online marketing.

Creating our own version of normal, although challenging at times can be a load of fun,

Thanks for posting your comment, much appreciated.

Actually, I can't take credit for the "gig economy", but I came up with "pajamas optional"

Top of the range, I like that one as well, it is those maxims that can bring real value they convey so much, like it.

Great article Alex
This week I have been reading more blog posts before I start my day..and that has led to asking better questions. I have found better routes to success. What I'm realizing now is what my strengths and weaknesses are. What I've read is to value my strengths and know my weaknesses. My most important strength now is knowing what I need to have done to finally have a successful blog. My weakness that I've struggled with all through school and college has been writing. So based on this week's research from a book I started to read by Dean Graziozi called Millionaire Success Habits The Gateway To Wealth and Prosperity I'm learning where my priorities are for creating a successful blog business that makes the most sense for me by using a little extra time in the morning before I start my day and a little time just before I go to bed.
Most importantly find out what changes and tasks and research needs to be done. Secondly signed up for the Amazon Affiliate program. 3rd signed up for Adsense. Watch more of Jay's videos.
Then carefully budget and outsource the writing part. That's part of true leadership. It's 1st knowing what needs to be done. Know what you can easily do. Then find out who can easily do the struggle of what needs to be done as long as I provide them the proper road map of how it needs to be executed. I hope this helps some of you out!

Hi Mark, good to see you, how are the grapes growing.
Thank you for your thoughtful response, finding what works for us or our natural flow can be one of the first big breakthrough's. It can take some self-reflection and a heap of self-talk. the upshot is that we work out where we sit in terms of creating a really positive business. I think that we need to do this, it helps so much moving forward.
I see that you are challenged in the writing department, from observation and researching this would be one of the biggest factors in folks leaving or giving up their dream to create some new life outcomes.

It is massive.

Looks like you are working out your workflow when it comes to creating content, best wishes moving forward. Thanks for sharing your experiences and the way that you intend to move forward.
I am sure folks reading will be able to relate.

Alex Thank you...grapes are fine and preparing a field for more loading tons of unwanted rocks and getting a little got under the sun...on that note back to work...Im going to research AdWords and my budget now that I'm getting Amazon products listed. You are most welcome Gus, you too have an awesome weekend.

Awesome, the reds will be looking to even the score, hopefully, hometown advantage will swing the game and make a little history.

cant see the reds get it... we need a bit of history..lol

I love that Power Packing ideas Alex. It is a very valid point of the difference between "efficient" and "effective". With Power Packing, I believe I can be more effective (put things into prioritization list) instead of what on the first item on the desk.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

Yes to Power Packing!

:)
Joe

Hi Joe, you are most welcome, I like that one and so true being or working towards being more effective does pay some real dividends.

Best wishes and happy power packing.
