Reflections That Maybe Helpful

Some sage advice is to never burn one's bridges, it has probably been around since the start of time and has stood the test of time.

It is advisable to never destroy one's path of retreat and the ability to regroup, our connections, and our reputations, and the opportunities to get back into the fold.

One of the main times, troubles strike is when we are dismissed from a job in the worst possible way and or circumstances, at this flash point we should take care to not burn our bridges with unseemly comments or behavior, on the way out the door or shop floor, you never know who you will meet again, and in what situation and at what point of time.

There is that safety net, of always leaving your options open, no matter what the state of affairs, at times we need to rise above the situation and the people involved.

An Exception to the Rule

When you are charting your own course the rules of engagement change, the biggest changer is that you are creating your own rules.

One of the biggest realizations can be that when the day is done most folks get to walk off the job and go home, this is the point in time when tomorrow begins for the self-employed.

One of the biggest bridges to cross is the realization that if I want to be successful and create a successful business, from scratch;

I have to be prepared to work for nothing.

Zero, zip.

" What no money, not even the minimum wage!"

" Yes, not even the minimum wage! "

Well, my friends and family will have something to say about that, they will come to my rescue and save me from myself and talk me out of that fool hardy approach!!!!

Well What About The Online World?

This is especially true in the online world, there are short cuts but starting out you do not know them or where in many cases where to find them?

Experiences can be purchased, experience has to be earned.

When in business and it is for yourself and you get to that bridge it may take some time and courage to cross it, by the powers of everything in you when you do cross it;

Burn that bridge down so there is no going back.

Then the only option is to move forward, you have assigned your fate, the only task is to claim your future, it can be empowering.

That is the biggest difference between working for someone else and working for your self.

You know the saying, " the buck stops with me ".

If it doesn't then it should do, its called business.

It can be as simple as changing your mindset, so the business that you are going to or are creating and scaling becomes center stage, everything else takes a back seat.

That is truly worth a bridge burning and a very good place to start and the funny thing is that it works at any stage of the journey, what happens is that a lot of self-doubt will fall away, and you will develop a clarity of thinking.

It is something that has worked for me and continues to do so.

Happy, bridge crossing but more importantly enjoy the bonfires of your success!.

Enjoyed your post and it evoked a lot of good responses!

Hi Rosana, glad that you enjoyed this post, one of the challenges starting online is that it does take time and one of the hardest things is that we need to work to create outcomes.

The thing is at the beginning that work in the majority of cases is unpaid.

There are some really good responses.

Thank you for stopping by.

Alex

HI
OMG! I like it. Thank you so much.
Damo

Hi Damo, good to see you and glad that you found some value in this post, following this process has been very helpful for me.

How is your journey going thus far?

Thank you for stopping by.

Alex

Hello Alex.
Doing good. Thank you for asking. I'm still trying to prepare my contents.
Thanks!

Let's burn that bridge down behind us Alex!
Good post and thanks for your positive advice.
C & P

Metaphorically, burning bridges, when in business can be positive, learning where the difference and balance is, can be a work in progress.

I think that making that mindset shift can be good for creating the outcomes that we are seeking. In the beginning, we need to become comfortable with certain aspects if we don't it is a slow burn to quitting.

Good to see you guys and hope all is well in your world.

Alex

Like the pig said to the chicken about a bacon and egg breakfast, "For you it's a little bit of work, but for me it's total commitment." lol

That is awesome, Kc, really sums it up, so few words but you have conveyed a really powerful message.

Thank you for your insights.

Alex

You have the right attitude. My feeling is there are always shortcuts towards earning an income online. The path to fast money is also the path to frustration and disappointment.

Because, if the foundation is not built strong, the building won't stay up too long. Those who do not think like an entrepreneur do not understand the concept of creating an asset that makes money work for you rather than you work for money.

The only thing those on the outside see is that while creating our money earning website, we are earning nothing. We just have to turn a blind eye and move forward.

One day when they see the results, they will respond in three ways.

1) You were just plain lucky
2) They now want in
3) They feel they cant do what you did

Sadly that's the way of the world. We entrepreneurs know better!

Cheers.

Edwin

There are short cuts and in the wider internet space, many lead to dead ends and disappointment.

WA could be described as a short cut, the knowledge, resources, and community support if utilized correctly can shave a fair amount of time off someone's journey to their success.

In the begining, some new people don't realize that, from observation, some folks arrive and then continue to search instead of getting stuck in.

Making that transition from working for someone else to working for ourselves can be a road of many potholes.

I think that you have expressed it very well Edwin.

Making the realization that we may have to invest some energy for nothing can be a watershed moment.

Interest does spike in relation to the level of success that has become apparent.

The funny thing is that even a follow these steps 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and success is guaranteed can be too hard for some.

A business built on a solid foundation is always sustainable.

Thank you for sharing your insights, Edwin.

Alex.

Your ingenuity has come to the rescue many times Alex, I'm sure!

Hi Mike not sure about that, but one of the things I have learned or perhaps had reinforced since coming to the online world, is that it can be a real advantage to cross the bridges as we come to them.

We may not like the crossing.

When we do burn them so the only way is forward.

Alex

forward ho!

Awesome Mike, it is the only way to go.

No Plan 'B'

Classic, probably right up to a plan Z, the key is making that realization and taking action accordingly, as we know plans change so we need to accommodate any changes that present.

Then again if we have a system, resources, and knowledge, then we have our plan A to Z, all rolled into one, no backing out.

Alex.

Yes, exactly. No backing out. Problems are challenges that are there to be overcome and in the process they will help us to grow. Win win.

That is such a good way to look at things Twack, definitely a win-win, thank you for that comment.

Sage advice indeed.
Well said Alex.
Great post to read.

Cheers,

Tim

Hi, Tim, Glad that you enjoyed this post, and thank you for stopping by.

Alex.

Well said Alex, I believe that is the scariest and most empowering moment when you realize the buck really does stop with you. My return bridge has been burned, I listened to the negative people around me (not my husband, he has always been a great supporter), but others and lost years of opportunity. I will not be able to go back this time, the bridge has been burned and I suck at swimming.
Have a great day
Denise.

Go, Denise, your comment has made my day really like your attitude so true we can let others influence what we are doing and at times what we think about ourselves.

It is good to hear that you are on your track to success, best wishes.

That last statement, the bridge has been burned and I suck at swimming is epic.

Alex

Great post, Alex. Yes having no way back is scary but will certainly focus your mind on what you are doing.

Best Wishes
Hazel

Hi Hazel, I guess it can be scary when there is no going back, I think that is key it can help us to focus and at that stage, there will be no need to go back.

Thank you for stopping by much appreciated.

Alex
