No Internet Busted Business Grinds to a Screeching Halt.
The Internet is dropping off!
If you are living on the edge, you get the sense when things are sliding south, call it the 8th sense.
Things start dropping; you are losing that connection. Dropping is one thing reconnecting is another — time to kick in the recovery plan. You begin to go through the obvious and FAQ list of possibilities, switch off, reboot, and when that fails, the temptation to throw the laptop through that closed window becomes tempting. It usually happens at that crucial point in time; you need to be online; the workflow makes it imperative.
In this game, no connection means one thing game over for the time being.
Time to kick in the plan, A, B, C, D, E, F, G,
Ah, to no avail.
Time to kick in the plan, H, I, J, K,
Not happening today.
Well then,
Plan, L, M, N, O, P.
Limited success.
When you have to get online, there will be a way it can be done if you have to. It is one of those times to dig deep.
It turns out the localized network is down, with a significant fault caused by a weather event. No one has access to the internet.
That is reassuring?
No Internet the ramifications.
I go to the local city; Gas would be the order of the day.
Ah, the EFTPOS machine at the Gas station isn't working, they are only taking cash. The ATM's aren't working. There is no access to money.
The city has ground to a halt!
Cash is the flavor of the day!
So businesses that were not taking cash, are now taking cash, business is business.
I mean to say what's cash anyway, who carries cash, in this cashless society that we live.
Head home and dig up a biscuit tin?
Folks are starting to stumble around lost.
No Internet.
"The sky is falling chicken little ".
What are we going to doooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!
Seriously what are we going to do, this is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaddddddddddddddddddd.
A wake-up call.
We are all so connected, many without even realizing it. Our world depends on the internet. When it crashes, the world stops.
" Who needs missiles, I mean just cut the odd cable or flick the switch. No more internet. The trouble is that horse bolted many years ago, and now there is no going back. Our existence depends on it ".
It depends on having a viable internet and a sustainable connection.
Have you noticed we are all connected, we all have phones they are a part of us, we are living in a mobile world?
It's a mobile, mobile, mobile, mobile, world.
Marketers Take
What a time to be involved in online marketing, growing uptake, life depends on having access to the internet, a captive audience. We need to get our acts together and focus on doing what we do well, or at the very least, work towards becoming the best.
The internet;
We depend on the internet; we need the internet; it has arrived; we can not go back. For some, it was 72 hours filled with anxiety. The stampede to pick up those devices when the realization came that the intent was back on. The kids were leading the charge.
Game on!
For me, it was a rather expensive exercise. On reflection, I have a different and refreshed view of how we engage. We are living in a different world. Some people say that they don't need the internet, they can take it or leave it, then proceed to whip out their card and make that purchase.
Okay, bud, of course, you don't need the internet? If you believe that it's all good, in your world.
Perhaps we are living in a world where adaptation is the order of the day.

Oh no, Alex, my kids would be standing around looking like Robot on Lot in Space when his power pack was removed. We must teach them to be able to adapt--after all many successful individuals have come before them without the advantage of the internet! Adapt and Overcome!
Jeff
Wow lost in space, that was a scary one back in the day. When we view it with our modern eyes with the gaming graphics we have now, it is vintage stuff.
Screen time and the desire for screen time, is a huge drive for many kids.
For parents learning how to manage and monitor screen time, it is a totally new and evolving, learning on the job situation.
No internet, hey going outside and climbing a tree is a good second choice.
Well said Jeff,
Adapt and Overcome!

I've wondered my own self what we would do if the internet went away. From what I've learned, it appears there is no going back to what was. If it quits, we will have to learn to do things in a new way.
That's why I think it important to remember not to put all your eggs in the same basket. Multiple sources of income are key. Some of those sources should not be internet-based.
No harm in being prepared.
Hi Fran thank you for chiming in with your wise, council.
We just all assume that the internet is there, and stable, when it is actually a very fragile ecosystem.
Multiple sources of income can be key, definitely something to work towards.
Thank you.
